In this video, you are going to see me take on not one, not two, not three, four, five, but six of the very best tour pros in the world. [Music] See, it started knocking down that. What a shot. We’re going to be testing out the skills of major champions, tour winners, elite caliber players to see if they can come out on top against me. So, we’re over here in the beautiful United States of America in the charming state of Connecticut and we’re here with Titus at Wanog. Wenogue. I I I’m not entirely sure how to pronounce it. So, we have six skills challenges against six tour pros. We have short game, we have irions, and we have driving. And the task is simple. to take on each of these Torros in a matchplay point situation to determine who is better at golf. Torros or a YouTuber. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Okay. All right, we’re off and going. We got 10 stations. We are going around the green now. Short game for you, mate. Seen you play before. You’re exceptional from all of these distances. So, you beating me today should be really a foregone conclusion. As soon as you said a 60 yard pitch, I thought to myself, that’s about the worst shot that you could choose. Yeah. And I’ve definitely I’m not backing myself. Not at this station anyway. Maybe the other ones. Have we got 60 yards exactly here? I don’t actually know. I eyeballed it. Okay. 67. Oh, I should have been honest. I should have been honest. No, that’s the opposite of what I should have been. What’s the word? Dishonest. That’s it. That That was spinny. That That came out really nice. All right. Had a good chance there, Pete. Spun a lot like that actually, didn’t it? It did. Cool. Go, go, go, go, go, go, go. Oh, pretty close. This is your decision. Yeah, it’s probably one of the hardest shots in golf. And the sand is actually quite thick as well when you’ve got compact sand and but here slight downs slope thick sand. It’s um yeah, it’s one of the hardest shots. Setup wise, you just a little bit open or what’s the a touch open? I feel if I get too too square and go gap wedge or pitching wedge, I feel like the sole doesn’t really work through the sand particularly well. So, I still try and have a little bit of loft on the face, strike it a little bit closer to the ball and just hit it with a little bit more speed as well. I think anything within probably 20 ft here is a great shot really. Oh, sit. So, um, so we’ll take that. We were you playing for that unfortunately. No, no, no. Was trying to probably land it just short of the pin. Right. Okay. So, it was definitely a little clean. Um, but it came out well overall. I’m going to go Can I single shot? 54. No. Well, definitely two. I think somewhere in between those impacts, mate, we would have had a good man wants numbers. 53. 53. What you going with 60? And then go sandwich. Sandwich. Feel like the greens are are pretty soft. It’s definitely sits a little bit back to front as well. So, just feel like we can control height and spin a little bit better with this versus really nice. Such a lovely tempo on that. It’s really cool. I’m going to go I’m going to go six. Just feel a bit more comfortable with the loft, but obviously need to try and fly it. Yeah, easy. Yeah, easy. Yeah, I didn’t quite have that spin there, Aaron. What I was really looking for it looked like with the way it was struck, felt like it could have started to zip, especially off a bit of that back slot back. I think it might have just hit like the bottom, maybe a pitch mark, maybe just like scooted up the green. Yeah. And I’ve even got my yardage book for these uh for these ones around the green. So, I’m definitely taking it seriously. It’s a US Open yardage book. It is. Yeah. Yeah. There’s a lot of notes in there. A lot of numbers. How long have you had these yardages for? Too long. Have you been like that consistent with yardages for this long? Probably probably a couple of years, I would say. Like a piece of parchment. That’s like something you find in the British Museum. It’s definitely seen a lot of weather conditions for sure. I mean, we can drop it if you want. Yeah, let’s drop it. Let’s keep it random. Can we go sandwich? Yeah, I think firstly these kind of shots are always lie dependent based on see how it’s sitting, what choice of shot you’re going to play and whether choose lob wedge or sandwich. So feels like sandwich might work a little bit better. Again, I feel like the greens are soft enough where you can still control the landing where you don’t need a huge amount of height with lob wedge. Okay, fed away. So wow, that’s it. Big slope. I’m going to go one more. Just going to go the way that Aaron’s kind of broke away. I’m going to go a little bit further up to the left hand side. Yeah, lovely shot there. It’s not a white wash. I’m delighted. There’s a lot of pressure. I mean, look, look, your dad’s watching on as well. Do you mind being on camera, Aaron’s dad? Look at this guy. It’s like a secret agent just got off the plane. He’s like watching over me. I’m terrified. Quite a steep lip kind of coming onto that down side slope again. So as we work around the green and as we get to that back side it’s really tight. That’s coming straight down the slope. Good. Keep coming. Go. Go on. Release. Release. Oh, I thought I’d played that so well. That was nicely played there, Pete. Oh, mate, you’ve just been absolutely done there. Did that just check up a lot? I basically stopped there. Really? Oh, damn. Open up the blade a touch. We’re on a little ups slope. So, look at that. That came out like an absolute dog. Oh, hello. Balls back here. Just chis. No, no, you didn’t just No. No. What? What? So, what what what were you what were you possibly looking at? to the way that I chip. I have um different swing lengths which go a certain yardage in the air. So regardless of what shot that I have within probably 50 yards, I’ll always consult this with how far certain shots carry. So it’s more routine whether I’m practicing, whether I’m in tournaments, I’ll uh I’ll get my book out just to know how far I’m going to swing it. Man, that’s crazy. So you got a 60° here. Yeah. So we what we going on? So this is your Pitch it around 12. 12. So I know that’s 9 to 9. So like just like 9 to 9. Exactly. Yeah. It gives an element of structure and rigidity which kind of helps the feel to kind of work within. Whereas if I just leave it all to feel, I feel like there’s just too many things that can happen. Um but then if there’s no feel built into it, you don’t you don’t have the versatility that you need around the greens. Yeah. Yeah, nice shot. Very good. Easy. Just realized I almost styied you there as well. Yeah, nice shot. Very good. Good job. I’m not feeling nervous on these next few. So, we’re hitting straight onto the down slope here. So, I guess it’s a choice of either kind of pitching before running it up and letting it release or trying to get it onto the down slope. [Music] Right. So, similar shot here, but again, like we now got the bump to go over, so there’s no no option but to fly it. Similar kind of shot. Similar shot. Yeah. Maybe just a touch higher and softer. Just feel like standing on the touch more of a dance slope. [Music] I think that Yeah, I think that’s you Pete. You got a better leave as well. You’re putting back up the hill. So yeah. Yeah. I wish I wish that’s what it was about. So this one is literally just touch personify. We are hitting straight onto the downside. We got about a twoft area to land it on and then release out. Wow. These could be the softest greens you’ve ever seen in your life. Uh they were pretty soft last week. They were got a lot of rain. I didn’t see them on the weekend, but they were pretty soft. They weren’t soft enough. I I I underestimated them. I also think I hit the wrong golf ball. So, that’s a bad start cuz I think you have regular proies. I noticed it made a little different noise than normal. So, we’re thriving to start. I took so much time setting these up as well.
