Haotong Li reflects on his T4 finish at The Open Championship playing alongside Scottie Scheffler. It wasn’t enough for victory but Li is proud of his play at Royal Portrush.

It’s pretty good. And like I said, I didn’t expect anything um like this, but uh I’m super happy to um to finish top four and get in the masters again. And I’m just looking forward to to back there again. It’s actually super common and he’s a such a lovely guy and to play with and uh we did a joke about each other a little bit and um just so nice to play with him. Were you playing? Especially I saw the leaderboard on the last three holes and um and uh I know I I know I need a actually couple more birdies to uh kind of jump in and also to secure my PJ tour card. I I’m sure I’m really close there as well. So um overall it’s just just very good week for me.

  1. I’ve been following Li for the past ten years and am so happy to see things fall into place for him this week. Hit a rough stretch a few years ago but, after a brief hiatus, persevered and seems to be regaining some form. Had an emotional win in Dubai earlier this year that has helped rebuild his confidence.

Comes across as a very pleasant guy whose animated style of play makes him fun to watch. Plays with some personality…something we’re seeing less and less these days; guys like Scheffler and Schauffle put me to sleep.

  2. I did not Haotung is only 29, he's still a youngster golf wise. He's got a great game and what a nice personality. Hope he plays more on the US tour
