I’ve got in my hands the Tailor Made R seven Mini Driver and the Callaway Elite Mini Driver. Current versions of the Mini Driver for Callaway and Tailor Made for 2025. Let’s put them headto-head and see who wins. [Music] So, I’ve got the Tailor Made in stock settings. The two heavier weights are at the front. We’ve got 11 1/2° on standard, and we’ve got a Speeder 6S, which relates to something around 60 g and stiff flex. And in the Callaway, we’ve got the Denali charcoal in 60 g 6.0. So, it’s around 60 grams and it’s a stiff flex. Now, my first thoughts on these drivers, mini drivers are that again like the Callaway feels like a small driver. The Tailor Made feels a little bit more like a big 3-wood, which is a common thing was like that and the PXG both feel like big 3-woods. This is a bit more driverlike. One difference I do have is that the Tailor Made driver has a slightly bigger grip. We’ve got a plus4 midsize on the Tailor Made. So, it’s a bit bigger on this bottom half, which makes it a little bit harder to hit left, but I think it is actually harder to hit left anyway. So, if we get a couple away with the Tailor Made, sits a bit more closed and just holds out to that right hand side, which is a common thing that I’ve seen with this mini driver. And in the comments on other videos, people seem to be feeling the same thing or getting the same results. Not bad at all. It’s a push to the right. Lots of healthy numbers in there. Nice solid feeling impact apart from when you sky it. Well, I didn’t quite sky it. I hit that a little bit higher on the face. It’s still done all right, but it wasn’t a perfect strike. Let’s put some beans into one and see what comes out. Oh, that’s lovely. I do quite like this thing. Just to the right of center, getting up there a decent distance. So, same golf ball, but a different club. Does definitely feel more driverl like off the face. Little bit easier to shape to the left hand side. Oh, it’s different. So, I’m going to do the same thing. I’m going to put two stock swings on the club. So, normal feels, normal pace, and we get the same sort of result. Definitely easier to move over there. The shaft actually feels a bit softer, and I feel like the ball gets thrown up a bit more with a little bit more spin, which in a way is good because then it behaves differently to a driver. It doesn’t replace a driver. It sits next to it as an alternative, as something maybe better than a 3-wood. Now, if I try and chase one, and it’s the same loft head. It’s still 11 1/2°, but I do see more face. It’s just got that higher, spinnier flight. Wasn’t the best contact. Let’s give it another go. N a little bit thin. I’m trying too hard to get that Callaway to keep up with the Tailor Made. However, being different to the Tailor Made isn’t a bad thing. It’s like if you want one thing, if you want to replace your driver, Tailor Made could be a good shout. If you want something to sit alongside your driver and sort of be in the bag at the same time, then Callaway is more of a more of that sort of thing. Cuz I’m getting numbers that are similar to my 3-wood, maybe just a bit more reliable because the head is bigger. Can it get anywhere near 300? Oh, it’s all right. So, let’s see how these things compare in terms of data. I hit more with the Callaway and I had a couple that were just a little bit more spinny and a little bit more up there. Average without taking any out was 3,300 against 2,500 in terms of spin. That is interesting. So, that middle one in the Tailor Made wants to come away. And let’s get rid of the worst one in the Callaway. There we go. We do have a definite separation between the two. Peak height tailor made 85 ft. Callaway 105 ft. So we get a higher peak height. I finished 11 yards right on average against 15 yards left on average. Angle of descent is 34.3. So I’m coming in flatter, which will get more run. Coming in steeper at 40.9 on the Callaway. Side spin averaged out at 32 left. So fairly neutral overall. 386 of draw spin on the Callaway. And then when we go here, we’ve definitely got a different group between the two. Tailor made to the right, Callaway to the left. Spin, spin higher with the Callaway. Launch angle tiny bit higher, half a degree in it. Ball speed a bit more with the Callaway. I think there’s a little bit more face technology in there, but we get 270 against 277 in carry and we get 289 against 305. Now, a side note there is that on the last comparison I did, I didn’t quite get the Tailor Made as far as that, but I used a different golf ball. So, golf balls can play a big role in what you’re trying to do with your ball flight and stuff. So, when I compared it to the PXG, I had a spinnier golf ball. With that one, I had the Callaway Triple Diamond golf ball, which is a little bit lower spinning and a little bit more boring through the air. So, that’s why we’ve seen a little spike there. So, I use the same golf ball for both clubs, and we still see more from the Tailor Made. I see the Tailor Made as more of a driver replacement club and I see the Callaway Mini Driver as more of a secondary club to the driver just in general. But there we go. That’s how they both compare. Stick around and I’ll see you on the next video. And don’t forget to jump in the comments and hit the like button because that does really help the channel and I’m trying to go for that last little push towards 10,000 subscribers and we are nearly there. Thank you everyone so far.

The R7 is an absolute beast of a club
Come on 10K subs! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
I think having the weights in the back of the R7 would be a better comparison or get some weights for the Cally to move CG more towards the face. I have both and got some aftermarket weights for the Cally and it really changes the flight and feel.
Not having had an opportunity to test these clubs as they sell so fast, I bought a demo Callaway ti340 mini driver (11.5, stiff) a store was clearing out. I wonder how much I might have given up by not being patient to find a newer club. Can you get your hands on a ti340 and compare it to the Elyte mini driver? I wonder how much better, year to year, a club can get.
Do you know if Srixon will ever come out with a mini driver?
Exactly what I was looking for in the comparison. Hit the Taylormade at my local shop but they did not have a mini demo either so could not hit them side by side.
R7 vs 2024 Brnr if u can get ur hands on one
Thanks for the video Freddie. I was poking around the used clubs at a local shop and came across a Taylormade 300 mini driver that I just had to try. While I wasn’t in the market I found it very confidence inspiring. I wasn’t having to be as cautious as my Driver swing with it. I certainly see the interest in the mini driver to add to the toolbox.
