  1. You break your wrists right away. Keep them straight along with your left arm.

Looks like you’re starting the swing by picking the club up with your hands.

The backswing is coiling the body for release in the downswing. Arms, shoulders, hips on the way up, then hips, shoulders, and arms on the way down.

Start back by pushing the hands straight back til the left shoulder encounters your chin/head. Now, the shoulders continue to coil, adding torque to the hips. At the top of the backswing, pause for the transition. The downswing is just a reverse

Look at videos of swings from people with similar build and flexibility, but more advanced players. Pay attention to the transitions from arms, to shoulders, and then hips. Notice the pause at the top, then the reversal. The downswing starts with a slide of the hips, causing the arms and hands to drop. At this point, you should feel like you’re trying to hit the back of the ball with the butt end of the grip. Now is the time to continue the uncoil. The hips are forward and are starting to open as they move forward. Continue the side and rotation and pull the arms down and thru, releasing the hands so at the point of contact, the clubface is on the back of the ball, with the shaft leaning a bit forward. As the swing continues, when the club is parallel to the ground, the club should be pointing to your target. Now, just complete the finish. Hope this makes sense.

Put the mat on the grass and save yourself a ton of wear and tear

Try pushing the club head straight back behind you rather than back behind you. As it goes back your shoulders will begin to grin then the rest of your body and the club will end up more behind you at the top of the backswing.

You roll your forearms almost immediately and it whips the club inside. I should know, I did it for years
