GREENSBORO, N.C. – Keenan Royalty and Dax Isbell of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s golf team qualified to compete in the 2025 U.S. Amateur Golf Championship starting Monday in San Franciso, California.

Royalty finished in a tie for fifth place in the U.S. Amateur Final Qualifier in Wilmington, North Carolina, at Eagle Point Golf Club on July 14, 2025. The junior posted a four-under-par (68) in the final round to earn a spot in the 2025 U.S. Amateur Championship. He notched a total of eight birdies and six pars in the round.

Isbell finished in a tie for eighth place at the U.S. Amateur Local Qualifying at Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina, on June 17, 2025. The 2025 UNCG newcomer posted a two-under-par (70) after recording nine pars, four birdies and one eagle to claim his place in the U.S. Amateur Championship.

This is the second consecutive year that current Spartans have competed in the U.S. Amateur Championship as current junior Kelvin Hernandez participated last year.

Royalty will tee off from hole 10 at the Ocean Course at 9:36 a.m. PST / 12:36 p.m. EST. He is paired with William King and Pavel Tsar, all representing the United States. Isbell will tee off from hole one at The Olympic Club at 9:56 a.m. PST / 12:56 p.m. EST. He will be paired with Benjamin Cors from America and Wyatt Brook of Canada.
