Bryson Dishambo tried cheating. See, during 2020 FedEx tournament, Bryson hit a drive way left, resulting him having hit out of the trees and specifically a hard patch of dirt. In the PGA rule book, it states that if you were in danger due to a nearby animal, you can take a free drop. Bryson tried to get out of this bad lie by saying the ants were dangerous. He did not get relief and ended the hole in a double bogey.

  1. Well, you didn't state what kind of ants they were…
If they were Fire ants, which are dangerous and can kill you if you are allergic to them like me…

  2. He’s not cheating. He’s trying to take the rules to his advantage. A lot of professionals do this.

  3. One, being from the Memphis area, that is a perfectly acceptable response to fire ants.
Asking for relief is not cheating, it's in the rule book. Hoping to using the rules to your advantage is also not cheating!

  4. Under the rules of golf, he asked for a decision to be made. Insects are included in the dangerous animal clause in the rulebook.

Dechambeau is playing at the top level of his sport. If he can legally get free relief from a bad lie, he has to at least try.

I don't see how this is cheating. If he'd taken relief without asking an official, that'd be him trying to cheat.

  5. If you cannot use the rules in your brain to get out of situations, then your the problem. Work smarter not harder
