friends Bill Hopson here we are enjoying perfection in Northern Michigan we are at Island Resort and Casino for the Epson Tour uh Championship the Island Resort Championship the third of three consecutive weeks for the Epson Tour to be in Michigan and we’re producing a sister course called Sage Run where we are shooting some content for another TV special about the perfect Forson group oh we have come to one of the most unique holes you will ever see anywhere this is the 16th hole architect Paul Elbanese is uh he’s creative so he talks about the glacier lines that cut through this property it’s called the Drumland i’m not trying to you know scoop him but he’s taught me this over the years and what Paul decided to do is that while most northern Michigan golf features a lot of downhill shots he’s mixed in some steeply uphill shots here so there’s a par three where it’s uphill like 75 ft and this is the par4 16th hole uh from the blue TE’s it’s about 320 but it’s 320 playing effectively about 400 so you have to hit a T-OT that keeps you away from the junk on the left you don’t want to miss left you got to get it up far enough to the right so that you have the ball roll back down into a flat spot of the fairway let’s see how this works pretty good really fun golf course by the way sage run it’s part of the perfect foresome um that perfect foresome includes Satron Sweetgrass Grey Walls and Timberstone the four of them have come together for quite a remarkable package frankly you play all four we stayed three nights at the in the resort the casino it’s like less than $500 a person for all of it it’s crazy all right here we go we got to get a good shot up the right side and get it high enough to break that plateau or else we’re going to have a second shot where we’re standing kind of like this quiet please that’s a problem yeah okay what we did there was the opposite of what we wanted to do if that’s ever happened to you in golf we wanted to hit it up the right side we ended up getting it over the left side but the good news is we carried it far enough to get over all of that uh bunker area and that natural waste area [Music]
