My ball’s come to rest on this path, which is an immovable obstruction. I’m entitled to free relief uh from here under rule uh 16. Now, I’d really like to take it over to this side because the green’s over there, and I’m going to get a nice free swing from over there. However, that would be the nicest point of complete relief. The nearest point of complete relief from this situation is in fact on this side of the path. I’m not going to like it, but I have to take it where the nearest point of relief is. And I can see that that is roughly this point here. I can make a swing. I’m not standing on the immovable obstruction anymore. So I’m going to have to take a drop there. I get a club length from that point. Just drop it behind it. That’s now technically in play. I’m going to have to just try and maneuver it from here. Not going to be able to do much with it. In fact, a hack out sideways is all I’m going to manage. Tough, but that’s the rule.
