HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — StoneWater Golf Club’s PGA Junior League team, in its inaugural season, posted a perfect 4-0 record and finished second overall in total points in the Cleveland East League.
“Our squad showed up this season and played with heart, grit, and plenty of team spirit,” said coach and StoneWater instructor Joe Meglen, in a release. “This was only our first year in the league, so our expectations were blown out of the water.
“This incredible team officially put our StoneWater PGA Junior League program on the map — and we’re just getting started.”
The team’s standout performance earned two of its golfers — Mackenzie Atrzner and Cooper Wiegner — a spot on the Cleveland East All-Star Team. Both will go on to represent the league in all-star competition.
PGA Junior League is one of the top developmental team golf experiences for youngsters, offering a fun, inclusive, and team-based approach to the game. Complete with scramble formats, team jerseys, and a Little League-style atmosphere, it helps young golfers develop skills and confidence on and off the course.
While the Stonwater team went unbeaten, the title was won, based on total points, by the golfers from Shaker Country Club. In all, teams representing 10 area golf and country clubs competed.
The semi-private StoneWater Golf Club, 1 Club Drive in Highland Heights, offers access and opportunity to players of all backgrounds. The Junior League team — also coached by Christian Barto — had no membership requirements, underscoring the club’s commitment to growth, inclusion, and love of the game.
With a great first season under its belt, StoneWater’s team is looking ahead, as registration for the 2026 season will open on Feb. 5, 2026.
