Mt Kidd is the newer of the two, it has a more forgiving layout with less water and larger landing areas for your tee shots. You still need to plot your way around it thoughtfully. But it does feel like the simpler of the two from a golf perspective. The vistas are huge here. Lots of big views looking down the opposite side of the valley.

We had a slight delay on 14 due to a grizzly bear mother and her 3 cubs hanging out on the green.

Looks alright if you’re into beautiful mountain scenery, a great looking course, fresh air mountain air, blue skies, etc.

Think I will be hitting Alberta next summer. Guys did have trips to the states but, this beats the daylights out of anywhere we went.

Was fortunate enough to play both around 2004, and Stewart Creek in 2009(never tried Silvertip). I lived NW Citadel, was a pretty quick drive but nobody told me it was 25-30 km from the exit! Staff was incredible though , valeted my old car and told me to relax about being late

I believe I walked both times, which seems weird for a mountain course like this. $58 CAD for AB resident, yes it was 2 decades ago but I don’t think there has been a better bargain for a golf course, anywhere

    Thanks for the memories, OP

I’m going to play both this coming week. Always a nice summer tradition when you live nearby.
