THE much-anticipated East v West golf tournament returns tomorrow at the FSC Ba Golf Club, promising an action-packed day of top-tier competition.

The annual one-day event will see players from across the country competing in a 36-hole contest, with divisions spanning A, B, C grades, as well as Ladies and Juniors.

The tournament will be contested over two sessions. In the morning, golfers will play in a foursome’s format (alternate shot), teaming up within their divisions to battle for early points.

The afternoon session will shift to individual match play, where each win will earn one point for the team, and draws will add half a point.

The team with the highest total points at the end of the day will be crowned the 2025 East v West champions.

Tournament Director Rohit Chandra confirmed that Golf Fiji is fully sponsoring the event, with a $3,500 investment to cover all costs.

“Our goal is to promote the game and foster healthy competition among golfers across the country.

“Events like this bring players together, help develop their skills and strengthen the golfing community,” Chandra said.

This year’s tournament follows last year’s event hosted at Fiji Golf Club, where the East Team emerged victorious. With the West hosting on their home turf this time, fans can expect a highly competitive and spirited showdown.
