Calgary’s Bearspaw Golf Club is returning to private golf club status in the new year.

The golf course, which was established in 1983, has operated as a semi-private club for the past five years, but had previously enjoyed fully private status before financial uncertainty forced it into receivership in 2018, the Calgary Herald reports.

One of the club’s investors said taking the club private again will help to make Bearspaw one of Western Canada’s preeminent golf clubs.

Growth in membership has recently gained in momentum, and a waiting list will soon be introduced.
