Ahead of a well-deserved break from summer practices and workouts, the Kentucky men’s basketball team hit the links on Wednesday for some team bonding.
Head coach Mark Pope brought the whole crew out to play — or in some cases, learn for the first time how to play — a round of golf at Keene Trace Golf Club in Lexington. The entire roster and most of the coaching staff made the trip out, and luckily, photographers were there to follow their journey.
Otherwise, we wouldn’t have these “beautiful” pictures of Pope’s golf swing. Solid form, coach. What do we think he shot for the day?
We already know that Collin Chandler is a talented golfer from his adventures on the links this time last year, but what about the rest of the crew? Denzel Aberdeen posted a quick video of him missing a short putt on his Instagram story, so his game still needs some work. Mo Dioubate‘s stroke is in the development stage, too. But Jasper Johnson at least has the fist-pump celebration down, and Jayden Quaintance, still recovering from an ACL injury, was out there moving around with ease.
But the assistant coaches might have been having the most fun out of anyone — albeit at the expense of Mikhail McLean, who had Alvin Brooks III making fun of his form on Instagram. McLean took it in stride, though, posting a picture of Charles Barkley, a notoriously hilarious golfer to watch, as a way to poke fun at himself.
