Sorry for the repost, a commenter informed me I was doxing myself like an idiot 😭🙄. My main concern is the irons, is it stupid of me to get these exact shafts/build. And where do you guys do your research to find similar items? Like any good YouTube channels that break down the weights, brands etc I should look at?

This is how in-depth they’ve provided. My main question is for my irons how do you guys do research to find similar cheaper shafts?
I’m not an expert at all, but I’m completely shocked by the pricing on this. The clubs, fine, but there’s almost $2000 in, literally, gluing the heads to the shafts (okay, maybe they get all the swingweights spot on with digital scales as well…they freakin’ better). That’s insane to me. “Puring”(?), again, I’m not an expert. There *could* be something there, and very well may be, but I can’t imagine it would make any type of improvement to my swing that I would feel it’s worth $2k.
I’ve learned to do all of my club building myself, except for graphite shafts. I’m fine getting fit for something stock and going with that. For irons, I go get fit every few years to find the right shaft profile I’m in. Do I need something heavier/lighter? From there, I can get a set of shafts from Golfworks or Grips4less for $300 – $400, depending on the shaft, and then a set of kickass matching custom ferrules and grips for about $200. If I’m wanting new heads, you can get really nice lightly used sets from last year or the year before for pretty cheap. You can get them even cheaper if you find the ones you want with less desirable shafts on them (x-stiff or senior). It doesn’t matter anyway since you’re going to rebuild it.
If it were me (and just me, not the majority of other Redditors), looking at the above invoice, I’d find a stock shaft with a similar profile to the VA Composites shaft for the hybrids and order those custom direct from TM. For the irons, I’d find the most mint ZX4 (not ZXi4) set that I can find, preferably heads only, and purchase those shafts and just put them together myself. The entire cost would be a fraction of what is listed there. If this is what people pay to have golf clubs built then I need to retire from my normal 9 – 5 and get into this business. I’ll throw in the custom touches I put on my clubs for “free”.
What’s your goal here?
