The LIV Golf tour will return to the JCB Golf and Country Club for its second ever event in the UK on Friday 25th July 2025. The event will follow the standard LIV Golf format, with all players beginning from a shotgun start at 1.05pm on each of the tournament days, with 54 holes of golf being played across three days.

Spaniard Jon Rahm is the current holder of the trophy, as he finished 13 under par, ahead of Joaquin Niemann, Tyrrell Hatton and Cameron Smith last time around. Currently sitting in second place behind Niemann in this year’s standings, Rahm will remain to be a top contender once again.

Niemann will also prove a challenge at this year’s event. The Chilean is currently the leading points scorer on the tour, with four trophies already to his name this year. Niemann’s last outing was at the recent Open Championship, where he unfortunately missed the cut at the end of the second round. Following his sharp exit from the course, taking his frustration out on his bag, Niemann will be looking to turn around his fortune and his focus at this weekend’s event.

Bryson DeChambeau is another name that is inevitable to be in contention this weekend. After a disappointing display in the first round of the Open Championship left spectators expecting him to miss the cut, against all odds, he clawed his way back and into the top 10. This clear boost of form could prove deadly at this weekend’s competition, and he will inevitably be in the winner’s conversation at the end of the weekend.

DeChambeau is a player that is greatly missed from regular PGA events. His consistent contribution to Major tournaments proves his ability and his worth in the world of golf, and I think it is quite likely that Bryson will win another major (or two!) before the end of his career.

Other players to keep an eye for this weekend could include Talor Gooch and Abraham Ancer. Gooch comes into this one on the back of an impressive performance at Andalucia, which saw him come away as the champion of the weekend. Ancer also showed some class over the weekend in Andalucia, where he came up third. Having already finished second place earlier on in the season, and a handful of top 20 finishes, could this be the weekend for Ancer to claim his first victory of the year.

The Course

The JCB Golf and Country Club course was designed by Robin Hiseman of Europe Golf Design. It was first opened in 2018 and was immediately in Golf Monthly’s top 10 most exclusive courses in the Uk. The routing of the course takes players from farmlands to woodlands golf, with lakes present throughout the course.

The 506-yard 6th hole typically plays as a par five, however for the LIV pros it will be playing as a long par 4. This hole was notably the most difficult hole for the majority of the field last year, as it finished the weekend with a 4.364 stroke average.

Form Guide

Bryson DeChambeau will be the main contender heading into the weekend, as he often is. However, I think the victory could come from England’s own Tyrrell Hatton. Currently occupying 21st in the world rankings, Hatton has held consistent form throughout the year. With a recent top 20 finish at the Open Championship and a T4 finish at the US Open, as well as having three top 10 finishes and three top 20 finishes in LIV events this year.

To Win:

Tyrrell Hatton. On form and ready to shine.

Each Way:

Bryson DeChambeau. A course made for him.

Each Way:

Jon Rahm. A class act.

Who do you think will leave JCB with the trophy this time round? Will it be a usual suspect in Niemann as he claims a fifth LIV victory this year, or will someone battle it out and finish on top?
