for those of you that are regulars to my channel you will appreciate that the grip is a huge component in my coaching today I’ve got a great grip aid for you that is going to allow you to really nail down this grip so often I see many people coming to me on skillist the remote coaching app and on the mat here at Precision golf the home of good golf coaching with grips that even though they’ve been following a lot of my content won’t quite have Ned it this swing Aid allows us or grip Aid allows us to really dial in consistently how you want to apply the grip it pops on the bottom of the club and just slides up and when it slides up depending on your grip and how new your grips are mine are new it might be a little bit tricky to start with but it will loosen up over time now you can see compared to the pre molded G grips which always rely on how the golfer has put that grip a on it will really change its orientation relative to the club face so this grip a has got a little dial down the middle and it allows us to rotate it to the right and allows us to rotate it around to the left and depending on where you place this grip a it will really set up how the hands are put on the golf club now at the moment that grip a is pointed straight down the middle of the club face so when the face is square the white line is down the middle of the grip what I want you to do is rotate this grip a so it’s in the right hand quarter so if that’s half of the grip I’m going to turn it a quarter of the grip to the right so it’s sitting down the side what this allows us to do is to get the thumb in the right spot now here is the tricky part the bit that most golfers don’t quite know and that’s the placement in the pad of the hand what I often see is a thumb in this position but then a left hand that sits down through the middle of the hand the club sitting down through the palm of the hand even though you can see all of these Knuckles here is in fact a really weak grip because of this grip Aid it allows the thumb to be in place and for you to now adjust the pad of the hand and with the pad of the hand now on top you can see we’ve got a lovely kink in here which is very different to the palm of the grip and less of a kink I now change the top of the hand there’s that Kink now this has got a great uh opportunity for you to be able to play this with many different golf clubs and many different shots so this just in its standard grip position it then allows us to get the right hand and they’ve done a lot of work on this I mean I first came into contact with this griid about 15 years ago and I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread and I always have one in my bay but it’s a bit of a cheat it’s a bit of a grip hack that allows you to get the hands on the club in the right manner so we’ve got that right hand now on sits beautifully on Lovely and tactile this this grip a and then it allows me to just go ahead and make my Swings with this very different feeling to many of you with the with the grip that was my first one of the day so maybe we need to go a little bit a little bit better than that and here’s the thing if you then get into the bunker and then you want to open the face up as you then open the face up and then you dial the grip back you can then place the grip back on and allow yourself to hit that that bunker shot that allows you to pop it up if you then are playing with wedges you drop the ball back in your STS the grip again feels a little bit different because they have a bit more excessive sharling that then allows you to place the grip in the right order so this little grip a and as I say this is not sponsored all I’m doing here is giving you something that allows you to place the hand in the right spot on the golf club if you’ve watched enough of my content and you’ll see that grip video that I’ve done up in the top left hand corner it’s all about doing a press up on the grip so when we apply that press up on the grip there is the kink in the left hand that’s the placement of the left hand that could not be easier but I still get people questioning me how do I put my hand on the golf club well this as I say this little grip a that either slides up from the bottom or you can push it on up the top white line down the center turn it a quarter to the right now you’ve got that opportunity to really change the positioning the grip sits in your palm wants to be really with that pad on the top now we’ve got this Kink with the left wrist pop the right hand on and you’re in a really really great position what does the grip Do It ultimately changes the face to path the face to path value is the king of all ingredients when you’re working with trackman I’m now going to rotate that grip a to the left to the other side of the quarter putp my thumb on now you can see the grip is weaker I now put my right hand on look how my right hand now sits on the golf club compared to the original grip I then make my swing I then strike the golf ball look at the face to path value 10.1 open I now change the grip a I turn it back to the center then I turn it a quarter of the width of the grip to the right put my thumb on gripping the pad put my right hand on make a Shar and all of a sudden my face to path value goes to negative my club path goes very straight we’ve been sold down the river on
