WHEELING, W.Va. — The Kalkreuth Amateur Golf Championship is set to return to Oglebay’s Speidel Golf Course on Saturday, marking a decade of fundraising success for the community.
Over the past 10years, the event has raised nearly $400,000 to support Easterseals’ mission of providing care for children and adults with disabilities.
“Seventy thousand dollars is a record donation for this event,” said Eric Filberto, president of Easterseals. “They’ve had it for several years, and this is the most they’ve been able to raise for Easterseals. In fact, $70,000 will cover about 700 medical or therapy sessions for local kids. That’s almost one-third of the children we see in a year and offer uncompensated care for, and Kalkreuth has paid for their care.”
The tournament, open to golfers of all skill levels, will adhere to USGA rules and commence with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
