The Interview That Shut Everyone Up.

If I can do that for three more days, I’ll be very happy. And uh a victory would be awfully nice, too. A victory. To me, that comes off as uh a little cocky or brash. Well, I when you come out here, your You know what I’m saying? Your first pro tournament, you say, you know, I can win. I’ve always figured that why go to a tournament if you’re not going there to try and win. I always explained to my dad, second sucks and third’s even worse. That’s just a feeling. But on tour, that’s not too bad sometimes, though. That’s not too bad. But I’ve I want to win. You’ll learn. I’m just kidding you. I’m sorry I had to say that. You’ll learn. You know, I have learned something. I think you’re better than I thought you’d be.

Speak it. Believe it. Become it.

  1. which idiot would say that to anyone let alone someone just joining the circuit – and as a pro himself he should know better about self confidence

  2. How can you be so ass in front of someone so humble. Hate to see people with this statut act like this. They don't deserve to have this job and to be publicly known.

  3. Tiger was so humble in the first interview. That interviewer ate his words so hard. Think hes carried a chip for never being good enough.

  4. I see a lot of criticism for the host, and it's deserved. But I also want to acknowledge his willingness to hold himself to account. If our culture never rewards and only punishes acknowledgement of fault, almost no one will ever do it if unforced.

  5. It’s like someone made White America in a lab and gave the result a job interviewing golf pros

  6. No one can know who the next GOAT will be. Tiger proved that the old ways were changing. It's interesting to consider that wound liquid core golf balls were being replaced by solid core balls for professional players in 1995.

  7. Poor Curtis, made himself look silly but this is nothing strange. Why would he be arrogant by trying to smash a man's dreams? He was afraid so, he tried to bully a younger competitor.

  8. Was this interviewer somehow trying to convey that just because it's your first tournament, you don't have the right to win? Do new players have to pay their dues in the political sphere before they can do well or something?

  9. I remember in the 90s when tiger was playing there was a lot of racism in the game and he had to deal with a lot against him. But his mental game was strong he didn’t let anything get to him.

  10. If you don’t have supreme confidence in your ability forget about becoming above average, let alone the best of all time. Tiger was driving further, putting more consistenly, and was younger than his competition. Before he fucked his marriage up he was on course to be the best player we’d ever seen and even after fucking up his marriage he still has a claim to being the best of all time.

Without the whole cheating scandal and how much it affected his game he’d of been the best of all time without debate.

  11. There was literally nothing cocky about this young man. He was not putting anyone else down, but simply being honest that he was fully focused on doing his best in hopes of maybe winning.
