Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James has taken up golf recently, and he encountered quite the challenge Saturday in some dense fog, as shared on his Instagram story.
News broke earlier this summer regarding James picking up golf, and that got the attention of Golden State Warriors star and avid golfer Stephen Curry:
Meanwhile, it was an eventful day for the Lakers, who signed Luka Doncic to a three-year, $165 million contract extension and then held a press conference after pen was put to paper.
Seven of Doncic’s Lakers teammates were on hand, including new L.A. additions Deandre Ayton and Marcus Smart. Other incumbent Lakers also made their way to the press conference, including Rui Hachimura and Gabe Vincent.
Not all Lakers were in attendance, including James and Austin Reaves, although the press conference was on short notice, as reported by Greg Beacham of the Associated Press.
Of course, James golfing (it’s unclear where he was playing) as opposed to being at the press conference is almost certainly much ado about nothing. The two have great respect for one another, and there were zero signs of discontent last year.
Doncic’s manager, Lara Beth Seager, even had this to say about her client’s relationship with James (h/t ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne).
So for now, the Lakers just made a huge move to solidify their future. James, meanwhile, is deservedly enjoying his offseason in advance of his 23rd NBA campaign.
