LeBron James is the latest NBA star to take up golf, following in the footsteps of Steph Curry, Austin Reaves, and many others.
James recently posted a video of his golf swing on social media, and fans brutally mocked him for his awkward technique.
Thankfully, there are plenty of golfers, both professional and amateur, willing to help the Los Angeles Lakers player out.
The latest to give James some much-needed advice was the Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum.

Tatum is currently rehabilitating from an Achilles injury suffered during the 2025 NBA Playoffs, but it seems he can still play golf.
The 2023 NBA champion watched James’ video from a golf cart and recommended that he “loosen up” his swing.
“You know what, I’m just happy my guy is out there,” Tatum said. “It’s probably been a long time coming, but hopefully he keeps practising and the only way is up from there.
“[He should] loosen up a little, but he’s going to figure it out.”
Tatum’s advice must have been good, as it was similar to what former world number one Jordan Spieth suggested to LeBron.
“He could use his wrists more,” Spieth explained. “It’s kind of an arm swing, so he could just get a lot more power if he let that club flow and used his wrists a little bit.
“As he goes back, the club only gets to what looks like a half swing, so if he gets a bit more of a turn and throws his wrists into it, he could gain 30 yards in 30 minutes, which is kind of cool for… if he cares, whoever gets to coach him on that. He is going to be pretty excited about that.”
What Jayson Tatum said after playing golf with Jon Rahm
Jayson Tatum has been playing golf for over five years now, and two years ago, he even played with two-time major champion Jon Rahm.
They were paired together at a pro-am event before the 2023 St Jude Championship at TPC Southwind, near Memphis.
“You know, he’s my favorite golfer. Super cool, down-to-earth. We had great conversations. Pretty funny. So I’m glad it worked out,” Tatum told the PGA Tour after the round.
“You’re playing with the best golfer in the world. You know, as a professional athlete, how seriously they take it.
“So, you want to hit the ball straight, not embarrass yourself. After that first tee shot went down the fairway, I was having a good time.”
