Yes. Woohoo. Welcome to the first episode of the $1 vers $10,000 golf road trip. Three teams, seven matches, one epic 1,500 mile road trip. We’re traveling from the mountains of Colorado to the lakes of Idaho. But how we get there depends on how we play. We had a chance and we lost it. Win a match and you ride in a 600k luxury earth ror with a kitchen, king bed, heated floors, and all the comforts of a five-star hotel. Come in second, you get a Sprinter van, compact, capable, and still equipped with a bed, fridge, and enough room to stay comfortable on the move. And uh well, if you finish last, you’re stuck in a 1978 Toyota Chinook. And uh yeah, you have to sleep in whatever van you earn until the next match. At every single course, the slate resets. New match, new ride. Let’s get right into this. [Music] We ain’t got much to say before I let you get away. [Music] All right, boys. All right, welcome to the $1 car, the 1978 Toyota Chinook. Uh we’re heading to the airport right now to pick up the guys, get some of their initial reactions of seeing these vehicles. Yeah, I’m driving this sucker all week. So, stick shift, manual, 5-speed. She’s going to be making it up the mountains one way or the other. We’re in a convoy right now. Luis is mid-tier, which is actually pretty nice. I am in the Earth ROR, which is the big huge one. Kind of Lamborghini of RV. We’re going to see what the boys think. This is unreal. Oh my gosh, R. We cannot lose, dog. Oh my. Can you Can you sit? I know. Can you sit back here while you drive? Yeah. No shot. We get to sit here and play cars a lot more than cars. I said I hope me and Matt go off this week and none of the pros get to ride in the night one. We’re sleeping in here at night as well. We better get this phone char. Trust me. I mean, we might have to sleep together. We can cook in here. This shinook’s going to be great. You guys, there’s a water system. All right, let’s get the worst ones. Steve, wait. Get out of there. I’m getting excited. Sorry. You know what’s going to suck is if somehow in this T flip me and Matt get the the bad one. Wait, so we’re we’re sleeping in these? Yeah. I was about to say I would sleep in one of the chairs probably. This one you don’t really have room for two people. How do you even get how I don’t know if I can get up into that bed? No matter what, I’ll be happy with the outcome. I checked the weather gets hotter the more north we’re going. Maybe I do want those though. Oh, it’s a T flip to start. Yeah, I will say for this 20-minute ride, I would prefer something other than the shoe box. But one way to start this road trip is person that lands on first gets the middle vin. No, we would be dead. This isn’t too bad. If we’re in a 4-hour car ride in here or someone’s going to be sitting in the bed the whole time. Yeah, I have no problems with that. How do we turn? How do we How do we look out the window? How do I look out? Wow. Okay. Some fresh air. Yo, that’s actually sick. I just knew it. Something about like we I just knew we were going to lose this first T flip. But if we don’t lose the matches, none of this matters. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I agree. I agree. I think if we have our expectations that this could be us, this bus could be us. That won’t be as upset. I think we’re going to do a little bit better. Uh here’s the thing. I have to be in here. So, yeah, that’s true. I will say the nicest thing about this is the cab for making the tres between each destination. Like this is the most normal car. You can sit straight. You can sit forward. I like that the best. That is the one thing though. I’m being honest. It might just be me and Garrett. The Chinook sleeping arrangements are not that bad. Worth the drive. It’s not worth the drive though because it’s a sum. It’s a It’s a total It is It’s a total It’s a total sum of two things. I fully get that. I don’t know. Granted, how about this? I I think you’ll agree me on this. If the Chino AC, it’d be better than the Winnebago. I don’t know because of the riding aspect. This is Goose Chicken to Roger. Roger. We got Noacon. So the plan is I think at night they’re gonna be driving first. If this thing leads, you can actually see like heat signatures of a deer popping up on the thermal cam. So we tested it. It works. Dude, that is so dope. It is sick. Yeah, we’re going to die before we get there. Dude, this is not bad. I just Only thing I worry about is the sleeping arrangements. So I’m like taking a little nap back here. Yeah, I’m kind of chilling. scary when it shakes. But so the situation is this sucker is a manual, which we had the option to take the automatic, but I think the manual is going to be better for climbing the hills so we can if we need a little bit more girth to us, we can push it. We’ve almost made it to the course. And I I said it doesn’t seem very happy about it. This is the vehicle that I want tonight. I want to sleep in this vehicle. That is ridiculous out of you, kid. I think the temperature is going to be so good tonight. So if there was ever a night to sleep in this vehicle, it would be tonight. That is true. That’s the only thing I can agree with you on. Even though there’s going to be no AC, it’s going to be 50 throughout the night. We can curl up in some blankets back there. Yeah. Problem is, we have one blanket. Garrett, this thing’s hauling. And the first thing they hear, “Do you guys drive stick?” Everybody, we’re doing a 2v2v2 this whole road trip series. We have a variety of different challenges that you guys are going to see in different matchups or matches. Me and Matt will be on a team the entire time. Odds are probably stacked against us just based off of skill level. But that’s what’s the beauty of this. We’re fighting for our lives out here quite literally because I think this thing is a safety hazard. Be my little baby. No AC, huh? Actually wasn’t that bad. No AC. Luckily, it’s not too hot out. You keep the windows cracked. Yeah. The whole ride. Have you ever seen a drive range this beautiful? Never. Look at that. I don’t understand this. Like this is just beautiful. I guess it’s different. I’ I’ve lived in Illinois and Dallas mountains. nowhere near those places and then you take a flatlander and put them out here and they’re just like in awe of how gorgeous this is. I feel like the people watching probably get sick of all of us talking about how beautiful it is. But you really just have to it’s the first thing you notice. Just got to admire it. The one thing I’m excited for is you’re playing at 7,500 7600 ft of elevation. Meaning for me ball’s going to go far. I like that. Thin air ball’s going to go far. Yeah, I’m going to have fun. I got Sean on my team. He’s very good at golf. Steve is Brad. Brad’s very good at golf. I’m going to get on the range. I’m going work on ball position. Normally when I get that ball a little too far back in my stance is when I have that big hook miss. So move that ball up a little bit. Hopefully it should straighten some things out. I’m glad we started in Colorado number one because it’s cooler and we have to drive the van just in case I get stuck in that loop. Me and Brad are going to win this challenge just to make sure get on a good start. But once we play an alternate shot in different challenges where I come to play up a little bit more, it’ll be interesting. And also the other guys as well. We’ll see how we how we hold up.
