A big part of the golf swing is the release. If you are trying to hit the ball solely with your arms your wrists release is too tight. This results in a loss of power and consistency. Give this 90 90 wrist drill a try. Once you unlock your wrists you will hit the ball longer and more solidly than ever.

if you kind of you know really want to make some changes just try this okay just try it every day give me five or 10 minutes like 25 swings minimum a day have a club sitting there or a training club and just grab it and just start doing the practice swings I’m telling you it will pay off big time in the future all right so this one I want you working on your release you can do this with irons you can do it with your driver we’re going to hold the club up in the air knee high okay up in the air there’s nothing to hit if there’s nothing to hit you’re not thinking about hitting cuz there’s nothing to hit when you hold the glove up in the air okay so about knee high don’t lower the club we’re going up in the air like this what I want you to do is I want you to hinge your golf club so meaning we’re going to create a 90° angle right here okay we’re going to come down like this and now we’re not going to hold this club like this okay don’t ever do this okay it’s gonna come down and then we need to release the golf club so we make a 90 degree angle on this side 90 90 90 90 I’m trying to get this club to get this type of action to it in order to do that you have to have loose wrist

  1. it hooks like a bitch whenever i've done this drill at the range. like seriously 80yd hook. does that mean i don't need this drill?

  2. Holy shit! Excuse my language. I have just had the worst inconsistent round of golf yesterday. I'm new to golf. 6 months playing. I just did what you said and then starting hitting my direction mat (not sure what it's called but it's got sequins and shows where you're hitting the ground). I've just done about 80 swings with four clubs and I've been hitting ball / ground, four to six, inches in front LITERALLY every time. I can't wait to get to the driving range and hit some balls. Thank you

  3. Me loose wrists lost club 😂always have that in the back of my mind. Am 1 month in just bought my first season ticket my balls are going right going left and just falling in front of me. So here I am. Great video please keep them coming. ❤

  4. Grip pressure, in my opinion, is the least talked about aspect in the golf swing. Soft wrists and forearms are so vital for strong, solid contact. Great information.

  5. I like that but it has to square up when it hits the ball, otherwise it won’t start straight. And if that motion through the ball is not right it’s probably going to fade slice or hook bad. And it has to hit solid too.

  6. I've watched you for years. Just lately, I've been trying to do this move. What usually happens is, I hit a few could drives. Maybe a few good iron shots, too…. It works, but only for a few holes before the big numbers come!

  7. Seems like ghe golf swing releasing like this becomes just timing. How can you swuare the club face if we roll the club over so fast? Your time ng eill have to be immaculate

  8. Can't do it. Are you twisting your wrist? I can't figure it out. My wrist hinge differently. I am overwhelmed and confused

  9. There are two ways to curl fingers around the handle of the club: contraction of forearm muscles, or stretching forearm muscles. The former locks up the wrist the more the muscles contract, the later creates consistent pressure but still allows a free waggling action in the wrists.

The way to get stretching is start like this 🤷🏼‍♂️ with elbow bent both arms externally rotated palm up then 🙏🏼 rotate hand palms together with club shaft VERTICAL which makes it easier to get the trail hand pad up over the V create by lead thumb/index finger.

Think of the pad of the trail thumb as the ‘pin’ of the hinge and the V the hole the pin needs to slide straight down into—critical for symmetrical wrist action .

The 🤷🏼‍♂️ then 🙏🏼 sets up the forearms to counter rotate ( ) when pulled straight as club lowers. That rotation of the forearms as they straighten with Vardon style grip applied with ‘pin in the hole of hinge’ will cause the forearm muscles to STRETCH and fingers to curl tighter but stay relaxed and not lock up the wrists. The grip will feel light and secure and you should be able to 👍 👉 waggle freely.

What will happen when club is lowered and arms are pulled
