You’re slacking, man. I know. And I am totally slacking. You are right. Let me get you back up on here, Chris. Oh, now it’s wanting to make you full screen. Well, we’re just off to a resounding start. How about that? There we go. Joining us this evening is my co-host, the Wild Man, Chris Wilds. And we’re hoping he joins us. Ryan was with us for a hot second. Uh it looked like he was on Bourbon Street. He was definitely on vacation somewhere, Eric. Yeah, that sure looked like he was he was on with his cell phone for a hot second. We said hi to him and then he was gone. Uh let’s see what he has here in the in the old uh if he’s sent me a uh a text message back yet. But uh anyways, hopefully he’s able to get on and join us this evening. Tonight is a big night for for us here at the OHL podcast. We’re trying to raise the additional funds needed to uh build that second little free library. This one in your neck of the woods, Chris, in Marian County. The first one has been a resounding success here on the east side of Delaware. We’ve filled it up now three times already and we’re going to have to do it again. We drove by it again today and uh it was looked like it was half empty already and when Sarah went back Ryan uh to the store, Ryan handed him uh Rand Ryan handed her uh multiple boxes of books. So uh we’re hoping that all is well and everything continues to do really well with that little free library. So, we’re hoping to build another one, Chris, in your neck of the woods, and we’ll see how this goes here. Ryan, can you hear us? I can hear you now, man. This is great. And you know what? The reason why I couldn’t uh couldn’t get on with you guys before is because I got a Samsung and I get made fun of all the time from my kids. And meanwhile, you know, we’re here in Florida on vacation and they’re about to go into a restaurant and I told my son, I was like, “Hey, man. I’m having a hard time getting on this stuff.” He says, “Dad, it’s cuz you got an Android.” So, he gives me his phone and I’m I’m on Nolan’s phone, so it’s all good. I mean, I I just needed the young kids to hook me up so I could be on the podcast today. So, there there we go. There we go. Good to have you with us, Ryan. I thought at first maybe it looked like Bourbon Street. I was like, is Ryan on? Yeah, it kind of looks a little bit like Bourbon Street, doesn’t it? Yeah, it looks better than what’s what’s happening in Delaware, Ohio today in Marian, Ohio. That’s for sure. Oh, shoot. Yeah, we’re having a good time. But I mean, I tell you what, man, you guys are amazing. And what you guys have been doing with Second and Seven has been phenomenal. And you know, I’m I’m certain that things have been going well um with the church and what you guys have been doing there. Yeah. Um it’s funny because you know I Obie Stillwell and uh a couple other individuals that I play with at Ohio State, they mentioned that their church was talking about Second and Seven today in their congregation in their uh in their service. So, I I just was thinking about how how crazy is that that I’m having buddies tell me about their services and I’m going to go on Eric’s podcast today and talk about how awesome Second and Seven’s been for their congregation. So, yeah, it’s been a neat day. It It is. It’s been It’s been awesome. I was kind of updating everybody. Ryan was Sarah came down. She stopped by. I think it was a couple weeks ago. You handed her two boxes. She was handed a couple boxes. Ryan, we’ve already been through our third box of books in that little library. kids. Well, you said it from the beginning, you know, that there was a need and uh and you know, God bless you for just rolling up your sleeves and making it happen because you know, that’s just the difference between, you know, getting something done and and just thinking about getting it done is just rolling up your sleeves and doing it. And uh and you guys did it. And I’m I’m proud of every single one of you guys for for doing that. We’re not done yet. We’re raising money for a second library here. And so tonight we’re hoping to raise uh somewhere around $500. Scrolling on the bottom of the screen is my Vinmo. Now you can super chat if you like, but uh YouTube takes 30% off the top of everything. That’s that’s how they pay the bills. Vinmo will not. So if you want 100% tonight that you want to give to go to this this next library, you can do so by Vinmoing it. Vinmoing me. It’s on the bottom of the screen there. Eric-boggs-15, the old high school number there. That’s uh that’s where you can Vinmo me and it will come directly to me and we will we’ll be adding that up tonight. I I have my Vinmo open. So, if anybody uh and Chris, we got $100 already. Nice. Oh, that’s pretty. There we go. So, we’re we’re off and running with the super chats or the Vinos here. So, that means we’re up to $600. We need $400 more, guys, to get to that second uh free little free library we want to raise with Second and Seven. Um, we’ve got a great show planned tonight, guys. Let’s dive into it right off the bat and get Ryan’s opinions on some of this. I can’t wait to hear Chris your opinion on this one. I know it’s going to be heated. Well, Porto Noi is in the news again. Uh the guy that old that old booger up there from a state up north. Uh the Barcel sports president Dave Portoi. Uh super big um Ohio State fan, right Chris? Um here we go. Our first super chat tonight. $5. Hey Ryan, welcome. Did you take a 400 or 500 level world geography class in the summer of 1995? I think it was in Denny Hall. Absolutely I did. And I remember to this day that’s why I remember uh all of the u the capitals throughout the country. My kids are now in in school and they’ll say things like uh you know what’s the capital of Norway? Of course I’ll know Oslo and they’ll be like why how did you how do you know that? Well it’s because my man just told you I had that world geography class. That’s right. I did really well in that class. You must have been in there with me. Dave Partnoi, the president of uh Bartool Sports, is going to be the new, I guess you could say, entertainment uh for Big Noon Kickoff. Now, Ryan, I’m sure you know and have heard and and all of us Ohio State fans talk about how Ry how Ohio State has been carrying the water for big noon kickoff for the last few years. And it seems like um boy, they’re stirring the pot here a little bit with Dave Portoi coming on. He’s obviously the answer to ESPN’s game day where they’ve got uh oh, what’s his name there from Pat McAfee? Thank you. It’s the Pat McAfee answer for Fox there. Your thoughts on Dave Portoi? A lot of Ohio State fans are not happy about this. Yeah, I would I would agree. I mean, it is uh it seems that they are trying to poke the bear a little bit to be honest with you. Um and I think that that’s just where we’re at in broadcast journalism. is trying to get some type of reaction regardless of uh of what takes place on the field or even off the field for that matter. I mean, it’s just uh he’s just trying to draw uh some excitement from fans or upsetness from fans to flip on the channel. Um the guys are entertaining. I mean, there’s a lot of people that don’t like, you know, uh Pat McAfee either. And uh you know, the dude’s entertaining and u he seems to turn on a lot of TVs. I mean, and this has been going on for years, though, guys. I mean, whether it’s these the latest guys that are more YouTube sensations, um, with their with their podcast or, you know, years ago, guys just saying random outlandish things. You know, I can remember when I was in school, you know, there was some guys that were talking about the quarterback for Notre Dame winning three Heisman Trophies and just spouting off a bunch of nonsense. And those guys were like the the most popular broadcasters because they just said a lot of just crazy things. And this this isn’t old news. It’s just a newer person doing the same thing that we’ve seen now for the last 50 years. Just create a lot of, you know, drama. Get people all bent out of shape about it and then just count your cash when people are, you know, watching the TV commercials. Yeah, exactly. Chris, here we go. He wind up He’s been wound up for this one. Oh, I I can tell he’s wound up. Chris, take it away, man. I was a little more a little more tame. I’m going to let you go at it. Well, let me tell you, Box just absolutely threw a Molotov cocktail right on its own credibility by giving that loudmouth, arrogant Michigan meatthead Dave Portoi a regular seat on big noon kickoff. This is a guy who’s nothing more than a frat boy stick with hot takes that have zero depth and a middle school understanding of college football. This isn’t about analysis. Portoi doesn’t belong at the same desk as real analysts like Urban Meyer or Brady Quinn. Men who have got actually been in the trenches who understand the game. This guy just sits behind a phone or a computer and tweets while scarfing down pizza. The guy’s whole persona is a Michigan fan who confuses obnoxiousness and thinks yelling over everybody is some kind of of I don’t know journalism and it’s not. This isn’t edgy college football. This isn’t edgy coverage. Pat McAfee has an understanding of the game. This isn’t edgy coverage. This is lazy. This is ignorant on the part of Fox Sports. I understand they’re going after a younger demographic, but bringing bar style content to Fox Sports, it reeks of desperation. Just to watch a guy with no journalistic in integrity, no football IQ spout off like his word is the gospel. I mean, we’ve already seen ESPN’s numbers start to drop off because they went to gimmick over substance. Now Fox wants to copy that same ridiculous playbook. You think Portoy can really go toe-to-toe in an intelligent football conversation with Urban Meyer? It’s going to be like a beanie well stiff arm to the face with this guy. It’s just it’s bad optics optics. It’s a slap to the face of Buckeye Nation who you have been using to carry your program now for two consecutive seasons. You’re you’re letting some smug chest bumping clown who worships Jim Harbaugh like he’s a prophet and pretends that Michigan’s little four-year blip on the radar half of which came from cheating erases the decades of domin domination that the Buckeyes have had. Cory Nord didn’t speak for the Big 10. He doesn’t speak for Buckeye fans. He doesn’t speak for Spartan fans. He doesn’t speak for Badger fans. He is simply a Michigan fan. He is He is Howard Stern with Desmond Howard’s mentality. That’s all the guy is. He’s a joke and Fox is doing nothing but exploding their own brand by bringing him on. Uh $5 super chat from Ryan Day’s championship beard. Build the library. Go Bucks. Thank you RDCB. Appreciate that my man. So, we’re up to $110 tonight so far. Uh uh saved up uh uh donated tonight for that second library. Thank you so much, everybody. Keep them coming this evening. Uh Chris uh someone said, “Why don’t you tell us how you really feel?” Um Dave Portoy to me is he’s he’s good at what he does. He’s a gimmick. Um he’s a he’s a a loud voice, right? Um and and and it’s it’s going to rally it’s going to stir up the Ohio State fans game one week one. You know he’s going to pick Texas to win that game. You know he’s going to be there in his crown. He’s going to be making fun of all the Ohio State fans. You can be sure Urban Meyer will be ready. Urban Meyer will have something to say. Probably something about uh 7 and0 you know things of of that nature. So, um I’m not too worried about it. The question is at some point, uh Ryan, do you think Ohio State will at some point say to Fox, “Guys, we’ve played, we need to let you need to let us have some night games here against some good teams. Every big game Ohio State has when it’s at home seems to be a noon kick on Fox.” And it’s because that’s, you know, that’s Fox’s way of getting the money pulled in here. So, uh, at some point you got to feel like like Ross Bork’s going to say, you know, to the Big 10, guys, it’s someone else’s turn here. Let us have a night game. Yeah. You know, that’s a great point. And, uh, I’d love to get Ross Bork’s opinion and and kind of his thoughts on this that situation. I I don’t know, to be honest with you, how close they are to, uh, being able to have that kind of leverage. I I think Ohio State has the kind of leverage that they can start to have those conversations, but clearly um there’s a reason one way or another for all parties involved to have it have these bigger games at noon. Um you know, a night game obviously would be a little bit better for maybe fans and atmosphere and enthusiasm. I mean, players noon, 8:00 p.m., 400 p.m., 3, it doesn’t really matter. So, like I think we’re starting to split hairs a little bit from a um from a time of day that we’re we’re talking I mean shoot Ohio State Michigan for years and years and years was a noon kickoff, right? And so it suddenly or if we change it to 8:00 p.m. does that make it a bigger game? I I don’t know. I mean it definitely um gives you more time for people to get excited prior, you know, pregame. Um you know, weather obviously is always an issue. Years ago, you know, they had those big games at noon because you didn’t have lights. Um, and then once the stadium started become having lights, then it was like, you know, and I think we start thinking about it from Ohio State perspective. We start looking around the country like, “Oh man, these guys are so cool playing these night games.” I mean, I don’t know. I just think, you know, whether we play them at noon, play them at 9, I it doesn’t matter, man. I’m just pumped we’re playing big time opponents. Like that’s the key to me is like we want to play the best of the best every single game that we play in Ohio Stadium. And I think that’s where we’re getting. And then then we can start fudging with like what time we’re playing them, but like man, you know how long it took Texas to get I mean I know we played them not too long ago in the shoe, but man, when I was in school, Texas wouldn’t come up to play Ohio State. Like it was hard to get those kinds of games. We played Notre Dame. It was the first time since like 1936. Like that’s like like you know 50ome years, 60 years between games like that. So like I’m just pumped that we’re starting to see these games year in and year out. the schedule will look amazing here in the next five years. Um, obviously we can nitpick at what time of day, but and I agree with you guys, it’s got to do something with Fox, but hey, look, I’d rather have a noon game against Texas than an 8:00 PM game against, you know, Bowling Green. Well, we’re going to get that too, unfortunately, in this uh I think it’s Ohio. Oh, you and by the way, there’s nothing wrong with Bowling Green because we I played them when I was in school. Eddie’s the coach. I love Bowling Green, but just from a fans perspective, I think they’d rather have Georgia coming into the shoe at noon than have, you know, uh maybe a max school at 8:00 p.m. That’s just all I’m saying. Now, as a player, Ryan, I’ve heard a lot of players say they would rather play at noon anyways. They want to they would rather play. It’s easier. It’s easier on the players. You know, your your schedule’s a lot better. Like look at there’s nothing worse than waking up in the morning and then you got to stress out about playing that game at 8:00 PM. All you’re thinking about all day long, your your emotions are running high. You’re trying to keep an even keel. I mean, look, especially a defensive player, you’re you’re trying to get to that fever pitch. And I now I got to slow play getting my mind right and getting it ready for 8:00 p.m. I mean, I woke up on on level 10, right? And now I got to like calm down and get back to 10 by 8:00 p.m. That’s a lot harder in my opinion than getting ready to, you know, jump off the top of the stadium at noon. I I just think it’s a lot easier to play football earlier in the day um than waiting around. And most of my buddies would agree. Now, if you’re playing every single game at 8 PM, then you start to get that continuity and consistency of your schedule. But, you know, as it is, I mean, these guys are going through camp. you’re not practicing at 8:00 PM at 8 p.m. and you’re gonna show have a game at 8 p.m. So, I don’t think it’s as advantageous from a playing standpoint as maybe is maybe just from a fan perspective. It’s more exciting. It’s dark. You can have light shows, fireworks, all that fun stuff. So, yeah, entertainment wise, it’s definitely better at night. Um, if you’re trying to, you know, think of the ball control every time Ryan, your your audio is breaking up really bad, man. So, you might might need to uh hop out and hop back in. Did we lose him? I think his I think his internet went dark. No, he’s still there. But his his internet signal is pretty weak. It looks like Yeah, you might you might Ryan, if you can hear me, you might want to hop out and then hop back in. Sometimes that clears it up when you have a bad connection. Uh Chris, I’m going to get your opinion here while Ryan works on that. Um what do you think, man, when it comes to the night games, the noon games, and what Fox has done here? And does is there any is there any I guess correlation, if you will, between uh Dave Portoi here and and what that’s going to mean for us? Well, you know, I don’t think Dave Portoi means anything except that we’re a little more canankerous as a fan base when we get to that stadium. Uh, you know, overall I think what Ryan was trying to explain is, you know, from a player standpoint, they don’t care because they’re just going to go out there and take they want to get out there and take somebody’s head off. Uh, you know, they’re ready to go. Um, but Porto’s I think you know, we talked about how the fans can be a little flat at those noon games, Eric. Yeah. I don’t know what Portoi might not backfire on him. he might get these fans just pissed off and ready to go. But, you know, to me it just I don’t like it. I think it was a slap in the face to Ohio State who’s been carrying your program for, you know, the last couple your big noon kickoff for the last couple years. Um, it was a slap in the face. Uh, you’re not controversial, you’re just being foolish is what this is. Um, this guy is for Fox to give a live mic to a just a controversy time bomb wrapped up in a Michigan hoodie. That’s all this guy is is just ridiculous. It’s insane. Yeah, it’s total stupidity. But, you know, I think there’s two approaches Ohio State fans can take to that. One, if you don’t like it, don’t watch Fox programming. Turn on Yeah. Turn on the football game if that’s the only channel it’s on. Turn on the football game. Turn down the volume. Tune in our game watch parties. Yeah. Uh, you know, uh, the other option is, you know, don’t watch any other Fox programming at all. You can either take that boycott approach or you can say, you know what, I’m going to take this idiot’s point of view. I’m gonna let it fuel my fire and I’m just gonna make me that much more angrier, get that much more hyped up when I’m at the shoe. Yeah. So, I think it comes down to what they want to do with it. Ryan’s working on his his audio. He’s jumped in and out a couple times. He’s trying to find a good place where he’s got a better connection. Everybody, uh, so we’ll give him a few minutes to work on that. Um, he’s he’s down in Florida, obviously on vacation. And even though he’s on vacation, Chris, he’s still joining us this evening. What a what a we’re we’re too honored for that. There he is. Welcome back, Ryan. Uh $5 super chat from Bobby Matt. Chris, I’m with you. I dislike port annoying because he is such a pompous uh yeah, pompus a a hat. We’ll say that. All super chats tonight going to second and seven. That’s $115 now raised. Thank you, Bobby Mack. It’s for the kids, everybody. Chris and I are not keeping anything tonight. If you want to make sure we get 100% of your donation and that YouTube doesn’t take any off the top, you can Vinmo me. You’ll find that scrolling at the bottom of the screen. My Vinmo, it all goes to Second and Seven as we try to raise money tonight uh for that second uh little free library that we’re trying to build there and uh with Second and Seven and Ryan. So, we appreciate that. Um and some of the other news that was going on, I I I’m I’m hope Oh, we lost Ryan again. Dog on it. I was hoping to get his opinion here. Um, I will start with yours first, Chris. So, I’ve I’ve made a couple videos, guys. Um, and the last couple days, and I don’t think they’re terribly controversial. They’re basically just me reading the tea leaves of what’s going on here. And, uh, I was really hoping to get Ryan’s opinion. We’ll give him a couple minutes to try to get back in because Ryan’s nephew, so I think it’s his sister’s child, just graduated from Upper Arlington this past year. And he was um uh he was being recruited by several schools. He ended up going to uh Michigan State if I recall correctly. U which was one of the schools Ryan was recruited by uh when he was in in in in high school. Um anyways, um great question, Buck Vader. So Chris and I talked about this. I can’t and the reason why I can’t is my stepson plays Saturday morning on the freshman team. And so I can’t I can’t I can’t miss all of his games doing that, but it is something we thought about. It’s something we kicked about around Buck Vader. Great question. Anyways, so recruiting recruiting Ohio State recruiting has taken a little bit of a slip here uh recently and I’m really interested to find out what you all think about that. Ryan, are you are you back with us, buddy? Can he I love I love he’s smiling and walking looking at them houses. It looks like he’s on a golf course. Can you hear us, Ryan? I don’t think you can hear us, sir. I don’t think so. We’ll get We’ll give him a second here. Anyways, so Chris, I you know, I look at what’s going on with recruiting and uh I I just can’t help but think something there’s something up there, right? So, what what what what could it possibly be? Well, the rumor is is that that Ryan Day and Ross Buork aren’t on the same page. They’re not seeing eye to eye when it comes to how to spend NIO in recruiting. We all know that Ryan Day and company have a plan when it comes to how much money they’re going to spend on recruiting, right? Player retention is number one. Ryan Day has always talked about that retention is number one, transfer portal number two, and then recruiting is number three. Yes. Understanding that, right? When you look at how the recruiting is going for Ohio State versus what how it’s going for some of those other schools currently, um it’s it’s easy to see that these other schools are out bidding Ohio State for some of the bigger name guys. Um Felix Ojo $5 million to sign with Texas Tech. There’s no There’s no way. There’s no way um that that’s going to uh uh there’s no way that that’s going to um be a um be something that Ryan Day is going to do. There’s just no way. Why would you spend $5 million on one guy when I don’t even know they’re spending that much on their current entire offensive line to be completely honest with you. And so when you look at that and then you look at the roster, Chris, I I counted it today. I think let’s see if I can name them all. I counted five seniors coming back who are going to start more than likely. Um, see if I can remember them. You’ve got Kaden Curry on the defensive line. Um, I put CJ Hicks in that. He might start, but he’s a senior. He’ll be impacted if he doesn’t. Sunny Styles. Mhm. Um Davidson Igmanosen. Mhm. That’s four, right? Um and then CJ Donaldson out of the transfer portal was five. Did I miss anybody off top of your head that you can think of? What about the left tackle from Rice? Is he a senior? [Music] I thought he had two years of eligibility. I thought he had two. I think he does. Let me know in the chat. Chat, let me know if uh if the the the transfer from I mean it’s easy enough to pull up and find out, but if from Rice how many years of EL eligibility he has left. Uh Bobby Mack said, uh I’m going to do the donation directly to them. So the bank will double it for them. Go ahead, man. I’m I’m not telling you um how to do that. I just know that that donation I don’t think gets counted towards uh the little library that we’re trying to build, Bobby Mack, just just so you’re aware. I think that’s just directly to their uh donation fund that they have. So, I’d have to double check with Ryan on that, but um um anyways, uh that appreciate that the donation either way. Um Ethan Ethan Oni is a is a senior trainer. Okay, six. There’s six, but two of those six from the transfer portal, right? Correct. So again, that’s part of what I was saying. Player retention, transfer portal two, and then and then recruiting three. So when you look at that, you take that into account, Chris, and then you look at where most of the talent lies, there are juniors and they are sophomores. are second and third year guys. Look at what we did in 2024. All those juniors who would have went to the NFL all came back. You did miss one by the way, Eric. What? You did miss one. Lorenzo Styles senior. I don’t know he’s going to play. I don’t know he’s gonna start. Fair enough. So that’s one of the reasons why I didn’t count him. I just don’t know he’s going to start. Uh maybe he will. Uh thank you Bobby Mack. I see that. Appreciate that. Um anyways, that’s getting back to what I was saying. So when you when you look at that Chris and you take that into account, well we’re not spending a lot of a lot of money right now on on these recruits and all this money and we’re start losing out on recruits and it is it is it possible just asking if if this is possible if conversations have been had between Ryan Day and the coaching staff and you know and and all these guys behind the scenes who are working with the NIL and they say we have the possibility in 2026 to have a roster that looks a lot like it did in 2024 and we know that. Mhm. Yeah. I mean that that’s absolutely possible. I’m just saying. Um but but you know, here’s the thing. I I think a lot is being made of this disagreement, if you will, between Day and Bork. And I I don’t know how much it’s just a rumor. I think it is just that. I think it’s just a rumor. Uh you look at this and I think that what Ohio State is doing is well, it’s it’s twofold. One, I think Ohio State is preparing for August 1st. I think they’re trying to do things the right way. I don’t think they’re trying to frontload contracts like the team up north. I don’t think they’re offering monopoly money like the people at Texas A&M. I think they’re trying to do everything the right way. And the other thing is, and I still believe this 100%. I I believe that Ryan Day is still placing culture over the bag. He is still working on getting the right people for his system. And he doesn’t want to deal with people who are the kids who are just out there for this bad culture. These kids who are going to end up transferring more than Tate Martell. these kids who are, you know, out there, they walk on campus and the first thing they want to talk about is how much money you’re gonna give them through NIL. You know what, guys? After August 1, we don’t really determine how much you’re going to get through NIL. It has to be approved. So, what’s going to happen to all these guys who have been getting promised things, Eric? all these guys at Texas A&M, all these guys at Michigan, all these guys at uh, you know, Texas and Florida, when what’s going to happen when the the NIL ZAR comes in and says, you know what, no, no, these deals aren’t valid. No, that’s too much money. No, you cannot give this kid that. Um, I think Ohio State’s going to be in a much better position when that happens because they aren’t lying to the kids. They aren’t giving the kids false hope. They aren’t giving the kids monopoly money. They aren’t frontloading contracts, which is not a sustainable way to do business. They are doing what they’ve done since NIL started. They are giving money to the guys who have earned it. They aren’t going out there and throwing 10 million at a quarterback who’s never thrown a pass. They aren’t giving five million to a a tackle who’s never played a snap at the collegiate level. That’s just foolish. And I really wish Ryan was on here right now because Yeah, I just got a text from him. Yeah, Ryan believes the same thing. Yeah, I just got a text from him. He said, “Hey guys, sorry it’s not working. Uh, I’ll rain check with you guys. I’ll be back on soon.” So, we’ll get Ryan back on when he’s back back here in Ohio. Yeah. Let me send a message to Sean and see if he wants to jump on with us. Yeah. But Well, Sean was in the chat, wasn’t he? Yeah, he was. But yeah, to to me, guys, this is absolute insanity. You are going to have so many kids. I’m going to call it right now, Eric. You are going to see more freshmen in the portal this season than ever before because these universities when the the August 1 deadline hits, the universities are not going to be able to honor these NIL agreements. The only way they’re going to be able to honor them is if we go back to the old brown bag. And I have a feeling that that’s what we’re setting ourselves up for. It it very well could be, man. And I I don’t know, dude. It’s it’s it’s interesting to me to think about what um what it all means in in the grand scheme of things because you’ve got some people who are arguing that the NCAA and and these guard rails that they’re trying to put in place and that obviously Ross Buork and and Georgia for another another school for by instance, too. Yes. are playing by these rules all of a sudden and you’ve got people out there like Texas Tech who are like, “Yeah, no, we ain’t gonna do that.” What’s Texas have to lose? When was the last time they were running? True. That’s a good point, Chris. What do they have to lose? If If the NCA doesn’t come down on them like a ton of bricks, they look like geniuses. If the NCAA does come down on them like a ton of bricks, so what? Basketball season’s coming up. baseball season’s, you know, six months away, right? Yeah. So, it it’s it’s really interesting when you when you break it down and you look at it because I would think that coming off of a national national championship season. Um, you would think this would be an amazing recruiting season for Ohio State. And it started off to be that way and then it it has totally lost steam. And it’s lost steam as some of these guys, some of these players have basically Chris taken. What’s the highest bid? Right. Right. What what what how much money can I get here? What And I can’t blame them, you know, Chris. I mean, it you know, depending on their situation or or what their goals are and things here, you know, it you can’t blame them all the time. So, you know, it is what it is. Hey, Sean, what’s going on, buddy? Hey, guys. What’s up? Well, Ry Ryan was uh unable to to get get to get it to work while he was down there in Florida. And so, uh you’re going to have to be Ryan Miller tonight for us for the rest of the show. You think you can handle that? Wow. That’d be an honor to follow such a great great linebacker and great Buckeye. So, it’s a privilege to sit in his seat for a little bit. Uh, Ryan Day Championship beard. It’s all about what these kids can get for money. You could, you would think it would be about development and being in a winning culture. I mean, Felix just committed to Texas Tech. Texas Tech doesn’t win. Texas Tech is the preseason favorite to win the Big 12 this year. Felix is not the only guy that Texas Tech has paid. Texas Tech, they bought a ton. Texas Tech got the number one transfer portal class in college football. They are they are all in on on on buying a championship in the Big 12. I don’t think it’s going to be good enough to win a national championship. I I think I don’t even think they think that, but they’re trying to win a Big 12 championship. And like you said, Chris, what do they have to lose? If they’ve got the money to spend for it, I guess go for it. Yeah. I mean, and I I I agree 100% with I don’t like what they’re doing, but I understand what they’re doing. They’re taking their shot, Eric. Yeah. That’s all this is. They’re taking their shot. And again, if they get shot down, so what? It’s exactly what Ryan Day’s championship beard was saying. Texas Tech doesn’t win anyhow. There’s nothing they’re going to lose here. They are testing the system, just throwing it up against the wall to see what sticks. Yeah. This is where the NCAA has to come out and be strong right out of the gate. Yeah. So, Ohio State is seventh in the 247 sports composite rankings. It goes USC 1, Georgia 2,&m 3, Notre Dame 4, Texas 5, Alabama 6, Ohio State 7. Now, what what all those schools except for Texas and Alabama have in common that are ahead of Ohio State is they have a lot more recruits. Ohio State’s overall composite average score is still really, really good. It’s the fourth best in college football at 92.35. So, some of that is quant as qual as quantity over quality. Yes. in in those. Um, how is ASU not the favorite to win the Big 12? Uh, then Scataboo is no longer there. Scataboo was their entire team last year. I mean, he literally drugged them to a college football playoff and almost he almost beat Texas almost single-handedly. He ran for a touchdown, threw for a touchdown, caught a touchdown. Scataboo is no longer there. They lost a lot, Bobby. That is why Arizona State’s no longer the favorite, but they’re still up there in the rings. I think they’re second. Uh I personally believe got that quarterback in there. Yeah. I personally believe Kansas State is going to be really good this year, too. I agree. Um but that’s that’s just my personal opinion. All right. Uh now that Sean’s here, we’re going to double back around now and talk about Dave Portoi. So we’re going to circle back to where we were at the beginning of this show and get Shawn’s opinion of Dave Portoi on Big Noon Kickoff. Go Sean. That’s a disgrace. He’s a loudmouth douche. And I can’t wait to watch Urban Meyer put him in his place. And Porto was on Twitter X running in his mouth. All the Ohio State people are crying. And everybody’s like, “Oh, we can’t wait to see Dave Porto go after Urban Meyer. He’s not on the same intelligence level as Urban Meyer. Come on, guys. I mean, give me a break. It’s like a getting in a battle wits with someone who’s unarmed or mentally challenged. It’s not even close. Yeah, Sean, 100% I agree with you. I mean, I literally know the fifth graders that I work with have more college football knowledge than this [ __ ] And you notice I said [ __ ] kind of funny. It’s because I’m trying to keep it PG for you here. Thank you. Uh th this guy doesn’t know a dagon thing about football. He knows how to run his mouth. He knows how to act obnoxious. His whole, like I said, his whole stick is simply he’s an obnoxious frat boy. And that that’s his entire gimmick. He doesn’t know anything about football. He knows Twitter and trust funds. That’s it. That’s what this guy knows. He’s He goes for like the Howard Stern. He follows the Howard Stern motto, man. and he tries to shock people, just tries to be obnoxious. Like you said, that’s a stick. And he’s going to come on there and he’s going to run his mouth and Urban Meyer’s going to make him look like a [ __ ] I mean, it’s it’s going to be fun to watch. Urban’s going to put him in his place. Yeah. I I I I definitely think that I definitely think that they’re Fox is running the risk of of Well, I already know for a fact that Fox is is kind of being made fun of for this because Fox was known as the serious show. When you look at at the at the um pregame, college pregame shows, they were the serious one. They were the ones who were breaking down film. They were the ones they and they were making strides in really cutting into College Game Day’s numbers and and and College Game Day, they went with the whole stick thing. Um, but they still had the analysis and seriousness uh with Kirk Herbstreet um and some of the other guys who do the specials on there and things, but Fox was really making headway with college football people right outside of the SEC. College football minds, college football people were enjoying Fox. I think they are running the risk of alienating those fans. I think their numbers might suffer. Yeah. And uh just to throw this out, like I said earlier when I was going on my little rant, the difference is ESPN, even though they had that personality of Pat McAfee, McAfee still played the game and knew the game. Yes. Porti has zero knowledge in the game. Nothing. I mean Pack of Pack um Pat Pat McAfee Pat McAfee he like like you said Chris he has credibility he played at the highest level he he played for he played in the pros he played in the NFL I mean what is Dave Portain done I mean it’s like you said earlier Eric screams of desperation and it’s a joke I mean it makes Fox look like a joke right now that they would bring that guy on the on their show I mean give me break. You could have got David Pollock. There’s so many other great Oh, yeah. guys that they could have brought in to help boost that show and they went, you know, totally off the rails and off the reservations and bring in the biggest douche canoe we could find, I tell you. Now, do you think though, and this may be part of it, the fact that he brings a fairly large yet ignorant built-in audience is part of the attraction? Sure, if they put him on a big nude instead of us all the time. I mean, let’s face it. Michigan’s team’s not going to get him any ratings. So, he’s No, they’re gonna need him to do it for him because I mean, that team’s not gonna I mean, come on now. I mean, they do have an easy schedule. I’ll give them that. But they’re not g I mean, what tough games do they have besides Ohio State this year? And I still think they lose four four, you know, this year. Speaking of how many you think everybody’s losing, Ryan Day’s championship win beard, when are you guys doing your win loss videos for the teams in the Big 10? Well, if you watch every Big 10 preview, Chris and I do uh at the end we do our overunder um a prediction for every Big 10 team. But right before the season, Chris, do you think we should put one together for everybody? And then that’s all that video is. Yeah, we can do that. Absolutely. Okay. Um, so there you go, RDCB. Uh, we’ll we’ll put one together before the season starts, but if you go back and you watch every single Big 10 preview video that we’ve done, at the end of the video after we do the interview portion with another podcaster who covers that team from the College Huddle, we uh we go over the uh schedule Chris and I do. We give you our prediction on what we think they’re they’re going to do. So, um you can get those currently, but we’ll go we’ll go over um the rest of the Big 10 in just one video and that’s all we do. And maybe we’ll do over some of the other big schools too outside the Big 10. Chris, that sounds fun. Sure. Absolutely. Hey guys, I got an idea. Why don’t we do uh me, you all of us, and TG, we do a we uh pick who’s going to win the Big 10 and every other team’s record in the Big 10 and post it up and see who gets the most right. Chris and I already have. We’ll throw you guys a bone, have you guys fill it out, and you can join us in that. Sure. Uh, and we’ll see. We’ll see who uh who’s right at the end of the year. Uh, yeah, I’ll send I’ll send you guys an email with that, and you guys can do the same thing as what Chris and I did. That’d be awesome. Um, so yeah, let’s run a quick commercial break. When we come back, we’re gonna we’re gonna open this thing up to all of you all. Um, and uh hopefully we’ll be able to raise a little bit more money. We’ll talk about that and uh we’ll just see what you guys want to talk about this evening. Hang tight everybody. The OIO podcast is brought to you by Mastermind. Um thank want to thank Ryan for being a part of the uh show tonight early on. and unfortunately we had some uh he had some cell phone problems and so he had to bail tonight and he will join us again hopefully here uh either before or right when the season gets started he’ll jump on with us guys so far tonight we’ve raised $115 towards second and seven and the little free libraries we’re trying to raise which brings our total to uh $615 which means we need uh $385 more dollars guys and we will be able to put that second library in Marian County. There we got one in Delaware. We want to put a second one in Marian County. Just 385 more dollars raised. Uh you’ll see at the bottom of the screen, if you don’t want to super chat it, you can Vinmo me directly. Uh super super chatting. If you super chat it, YouTube takes 30% off the top. If you Vinmo me 100% will go directly towards Second and Seven and building that library. So, uh, if you would like to donate tonight, we would truly appreciate that. One person has given us a $100 donation already. Um, so we’re appreciative of that. And again, that brings our total to $615 towards building that library. Uh, we want to thank Coconut, Ryan Day’s Championship Beard, and Bobby Mack for their super chats tonight, which has gone to that. Uh, and, uh, good to see all of you with us tonight. Thank you to Sean for jumping in since Ryan was having trouble. Sean was hanging out in the in the chat and sent him a text. He said, “I’m in. Let’s do this.” And so, uh, we’ve talked so far about Dave Portoi and and big noon kickoff and and and noon games versus night 8:00 kick games. We’ve talked a little bit about recruiting and what we’ve seen there going on in recruiting. I want to open up to the chat. We haven’t done this in a long time, Chris. Yeah, we got so much content. We don’t have a chance. I know this this off season has just been filled to where every now and then back we used to do this a lot when we first got started on on Sunday night show the last every Sunday night show the second part of the show we would open it up to the chat for questions and uh sometimes we would we would get questions from Facebook or things and we would we would answer those. So tonight um chat we want to hear from you. you have a question, you have a topic you would like for us to to discuss, um, put that in the chat tonight. Let’s let’s have a good uh open discussion with all of you tonight. And, uh, uh, let’s have a good time. So, Sean, uh, tell everybody for those who haven’t a little bit about, uh, the interview you guys just had. I think it was Wednesday you guys had that interview with Vaughn. Oh, what a great interview. I mean, the guy played on the early 80s. Um, started as a fullback as a freshman on the 80 team. Guy couldn’t have been any nicer. I mean, what a class act. Um, he reached out to one of his, uh, former teammates. Um, and the former teammate who is a massive legend said he would come on the Buckeye Lounge. He’s just out of town right now and he has agreed when he uh, gets back into town. We’ll work out the details, but if Von’s watching, I want to thank you, Von, for uh reaching out to our surprise guest coming up. Uh big this legend we talked about previously, Sean. Yes. Wow. Yeah, exactly. So, I told him a little bit about Vader and how much Vader does for our our channel for me and TG. And this is Vader’s favorite football player. And I told him about how, you know, what he does and how he’s put videos out and, you know, his situation. And I told him that this this guy was his hero. So he said he reached out to him and the guy’s more than happy to come on. So we are excited and it’s going to be an awesome show when the guy comes on. But we have some other stuff in the works, guys, and we are very excited about it. We got a a pre-record this week we’re going to do with uh the Michigan State um guy intrinsic who’s on X who’s kind of who’s good friends with Sparrow and breaks a lot of stuff. So, we’re going to do a pre-record with him. Then TG and I are going to do our regular show on Tuesday. And then after that, three weeks in a row, we got we got former Buckeyes coming on. So, WTP sports dudes. Thank you, Sean. No problem. Texas fan here. Do you have any position group concerns? Um, we’ll go around in a circle. I’ll start. Uh, thank you for the question. WTP? Um, I I do you guys I have to know, man. Is that Do you guys have a YouTube channel or uh podcast, man? That looks like a fun name. Um, defensive line for me is a concern. Uh, they’re inexperienced. They’re all new starters on the defensive line going into that first game. Uh, I think it’s going to be um possible possible that that defensive line obviously isn’t ready to to rock and roll. Um, the offensive line in the spring game dominated the defensive line. Uh, was the best the offensive line has looked in spring in a long time. And some of that could be because the offensive line is really good and that’s what we’re anticipating. Could also be a little bit that the defensive line is behind here a little bit as well. That is my position group concern. Sean, I agree with you, but more what I’m worried about is the depth. I don’t know if we have the depth like we had before. I think the defensive line what I think it’s going to be I’m not gonna say it’s not going to be as good, but it’s going to be different. It’s built different. We actually have edge rushers this year that were made to rush the passer. Um, Jack and JT were more of a I could, you know, contain the ED, set the edge, great against a run. They could they could rush the pass or some, but I mean, Jack did it well in the college football playoff. I mean, I mean, if you saw how he was turned loose, but I think our edge rushers are more lean than they have been and we’ll get it more like what we used to see from Larry back in the day. Larry Johnson’s ends in back in the day where they would rush a lot and get a lot of sacks. I’m just worried about if if our defensive tackles, Kaden McDonald, if he goes down or if uh who’s the other guy, Edric Houston, if he gets injured, are we going to have the guys the horses behind him to back him up? That’s if that were to happen, I would not be shocked that they don’t put uh Bo Atkinson, move him inside. He plays it on third down. He played it on third down. They moved him. They kicked him inside on third down last year at North Carolina. He’s he’s a he’s he’s got a bigger body. He could play it. If that were to happen, I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case. Chris, what’s your position group concern? I’m I’m going to go with you guys here. Um I got to go with the defensive uh specifically tackles as as Sean was talking. Um I think that the two starters are very good quality. Mhm. I’m a little concerned about can uh Kaden McDonald do it on every down? Uh that’s something that we we’ve not seen the greatest durability out of of McDonald. He’s impact whenever he’s in there. Reminds me a lot of of the way Mike Hall Jr. was. Um he’s impacted whenever he’s in the game, but sometimes there’s there’s obviously injury concerns. Um, and I know we’ve got some senior leadership and Taiwan Taiwan Malone Jr. Um, we’ve got Will Smith Jr. there as well. Jason Moore, Eric Mensah, uh, can play in there as well. Got a couple of freshman in there. But, you know, I’m looking at this as specifically Edric Houston and probably Kade McDonald. Um, man, I I hate to make the comparison, but they’re going to have to be out there very much the same way uh was it Ma Mason Graham and Grant were for for the team up north last season on almost every down. It’s going to help their stats out. That’s for sure. So, the depth, the depth is my biggest concern. But, you know, Will Smith Jr., man, he he’s got the lineage. If he can come in and in his second year and actually uh you know play half to the level that his father did, we’re going to be all right. Yeah. Oh yeah. No kidding. For real, man. Uh great question. Thank you, WTP. Welcome to the show, by the way. And uh uh I’ll check out your channel, man. Um let’s see here. Ryan Day’s Championship Beard, are you guys excited about Julian Sain as much as everyone was about CJ Strad? And do you think it will equate? Great question. I am I am as excited, maybe even a little bit more because I think I think Julian Seain comes in with a little bit more fanfare than what CJ Strad did. Um CJ Strad was a late bloomer. In other words, he was not high on the recruiting boards until going in between his junior and senior year if you recall. And then he shot up the boards after he had that, I guess, elite 11 camp, the Elite 11 camp, and he blew everybody away. And then it was like, “Oh, wow. Ryan Day does know what he’s talking about.” Uh, when it comes to quarterback recruiting, who thought? Uh, Julian Seain has been that guy for years. Um, they’re they’re both Southern California kids. Uh, Julian Sain has got that big arm. Um, so yeah, I I think it I think it will equate and I am as excited maybe even a little bit more. Uh, Sean, are you as excited for Julian Sain as you was CJ Strad back in gosh, what was that 20 21? Well, if you guys remember the difference is though back then, uh, we also had Jack Miller who was the the guy that everybody liked coming into that class over CJ. And CJ was, you know, like you said, a late bloomer. They kind of took him late. I am very excited about Julian. I mean, the guy can play. He won the Elite 11. I mean, Nick Sabin wanted him. That should tell us something. Then Ryan Then, you know, Ryan Day wanted him. So Ryan Day knows a thing or two about quarterbacks. So I trust what Ryan Day, you know, has to say. So I’m really excited. I think I think uh he will he will be better than CJ’s in his first year. I’m going on a lemon saying that. Yeah, I I got to agree with you, Sean. I think that uh the kid has all the tools in the world. He’s got the best mentor in the world and Ryan Day when it you know when you’re a quarterback. And the other thing is I find it hard to believe that a kid with that kind of talent is not going to put up huge numbers and be successful given the talent he is surrounded with. You have got the best player in all of college football just waiting for you to throw him the ball. You’ve got a burner and Tate who can take the top off a defense. You have Brandon Enis who’s going to probably be playing the slot who can get out there. you’ve got, you know, all these guys and and I haven’t even gone into the too deep when you’re talking about guys like uh Milin Graham, when you when you talk about uh Quincy Porter, uh Bryson Rogers, I mean, we are stacked at receiver. You got the best passcatching tight end in all of college football in my my opinion in um Max Claire who is going to be a big safety valve for him especially uh when he first starts out you know the season to me I think that Julian saying I think he’s right now what sixth in the sixth or seventh in the Heisman odds guys I’m telling you right now that’s too That is too low. And it’s not just because of his tremendous talent or what he did at Elite 11. It’s because of that plus everything he has around him. He is set up to succeed. Hey guys, and let’s not forget that offensive line is going to be one of the best in the nation. For the first time in a long time, we have depth at that offensive line. There’s legit seven or eight guys that could start. So, I’m that’s the happiest I felt with an offensive line coming into a season in a very long time. Chris and I concur with that. We’ve we’ve been pounding that pull pit about the offensive line for a long time, haven’t we, Chris? And Oh, yeah. And this we were like we were like two ticks that just got done uh uh filling our bell feasting after the spring game uh coming out of the shoe when we watched how the offensive line performed and that that was that was awesome. Um, would you either one of you like to take a stab? I saw this the other day on the odds, the top odds to who would be the first touchdown catch that Julian Sain throws the football to. Not named Jeremiah Smith. Jeremiah Smith was obviously number I’m gonna go with Max Claire. Sean, I’m going to say Carell Tate. It was actually Max Claire and and I think you hit the nail on the head with that Chris. He is a he’s considered a safety valve. Plus, he had that great catch in the spring game over the middle for a touchdown. I think that kind of got some people excited. So, uh interesting little uh nugget there. All right. Uh let’s go to this next question I have start here from Buckeye Pay. Good to see you, my friend. What do you think our ceiling and floor will be this season? I think the uh floor is 8 and4. That’s the floor. Um I think you could lose games if it if if th if this happens, it’s it’s a disaster of a season. You lose to Texas, um Washington or Illinois, one of those two. You lose to Penn State at home. And you lose in Ann Arbor. So, I guess technically I could even say seven and five might be the floor in all honesty. If if if all five of those things happen, you lose Texas the the opener, you lose on the road at at Washington. By the way, Washington’s got a 20game home game winning streak going, guys. That’s a tough place to play. Uh uh Chris and I have already called it. Champagne, Illinois is the toughest road trip of the season. I agree. I agree. And you got Penn State, who’s a lot of people thinking is the might be the number one ranked team in this country to start the year. And of course, we’re 0 for our last four against the team up north. Uh now, that could be argued uh that some of those might be uh vacated, but at least two of them might be vacated, but that’s probably the floor. Seven and five. Chris, you say no. No, no. I think I think nine and three is the is the floor. Nine and three is the floor with 12 and0 is the is the a floor. You gota floor is worst case scenario. It’s not what I think could happen. To me, that’s that’s where I’m at. You don’t think that they could lose more than three? I don’t think James Franklin can get out of his own way. Well, I I agree, but let’s be hon We’re not talking about about We’re not talking We’re talking worst case scenario. Yeah. James Franklin beat Urban Meyer one time. Now, it was fluky, but he did. Yeah. And what’s he done since? Uh, hung a bunch of L’s on. Yeah. I I have I have He has not shown me anything that would make me believe that he could win this game. Um, the other one is, uh, I I am not sold on Washington like everybody else is. I do not believe in Washington. Yes, 20ame home winning streak is impressive, but outside of the occasional game against Oregon, who have they actually had come in there to beat? So to to me, I I feel like Washington to me is is not a team that’s even close to Ohio State’s level. Uh, I think those two are the ones that I can’t wrap my hand or head around. Um, I’m with you. Uh, as far as the potential for Illinois, uh, the potential for Texas, but you know what, Eric, Texas lost more production than we did last year. They are returning less production than we are, both offensively and well, not defensively. Offensively, they’re returning less production than we are. Defensively they are slightly higher. Did Didn’t they hit the portal a little bit better than we did though? Did they though? I I don’t If if uh if WTP sports dudes Yeah. If WT Sports Dudes are still watching, uh let us know about your uh what you think about Texas’s portal uh offseason. Uh would like to know um that. Uh and by the way, yeah, thank thanks for hopping in, dude. I appreciate that. um uh if he already headed out, but uh we got a couple super chats to get to real fast. Coconut with another $10. Thank you, my man. Uh Coconut uh with 15 total tonight, as Keith Jackson might call it. There’s going to be a showdown in the old town of Columbus, Ohio tonight as the Texas Longhorns ride into the shoe to take on the home team, Ohio State Buckeyes. Oh, Nelly. That was that was a terrible Keith Jackson, but that was my That’s not good. On the banks of the all in Teni. Oh, Nelly. Keith Jackson was He was the voice. He was the voice of college football, man. Um I haven’t When we go When we go, not if when we go to California, boys and we get to go see the Rose Bowl someday. There’s a Keith Jackson statue outside the Rose Bowl. There should be, you know, honestly should be. Yeah. Uh $20 super chat from Robert. Thank you, Robert, so much tonight for the $20, man. I appreciate that. Uh Oline Dline development, former Buckeye, future O line Dline coach. I’m not following. Do you guys know what that means? That’s a lot to take in there. Um, is he talking about where the development is at? Oh, question. These are questions he wants answered. Yeah. He wants to know about our offensive defensive line development. Okay. Former Buckeye who might be a future uh and is there a former Buckeye who might be a future offensive line defensive line coach? Well, offensive line, if you’re going to talk about a f former Buckeye, you got to talk about with Charles Bman. Yeah. 100 100%. Yeah. I mean, I think that’s a guy if you’re going to have somebody come in and be an offensive line coach, that is your guy right now. I mean, he’s already working with kids. So, he knows how to how to do it. Um, and then defensive line, uh, I got a name for you. Luke Fickle. Yeah, he might come available, boys. I tell you what, Eric, that’s another that’s another tough place to play, too. We got to go there. We got to go to Madison. You’re right. All of a sudden, Eric’s seven and five. I’m telling you guys, like now, let me let me let me push back again. I know I’m going to blow Chris’s gasket tonight. Last year’s team went 10 and four with that roster. Or sorry, went 10 and two with that roster. 10 and two. You mean to tell me you think this year’s team is only one loss worse? Yes. Than that. I’ll tell you why. I’ll tell you why. Because we’re not playing teams like we’re not playing or Well, I mean Texas. I mean, granted, we got Texas, but other than And Penn State, you’re right. So, I could see I still think we win 10 ball games. I mean, until we don’t, I’m going to go with 10 each year. Okay. WTP. They did okay in the portal. A bunch of Dlinemen. That’s right. I remember that. Well, they got one of ours, right? Hero canoe. Hero canoe went there. Yeah, that was their need. Offense got a tight end and wide receiver that was needed badly. Okay. I guess you’re right, Chris. Yep. I guess you’re right. Thank you for that. Um, anybody else on that? U former Buckeye future offensive Dline coach. Can you think of another former Buckeye who might be a Dline coach? Let me I have a list of former Buckeyes who are currently coaching. Let me pull that up real fast. Now, now are we going to reach down to the high school levels for a defensive line coach? Has Garrett’s coaching back at Bishop Gorman? Is Haskell Rascal coaching? That’s what I’d heard. Robert Landers does training with kids. Yeah. Uh here we go. Here’s my list of people here. Antonio Holmes is coaching at Wilburforce. Corey Brown is coaching at Akran. Devin Jordan is coaching at Ohio State. Chase Ferris is coaching at Yria Catholic High School. Yeah. Stanley Jackson is the head coach at Westerville North. Keep him there. Greg Fry is the offensive coordinator at Beexley High School. Keep him there. Rob Harley is uh that’s the grandson of Chickley, I believe. Yeah. He is the uh defensive coordinator and assistant coach at Arkansas State or he was. Um Joe Germaine’s coaching in high school in Arizona. Arizona. Yeah. Mhm. Uh Pepper Johnson. Is he still coaching? He was coaching the Patriots linebackers for a while, but I don’t know if he And then Wendy in Florida coaching high school ball for a while, too. I would love for Puffer to come back. Is he the one that got the MG IMG Academy? IMG Academy job. Or he was, wasn’t he? Yeah. Wasn’t he there for a year? Yeah. I don’t know if he was or not. Um, I have Winfield Garnett written down for some reason as a former player who’s coaching. Um, Tough Borland is the linebacker assistant at Wisconsin. Pepe Pearson is coaching at Tarh Tarlington State. Kenny Gayton is the uh is it the quarterback coach or wide receiver coach at Wisconsin? He was a co uh he was a receiver coach. He might be coordinator now. That’s JT JT Barrett is the quarterback coach for the Chicago Bears this year. Uh of course James Lordis is at Ohio State. Tim Walton is at Ohio State. Luke Fickle at Wisconsin. Brian Hartine’s at Ohio State. Eddie George is the head coach at Tennessee. Or sorry, no he’s not. He’s head coach at Bowling Green. Bowling Green. Need to update that. Mike Vrabel’s the head coach at New England. And Marcus Freeman is the head coach at Notre Dame. That’s my list of former Buckeyes. Doran Grant coaches at Vincent St. Mary’s. Oh, does he? Yep. You add that one to the list here. He’s the head coach. That’s his alma mater. St. Vincent St. Mary. Yeah. where LeBron went to school. Yeah. Then uh now like did like Richard McNutton, those guys go with Eddie to Bowling Green? I wonder I don’t know because I know a bunch of them were coaching for him down in uh Tennessee State. There were a few I I didn’t hear a name in there though that just struck me as an offensive line or defensive line coach. Either one. Either one. Um Tim Anderson could teach him how to wrestle. Yeah, Tim could come back and coach. He might be the best option at defensive defensive line next. Yeah, big daddy’s doing I don’t know. I don’t know what big daddy’s doing, you know. Um uh Orlando Pace was asked if he would ever coach and he basically said no because of the hours. Well, I just don’t think someone like like I mean he’s such a legend. Like it’s not going to Well, anyways, let’s move on. Let’s We got We got a couple more and then I I have a hard out at 9:25, guys. I have another interview I have to do. So, let me let me uh go up here and get the other ones that were starred real and see if we can do some rapid ones here real fast. Oh, by the way, I have the ceiling at at 12-0. I mean, Ohio State, the ceiling’s always gonna be 12-0, right? Yep. Yeah. Chris looks irritated. Did I irritate you tonight? Yeah. No, I’ve I’ve actually got I’ve got all kinds of things going. I got news popping up on this screen. I got X going over on this. For those of you who don’t know, my studio has a four screen studio right now. Nice. I’m sitting here with a But no, there was some idiot on uh the X. Oh jeez. No, I’m just sitting here thinking to myself, “Yeah, we’re going to address that tomorrow night.” Buck Vader, who do you guys think will make an early impact in this year’s class? I think he assumes the 2026 class based off the names he put here. Chris Henry, Wilder, Greer, and Bradford. uh so far his let me Chris let me pull open our handy dandy list that we have that we’ve been working on right well it’s not going to be an offensive line because that usually takes a couple years right so it’s not going to be immediate impact on the offensive line um let me let me see here I would say Chris Henry I mean I think oh sincere Johnson if he can see the field uh he I think he makes an immediate impact in special teams right away. Well, that’s true. Like right like right now he’s on special teams. He probably starts right now on special teams. A senior in high school. I think Sincere Johnson is um he’s going to be really good. We got a lot of good young linebackers in front of them too though with Petta John Alfred. I mean that Boronitis has done a great job the last two years of recruiting linebackers and sincere Johnson’s is another one to add to the list. Yeah, Carrie Wilder’s another another one. This is my choice because if you look, you know, if Kenyan Jackson has a good year, he’s probably out. Uh Bo Atinson, the same thing may be said there, but those are guys are both, you know, both red shirt juniors, so they could have another year of eligibility. you know, Kaden’s out. He’s a senior. Um, so I mean, there’s going to be room on the defensive end if somebody is really playing a good ball, uh, even a freshman to get in there. So, I I think that would be my pick. I think Chris Henry, I know it’s obvious, but I think he’s gonna be the one I think he’s really gonna make a a big splash. Eric, I got a question. What’s the next Michigan person all these sports shows are going to hire? Blue Wolverine. Oh jeez. Conor Stallions. Conor Connor Stallions. There’s nobody who’s more of a Michigan man than Connor Stallions. Don’t be surprised. Somebody will probably hire him because he’s not gonna be allowed in college football. So Rich Eisen will hire him. Oh yeah, boy. He turn He pulled a 180 on that, didn’t he? He pulled a 180 on that one. That was funny. One more question here. Uh, I’ll go another direction. RDCB, you get the last question tonight. Speaking of another QB, how do you think Underwood will do? Is he going to be everything uh the blue thinks he is, or is he getting thrown into the fire too early? The question, the obvious answer to that question is yes. He’s good. He’s a true freshman and he just although they’re a talented team, they’re not nearly as talented as they have been the past couple of years. They’re not nearly as talented as they think they are either. Let me tell you, you’re putting a true freshman in there at quarterback. The kid’s going to get annihilated his first year. This is not a kid who’s coming out of a high-profile uh football program in high school. Even Michigan football is not at the high school level is not anywhere near the top of the football chain. He’s going to have such a hard time, I think, adjusting to the speed of the game at the collegiate level. He’s going to have growing pains. Will he eventually be good? Maybe. Is he ever going to be as great as everybody thinks so? He’s going to be no. I’m not sure what this guy is in the next Alex Orgy. Uh, you know, I mean, let let’s face it, the guy played crap competition in high school, didn’t compete at the Elite 11 cuz he knew he was going to get his ass handed to him. Give me a break, you Michigan morons. Come on, Christian. Give the kid at least a year or two before you try to anoint him as the next big thing. see if he’s going to be able to pass the ball 15 yards downfield when he’s under pressure. You have right you have these morons saying he he’s going to win the Heisman next year. I mean, give me a break. Do we all remember what happened? He’ll be lucky if he finishes the season in one piece. Do we remember what happened to Braxton Miller when he was a freshman? What he looked like back there? He like I tried telling those guys, there’s going to be times that he he throws an awesome pass and you see the flashes of his of his ability and you’re going to be in awe. Then there’s going to be times when he throws in the double coverage and you’re going to be pulling your hair out saying, “Why the heck did you do that?” Because this kid’s going to face competition that he’s never faced before. He’s going to see things he’s never saw before. Defensive coordinators are going to confuse the heck out of the kid. Plus, he doesn’t have the elite the elite receivers to throw to. Who’s he going to throw to? Samir’s Morgan or Samage Morgan? Give me a break. I mean, ignore whatever his name is. He’s got a couple decent running backs behind him, but other than that, who’s he going to throw the ball to? I mean, and honestly, if this hammer comes down, he might not even be there to play. He might transfer out if they get a long enough bull band. So, who knows if he even sticks around there. Freshman growing pains are called freshman growing pains for a reason. Exactly. It’s a real thing. Um, right. He’s going to be running like JT Barrett a lot. Um, Bobby Mack’s calling now. He’s going to transfer out. That’s his prediction. Um, this was a lot of fun, guys. Thank you so much. Uh, we’ll get Ryan rescheduled down down the road here. We want to thank everybody again tonight uh for let’s see uh 3545 so 145 tonight Chris. So $145 in donations tonight. That brings our total to 645. We’ll round I I’ll I’ll throw in five tonight. We’ll just call it 650. We need 350 more. So, we need 350 more to uh and then we’ll be able to head over to second and seven and uh uh give them a nice thousand check and uh get our second library built. This one in uh Chris’s neck of the woods, everybody. So, uh thank you everybody for a great show. Um we we had to make do with what happened tonight. Ry Ryan was on vacation, but he called in anyways. He tried to make it work. It worked for one good segment and then it uh the the cell phone service dropped. And thanks to Sean for coming in, Chris, a call-in show tomorrow night, 8 o’clock. Absolutely. I’m uh I’m pumped. Who knows what’s going to happen. Maybe we’re going to talk about Port Noi. Maybe we’ll talk about this idiot over here on X right now. I don’t know. We’re gonna have a lot of fun with whatever we do. Tuesday night, the Buckeye Lounge, 8 o’clock Eastern. Sean, correct? Correct. TG and I are gonna do a a show and hit on a few different topics and just have fun. And if you guys got any questions, fire them away and we’ll try to answer them for you. Beautiful. Don’t forget uh Wednesday night will be our Washington preview. That’ll be coming out on Wednesday night. And uh I think Iowa is going to be on Friday. Chris, I think I I just got a confirmation from them. Chris and I will be putting together the Washington and Iowa previews for you all this week. Uh that’ll bring us up to 14. No. Is it 14? 12 or 14. Yeah, I think 12. I think we had eight left. Let’s think. We’ve got uh what? Six more weeks till the start of the season. We started We started I think a week earlier this year. Yeah. So, we have Northwestern, we have Oregon, Purdue, Ohio State, team up north, and I’m missing one. So, five, six, and then Iowa. Yeah. So, that would give us six left. So, thank you, Bobby Mack. Thank you so much. What? Washington. Washington. No, they don’t like it. They don’t like it when I say it. That’s why I say it. I don’t like it either. You probably throw your clothes in the washer, too, don’t you? Yeah, I do. This is what my grandma She washed my She washed the clothes. What’s wrong with that? Thank you so much, everybody. We got a great week planned out for you right here on the OIO podcast. Happy birthday, Lisa. Happy birthday, Lisa. Happy birthday to you, Lisa.
