Tiger Woods is accustomed to thrilling the fans at golf tournaments, but he was a fan himself Monday at Brook Hollow Golf Club.
That is because the 15-time major champion was being a supportive father and watching his son, Charlie, compete in the 2025 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.
Still, the legend looked like he was ready to play if needed:
Last month, Charlie Woods won a three-way playoff during the Eagle Trace Golf Club qualifier in Florida to clinch his spot in the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship field. There were five spots available from the qualifier, and the three-way playoff was for that fifth and final spot.
He was able to deliver in the playoff and make up for his final-hole bogey that created the situation.
The performance came after Woods picked up his first American Junior Golf Association victory in May when he won the AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational in Florida with a final-round score of 66.
Woods also played in the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship last year, although he shot 22-over and tied for 240th place.
He entered this year’s tournament with more momentum following May’s win.
However, he struggled on Monday and shot an 11-over 81. While he notched birdies on Nos. 9 and 18, he also finished with four double-bogeys during the course of his round.
