This is game number 25 on the tea. The Rolex Series winner at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. He’s the leader in the race to Dubai from Northern Ireland. Rory Mroy [Applause] Sey’s record of six race to Dubai. And that I think can we say that’s smoked? Smoked just avoids the bunker. Stood a long way open as if he was trying to really chop one into the flag but just came out of it a fraction. It’s a crafty little shot just coming off the right hand bank. This will release once it hits the green. Took an almighty launch forward, didn’t it? But it was all factored in. However, McCroy for par. Yep. Five big drives, five perfect T-shots, and five pars. Oh, miss it. Miss it. Easy. I was thinking between a six and a five, but Very well played. Steep up slope there playing off. So I think this is quite a big putt for just a little bit of confidence. It’s hard to say with Maro there. That’s that’s how I feel about it. Struck it perfectly on the line he was aiming at right into the heart of the cup. Definitely needed here on the breeze up the hill a fraction. [Applause] Told me he flies at 320. So he was just trying to take it right over the top. Perfect. An opportunity coming for Maroy. Paul Wearing’s already had a couple today as well as last week. Let’s hear from him with Tim. We’re still smiling interacting with the camera as well. There’s the tapping birdie for macar. I like that. All the margaritas. Go. That’s a good shot. That’s 250 yards. Right in the middle of the green. Left to right predominantly. You can only judge it from about now. [Applause] left half of the hole or something. Good start for Maroy. Hard to tell these days. [Music] That was his soft swing. Don’t turn through as hard as you can. Sometimes the club face closes. Sit. Oh, he knew it. Instant flyer. This is tough. Nothing to work with here for Rory. Yeah, just this firm underneath in this sand. You try and go for that spinny soft one and it just bounces. And that’s what it did there. Just slightly baffled by the second. and he’s just hit something under the hole. And take your medicine putting pressure on someone who’s just playing so nicely at this point. Dramafree in the end. He’s a brilliant putter. I think ah trying to bit of a cut and he’s pulled it well. Could have been worse. left to right overall from about now. He took a long time over that T-shot. Boring. That’s down the left. And well, he needs a lot of luck and I don’t think he’s going to get it there. Favoring the right if anything. Oh my. Oh my. That says it all. Good job. He went to the gym this morning. He might not have reached the fairway otherwise. Not hitting that old water crest bed, wasn’t it? I mean, he’s got all the power in the world. This ball will feed back to the pin from behind it if he can get it there. Five or six yards of space. Short is the mistake from here. Dead eyee dick took his time. A handy birdie after a t-shirt that found the real devilish deep rough. Pins are tough on I will say that he normally goes left here Rory and just takes on the corner. really narrows up his distances, but that’s popped out of the heavy stuff. Still in good shape. Mroy from the rough at eight. Slightly better line. A little unlucky. to get to the cup there. Turning as so often happens. Pause it right in the middle. Driver Rory hit wedge in here last year. there. Hard to believe [Applause] at the back of the green. It won’t be it won’t be much more than a short iron from there. That’s a cracker jack with a fraction of help. Back flag. He can go at this. Well, it’s a poor one with a wedge, but it’s better than most. Has he hit it? Not even close on that occasion. After all that off the tea, 360 yards, it took three more shots to reach the hole. [Music] Man, that was 90 to 95%. Eight behind it. So, it can be aggressive on this flag. [Applause] Straight in the middle for Maroy. Oh my god. Big fairway to hit with an iron. However, well, what happened there? It looks so different to the number, but it will release. Oh, that that just disappeared this rough this week. Got to be on the short stuff. Hit iron off the tea and you missed the fairway. Can’t blame anything else cuz that that looks a good line. Got the strike, but it’s just this Bermuda just jumps on you. Well, from that lie. That was that was excellent from Mroy. Just don’t know how it’s going to come out. He played for the duff almost. Well read. I thought that would have a little bit of right to left movement, but virtually dead straight. Maybe even come a little bit from the other side. Well, that’s where he’s hit it. Further up that that rough stick over there. Play to your strength. [Music] [Music] Well, I I’m not sure he could have done any better than that to be honest with you. No, that’s a good shot. He couldn’t He couldn’t stop it. No, agreed. Bang on, Jamie. You just got to hang around for a couple of days long. He needs one really good round and you never know. However, this man this man’s got to be there, hasn’t he? At the end of the week, he just has to be leaning right a little bit. That’s where it went. [Applause] soft. Oh, yes. By the skin of his teeth, I think it should be okay. It’s going to be just fine. Still a long way to go. 250 yards or so to the Oh. Oh, so close. Three yards from perfection. It’s a wonderful golf shot. If it hits the green, it should only give it time. Give it time. It does, but it did get better. That is disappointing. It’s the hence I stayed out. I think it’s just inside right myself. I wasn’t sure. Jamie, this is how hard it is. Straight straight path. No break on that. There’s his fans. He’s missed his right a couple of times in the past. He’s not a fan of his T-shot. Bunkers everywhere as he rips it up the middle. Yeah, he’s just sort of aiming for greens on the short par fours nowadays. Green high and just chipping down the length of a lot of green changes. King the odd bad bounce. Just getting the strike out of the rough. I think the first thing not bad. Not easy that to visualize up. He doesn’t know that. Certainly going by Tristan’s pace. There is a lot in this. [Music] Yeah, it was an awkward patch of green to put through two different grains from only 10 ft throughwood, which is remarkable. I thought he could take those bunkers out of play with the big stick, but he just chose to trust himself. Popped the threewood down there. 300 and something yards. Jamie’s just flicking a wedge. Go on, get in there tight. Not quite tight, but has a look is on the right section. I don’t see an awful lot in this overall. I think it almost might track back the other way at the end, you know. Stayed there. Yeah, good call. Oh, that’s a big hit. It’s a clever shot. It was never enough to get to the flag. Seven iron. We’ve seen five irons from Hatton, but it was enough to get into the right portion of the green. Little bit of movement, but not much. Actually, a good chance. He must have had this dozens of times over the years. Oh, it did go. It went right into the hole. Plenty of people there cheering him on. What a great putt from Mroy. He joins Hatton at the top. Hard fair way to pick the pick the point to aim at here. Alli, [Applause] how about there, Ken? That’s excellent because he’s heading to the slightly narrower portion of this 18th fairway. The further you go up, the more the water on the right sneaks in. But that’ll test him out that one. My goodness. Keep Zo in check. [Music] Now, will it hold it line? It tried its very best. Instead, he’ll go into tomorrow with company at the top of the leaderboard. That of Tier Hatton. Finished about half an hour ago. This is game number 25. On the tea, the Rolex Series winner at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. He’s the leader in the race to Dubai from Northern Ireland, Rory Maroy. [Applause] [Applause] Delicious. Maybe just looking a yard or two left of it. Well, well, well. Didn’t birdie this last year. Didn’t birdie yesterday. I have a funny bird today. It is the perfect start for Rory Mroy. A birdie at the first. So he edges ahead of Raasmas Hoyer and Tier Hatton. [Applause] Well, what can you say? What is it? It’s ridiculous. That’s a seven iron. Yeah, that was a full hit, wasn’t it, for Maroy? Dangerous pin at the back there. Mr. Hera left a right overall at the end which will keep his interest. Grab a chair. Dark as we look at it, but from his angle it’s straight down grain. Misread of grain there for Rory. 358 yards off the two. Walk off with five. Plenty of looks bit left. Is it up? Try to get out. Nearly Just about what Anthony Wall suggested was doable up that right side. Looked good all the way, didn’t it? Two birdies in the first three holes for Rory Mroy and he opens up a twoshot lead. Mroy at four. Brilliant. Amazing T-shot, but it’s just in between the grain again. Hair down the hill. It’s all pace once more. I think it will move left. Making three birdies in the first four holes for Rory Mackoy, who at the moment is taking command of the tournament and of the race to Dubai. missed the fairway left yesterday and that caused uh his bogey here. It’s an ugly bogey as well. No problem there though. Like that. Yep. Yeah. Luckily, it was just long enough to stay on that top shelf above the hole. Got to be left to right. quite a bit from here. Got to hustle. Okay. Well, he’s drawing it into it. [Music] Very nice. Very nice. Just didn’t need a lot more just to feed round, actually. A sensible puck from Rory. Great pace to that one. That’s what he’d been thinking. Just dribble it down there. A no stress par. And a par five next up for Mroy and Tier Hatton. Well, there you see it. Look at 15 yards past Hatton. Just mini advantages time after time. All right. [Applause] got a nice pitch on the little ups slope. Killed it right in the center of the green. Not what he wanted, but on the dance floor. Reasonably quick as well, but it’s an easy one to read. Two putts we need. Two putts we need. Pretty well judged. Three part of the second from this sort of range just to make a par. There’s Paul wearing this man will take some beating. Mroy, he likes it here and he has the advantage, but you get the feeling. Oh, this is a jumper. It’s a down ball. Nice soft bounce, Anthony on the up slope. Oh, what a lovely bounce. Come on. Come on. Oh, it tiptoed over the hill. It would have gathered up like that. Well trained dog. A high tariff read this one. Gave it a good firm smack. Gave the hole away. set up for a fade and is a draw. Ends up often double crossing and finding of the rough and gets sucked in. It’s like finishing in a pitcher’s glove. Well, it was a big old gouge, wasn’t it? It came out right on him. [Applause] Brilliantly read, sweetly struck. Was on the back foot a little Rory Mroy, but finds his balance there. [Music] just misses everyone down there. But the line is not look friendly. Yeah, we just got the feeling that that was that did well to get out of there. And he can see Yeah. Yeah. He’s not going to enjoy that. Nothing fancy, Rory. That’s fine. Really is. Cuz as you say, he could have easy duffed that into that bunker easily. Not to be. Not to be. T-shot really is to blame. So wearing bogeies tent, Mroy will as well. In few moments time, Rosna might have the lead by two. It just feels like Rory’s played much better golf than Hatton today, but they’re on the same score. You feel that momentum has the impetus has changed slightly towards her. Should pull up pretty quick even though it’s down breeze. Can’t believe it. I thought Rory was going to scoot away from the field today. The way he started, I must say, it’s like a scene out of a Hitchcock movie down there in 12, isn’t it? The birds. What a T-shot of Maroy striped up the middle. That was up there with him. Don’t worry, that’s gone. Lovely shot. H. It’s an ideal pin. It’s one club shy. Actually, more on this than it looks. It’s quite quick the last third. This is not easy to get dead for Rory. Maroy for par. Very good. It’s got another draw on it. Well, it’s around the bunker, but looks like it’s in the long stuff. And hopefully hit a good third. Yeah, good decision. Yeah, sometimes you just have to take your medicine. Angle down into that little gully where the flag is. Little bit of help off the right as well, which is not going to help him with the water on the right. [Applause] Well, pin high. I thought he well he thought the ball was going to spin a little bit to his right to further away than he would have liked, but a different mindset to his playing partner. He’s very secure on those nowadays. You do sense a little frustration from Mroy though, don’t you? for left. Yeah, brilliant shot from Maroy. managed to get a firm contact. Get some spin as well. Can he read this part? No, he’s gone the other way by the look of it for Rory. It’s just tremendous hitting. Looks like a good firm wedge to me. It’s hard to I think you’re right. Probably needed nine. No is the answer. Grass grows quite a lot in the the day goes on as well. They’re not quite as smooth. And the final groups as they are first thing in the morning and they’re absolutely perfect. [Applause] [Applause] He’s a very strong young man, isn’t he? He’s got the sort of Rory Mroy physique. There is Rory. He tidies up, makes his par there at 17. So, just the closing par five to come. He’s one behind his playing partner, Tier Hatton. two off the lead. And Antoine Rosna needs a bit of luck here. And he’s got some I think he thought that was wet. It’s absolutely perfect now. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Never left the flag nearly. So that’s going to be a closing birdie. That’s a second round 69. So he moves alongside Terrell Hatton at 8 under par. Hatton with a chance to make birdie and push back in front and grab a share of the lead with Antoan Rosna. This is the final game in the third round of the DP World Tour Championship. Game number 23. On the tea, the Rolex Series winner at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. He’s the leader in the race to Dubai. From Northern Ireland, Rory Maroy. Take that. Birded it yesterday. Maroy. And he’s in fine spot there as well. Can he judge the breeze here, Rory? Yeah, it’s a sleeper. Fourth hardest hole in the courses. Just about the best we’ve seen. The best I’ve seen anyway. Gets it pin high. That’s not an easy feat for Maroy. No, that was always low. Well, we knew it because we’ve seen it. But it seems that no one is immune. They didn’t get their second summer aeration because they had to put some salt water over the course during the very hot summers here. Looking anxiously. He hit it 358 down here yesterday. Can he resist the flag? Go. Doesn’t look like it. Go. Well, it was good enough. That’s a fine shot for Maroy, but by he was trying to hit that up into the stratosphere to get to 10 on par. Should it drop a pretty well judged? Come on, Rory. For our Golf Worldwide, Mroy, as well as Tommy Fleetwood, who earlier this year you announced as one of your global ambassadors. Must be very proud of uh how he represents the company. Absolutely. And and Tommy, as you know, is a local resident here and uh and has been a fantastic ambassador for us so far. And flew that bunker first day. He was in it yesterday. Go. And it’s in it again today. The same target. It is a It is on the limit. This sounded heavy. Yeah. You can see it. You can sense it sometimes, can’t you? Yep. Don’t honestly see how Rory gets this one tight to the flag here off the down slope. Pitching on a down slope. Oh, there you go. I’ve been worried. Great up and down from Maroy. Yeah, it’s dropped right off all of a sudden. Should have gone earlier. Everything is against him. I came out low and skiddy as well. I’m sure that was the flight he was after, but off the downs slope that was exactly what was going to happen. Just a misread. He hit it exactly where he was trying to. Rory, you have to accept that. Can’t read them all. Very difficult bunker shot at the B. It’s It’s so firm underneath the sand, isn’t it? You can’t get the club under it. Well, it’s a tough hole. Yeah, it’s a difficult T-shirt with the blustery winds head on the long side, which is probably the worst of the two options. He’s not feeling that. He’s sheltered amongst the houses. [Applause] Yeah, that’s a good aggressive play. Done their homework. There’s more space around that pin than it looks from his angle. I think it looks left to right, but I got a feeling it turns against the heel. Either way, it’s in. worked that out well, didn’t he? From the fairway, Maroy, go. Oh, just just with a perfect surface. He must fancy this formality I’d like to think for Mroy and it is so he and Rosner will both walk away from the sixth with threes both to a drift. This is still in the air. This one. Get going. Oh my. Oh my. Yeah, it’s good now. Brilliant. Now, well, it’s launched high into the clear blue sky and he’s brought it down almost on a dime. What an almost impossible shot that was. Thought he was going to get what he deserved. [Applause] So a birdie and Mai stays in touch with Rasmus Hoyan who is setting a furious pace at the top. Uh, too much. Too much for too much what into the wind. It may just get held up before the raft. Sensible. [Music] A good drive. A perfect pace, please. Stand still, please. Couple under par for his day as he walks to the ninth in a moment. Nipped above his playing partner on the leaderboard. [Applause] Little bit like a seven, wasn’t it? Just flirted with the first cut of rough that bounces back into the fairway. Softly through. It shouldn’t be spinning too much and it wasn’t. Oh, Rory, who loves you, baby? What a shot. Little mid wedge. It’s as good a three as you’ll ever see on this hole. Made it look so simple. I wasn’t going last. kilo. Focusing on that small. Can he judge the distance? Sounded like the top of the club. Oh, it came out very softly just as you thought. I think if it hit the green, it might have released out, but it dug into the fringe. Think he needs to go high though to stop it because it’s quite violently downhill. Yeah, that’s going to run away. Don’t see him de green it very often up the hill. That is going to be the second drop shot today for Rory Mroy. So he slides back alongside Rosner at 10 up there and Ogar leads by two once again. Right half is is the best for the view. Y’all ready? [Applause] Oh, it’s got a reaction sort of and does Jamie right in the heart of the cut and the top three just sneak peeking away from the the pelaton. This is a part of the game that’s just so good nowadays. [Music] [Applause] Just ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. Can he take advantage just slightly on the UPS slope? That’s the only issue here. Well, pretty good from Rory. If I was to say anything, maybe just a hair left or right, but I’m not convinced. It looks straight. It is straight. Backto- back birdies for Rory Mroy. And he joins Raasmus Hygar in a share of the lead. Low 170s even though it’s slightly up the hill. Tiny little target to find. You’d be forgiven if you could bail out. Not Rory. He’s looking high in the sky. Oh, the few to nearly hold it by the flag down the breeze and a very small portion of green there. God. Well, it’s three days in a row. Not an easy one with water right, heavy rough left. I think that was the worst line we’ve seen all week. Really was. And he’s done well. Really well just to hit it. He’s hit it about 160 yards. Can he get up and down? He knew needed a bounce and get really get one once again. Anthony Wall is correct. Straight putt. Thank you, David. We’ll soon find out. Maybe an ounce, but only an ounce of right to left inside the hole would have done. No. Left. Sure. Well, it’s a good T- shot, but uh it’s going to be a difficult pitch from there. Some chip. There is Anthony Wall. The one coming back for par for Mroy and he makes no mistake. Remains at 12 under. Head off to the 16th. Big helping breeze. It just needs to feather this one. Threewood Anthony. Yeah, loads of club for him. He doesn’t like it though. Middle bunker. Yeah. Try to get out. Oh, sit. Sit. A get down. Oh, [Applause] truly exceptional. We were nearly worried again at 16. Short game has shone a number of times today. It doesn’t make it any easier. Back into what Breeze is left out here. Anxious. Just tiptoes over the bunker and Okay. But the shadow nearly reached. Give me back my son. Perfection. Bail down. What’s the result going to be? Will it run? Will it keep running? [Applause] to take the lead into the final round on his own [Applause] and millimeters away. Spent a lot of time in there. It caught a lot of hole. This is the final game in the final round of the final event in the 2024 DP World Tour. Game number 25. On the tea, the Rolex Series winner at the Dubai Desert Classic. He’s the leader in the race to Dubai from Northern Ireland, Rory Maroy. Wow, it’s a big three-wood. A little bit of a flyer out of the line. Always a possibility this Bermuda even if it’s short. Checking the club face. Bit of grass being trapped between club and ball. Well, would you believe it? The most amateurish of mistakes. Not that consistent on some of these fringes. This is one of them. A brilliant pin position. You find the fairway, there was no trouble at all. You miss and you’re in all sorts of mess. So, it’s an opening bogey. Step in the opposite direction for Rory Mroy. can hold back. Wally’s got a nice hard bounce. It’s absolutely miles down there. Right side pin on the left. Needs it to this pin on the left. The shot he can hit at will. It’s trying to come. It’s coming. Oh, there is it. [Applause] should come down the slope a bit more as well. Over to you, Raasmus. He wouldn’t have been happy Ra Rasmus knocking it by him there. Oh no, no. That second shot was seven iron off that side slope. [Applause] Thanks, Jill. Thank you. He did what was important. would have kept a little head of steam up, but it still died from the left lip to the right lip in the last two feet. What is it about wanting to play in the RDER Cup that’s fueling you to this extent? Because it’s literally your focus on every single shot you told me. Yeah. Uh man, Tim, I just want to make it so much. I was I was fortunate enough to be there in Rome to watch Shane and the boys um play amazingly. I was doing commentary for BBC fizzing off the club face. Never left the flag like a long touch. That is Mroy on song on the top of this leaderboard. Well done Rory. Back to back. tie for the lead. Just trying to slide it in a little bit. Rory boed it yesterday, but that looks better. That’s fantastic. That is another Mroy highlight. Get in. That was all sorts of right for Rory. And he’s 14 under par now. Number five. Very nice. Maroy. He’s in full control at the moment. Aim point, David. He’s got another one. Four in a row for Mroy as he moves to clear of Antoine Rosnut at the top of the leaderboard. TV tower all day long, isn’t it? Yeah, exactly there. Very good. brilliant part. I thought that was it. I think he did. He’s on song today. What a golf swing. What a move with his hips from the top. That’s where the power comes from. The legs and the back. So strong now. Oh, incredible. Copy that, kids. [Applause] Oh, you don’t see many fats from Rory, do you? Well, he’s done that. Wonderful shot from Rory there. Really good. Wow. From one good futter to another. Jamie, you were absolutely spot on there. That did indeed move across the hole from left to right. A rather disappointing par after we flew this 3wood 300 yd off the first te. That’s a strange camera angle. That’s absolutely spot on. Short grass from Maloy. high and drawing. All right, slap bang in the middle of the green. Two in front. That’s just fine from there. Really well. Seems pretty controlled at the minute. That’s a good punt. It was never going to be easy to lay dead. trying to hold him off with his par putt which he does. They both make par at the eighth. 365 down the second. Hygi managed to boom in it. And that one is in that heavy Bermuda rough down the left. No. Well, I feel like that was a little unlucky. Have to think he’s pitched that exactly where he wanted to. Patchy Grain. You could see the way he approached the P. He was didn’t look like he was assured that he was going to hit the ball on the right line. Bit of indecision perhaps. And they clap and cheer almost immediately the ball struck. You know it’s pretty darn flush down the middle and it is bogey this hole Friday and Saturday. Lie is good. Maybe on a down slope a fraction but just need to send this over the ridge. It will stop on him. Brilliant arrow straight. Wow to miss the flag stick in all honesty. It’s a beautiful goal swing and propels it right down the middle. Well, this week marks our fifth and f final Rolex Series event. A shot that always seems to play slightly shorter. Must carry the ridge to catch the down slope. Go get the slope. Get the slope. It got the slope. The very last bit of it. Kicked it on. It’s a golden chance to grab one. Get in. Golden chance gone missing. [Applause] The sound that makes echoing around the houses. Come on. Out you come. Two good bounces there for both players. Oh yeah, good control from Rory to stay there [Applause] to extend. Not this time. A couple of awkward looks from the sounds of it. His touchs on 10, 11, and 12 are all not easy to read. Let’s go, Jimbo. 5 ft’s the closest anyone’s been. He if anyone can get it, Rory’s the man. No, he’s pushed it. That quite often happens, doesn’t it, Spencer? You’re trying to really launch one in the air. You just hang back a little bit and the club face comes in a hair open. Reminds me of a sort of a walk-off air. It’s worn. Nothing guaranteed here apart from kicking forward if he pitches the green. Had duff written on over, didn’t he? That one. That was just a horror down the slope. Needs to hold something just to get the afternoon going. Stayed there. So we are going to be all tied up again at the top. Mroy has come back to Rasmus Hoya. [Applause] Come back a little bit. It’s got to keep drawing further. Keep going. Yeah. Had to play a draw away from the water, but he’s overdone it. He’s overdone it. That’s a tough tough chip from there for this. This needs to be jammed into the hill and it needs to just run as quietly as it can onto the green. [Applause] Well, that was that was really good from Rory. I can’t do anything else than what he did. That had to go right, didn’t it? Down towards the water. Look for a St. Bernard on the merry go round. Know the feeling on these greens. Been every green, hasn’t it? Since the since the ninth needs to be slightly right hand side if you can. I think it’s heading that way. Come out of there. Well, I think it’s a lie. Light. Take a chair. Take a chair. Take a chair. Very good. Brilliant, Jamie. Yeah, I agree. [Applause] So, they stayed locked together. Hygi and Mroy. [Music] We have the finish for an awful long time because posing on it. So, it’s just all about gauging the what it’s playing. And they’ve been here all week, so they’re very much in sync here. So, I’d expect one to get inside 12 ft. go. What a shot from Rory Mroy. Just when he needed it, he has stefted it at 16. And that one may just relieve a little bit of pressure that was starting to build. Wander up. It is his first birdie since the fifth hole today. So that puts him back in front for now. How about that? A par it is. And it means that Glory Maroy will take a oneshot lead. The 72nd hole, the last hole. [Applause] Sensational drive. Low bullet cut. Yeah, that was just awesome. [Applause] Good shot. Not great though. The putter is the right choice. [Applause] You can see the speed on it. Far from dead. So they will both have birdie parts. And if Raasmus Higard And he only needs one. And Rory has done the double. The DP World Tour champion and the race to Dubai champion as well. Mission accomplished. Rory, many many congratulations on winning both the DP World Tour Championship and the race to Dubai. Let’s talk about the championship. First of all, a record equaling third win in this championship, a fourth Rolex Series win, and a seventh win in Dubai. What does this one mean to you? Uh, it means a lot. Um, gather yourself. I’ll keep talking. You just take a deep breath. Yeah. Um, I’ve been through a lot this year. um professionally, personally, um and it it feels like the the fitting end to to 2024. Um you know, I’ve uh yeah, look, I’ve I’ve persevered this year a lot. Um had close calls, wasn’t able to get it done. Um so to to be able to to get over the line, you know, I didn’t, you know, I got off to a great start and then I didn’t have my best around the middle of the round. And I think Rasbus and I both sort of struggled to get any momentum, but uh I thought saving par on 15 was huge. Uh and then the you know I I hit um you know I made four great swings coming in the the the wedge on 16, the shot into 17 and then the two shots into the last. So um really pleased with the way I finished and um you know thankfully I I hung on on a tough day and and got the job done. Talked about those opportunities missed and how much they hurt you and there was another one today that you really wanted to get. You said last year you stood on the green with one trophy in a Hoy garden and you wanted both. How much pressure were you feeling? How were the emotions down the stretch because he was looking awfully good? He was. He’s, you know, he’s such a solid player. Um does doesn’t make a ton of mistakes. Uh yeah, I was I was feeling it. You know, I I had chances. Um I had a chance on 10 that slipped by, a chance on 11, then I boogied 13, you know, had a seven iron in my hand and 14 going into the par five. Only make a par there. So yeah, going into those last few holes, I was um I knew I just needed something to happen and you know, the the wedge shot to, you know, to a foot on 16 was was the catalyst I needed to to push on and play those last couple of holes. Well, you’ve won your sixth race to Dubai, equaling the legendary Sriano Bayas. Just describe the sense of achievement. Yeah. Um it’s really cool. I I think everyone knows what Sevy means to European golf, to RDER Cup players. Um, you know, European Rder Cup locker room. All we have are quotes of Sevy. We had a a changing room with Sebie shirt from 95, the last RDER Cup he played. um he means so much to European golf and for me to be mentioned in the same breath I’m very proud. I’ll try and ask a long question. Colin Montgomery when he won his eighth order of merit I for one and many others thought that will never be challenged. You now have the opportunity at the age of just 35 to not only match it but potentially beat it. Describe that opportunity for me and how you feel about it. Um I’m up for it. Um, you know, I’ve just won my third in a row. Um, and it’s, you know, I’ve really made it a priority of my schedule over the last few years to, um, to give myself the best chance coming into the end of the year to to win the race to Dubai. And, uh, I don’t see that being any different for the foreseeable future. So, um, you know, I’m going to go for my seventh next year and and try to chase Monty down. This is your last competitive start of the year. You can celebrate hard. I can um I’m looking forward to it’s been a long year. Um it’s my 27th tournament which is a lot for me. Looking forward to a little bit of downtime. Um I’ve got a lot of friends and my family here um in Dubai. So I’m sure we’ll we’ll have a good night tonight. Rory, many many congratulations. Well played. Thanks very much Tim. A long hard year and a lot of emotion bottled up there with us. Thank you your highness shik Mansour, your excellencies, ladies and gentlemen. Uh I stand here very grateful, very humble, humbled. Um Dubai is a second home to me. I’ve lived here. Uh I’ve competed here. I have so many close friends from from here. Uh, and to finish the year like this, uh, it’s a dream come true. It’s been, it’s been hard at times. Um, I’ve had a lot of close calls. Um, but to finish the year off the way I did today, uh, it means it means the world to me. Uh, to to be mentioned in in the same breath as Sevy Baras. Uh, I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would be here. So, thank you. I’d also like to thank the EUR uh the DP World Tour partners starting with DP DP World. Um, if it wasn’t for your support um we wouldn’t have a tour as good as this. So, thank you so much uh to Emirates, to Rolex, uh all the partners of the DP World Tour. Um without your support, you know, none of this would be possible. So, from on behalf of all the players, thank you. Uh I want to give a shout out to Harry. Um Harry has been with me every step of the way for the last uh seven years I guess now. Um he gets his fair share of stick and it’s not warranted. So um he’s an amazing caddy. He’s the best friend that I could ever ask for. And um thanks mate. I have my family here this week. Erica, Poppy, I know you’re somewhere. Um, I love you. Thanks for sticking by me. Thank you for your support for your support. Um, can’t wait to go to Ireland and um, celebrate celebrate this properly. [Applause] uh Sean, Nyall, Ro, uh all the the team that I have around me. Um you guys are amazing. Uh I you make it easy for me to just go out, play golf, focus on the important stuff. So um thank you for everything this year and um for the past dec decade. Thank you. Um also everyone here this week, thank you so much for your support. Volunteers, marshalss. Um I love coming back to Dubai. As I said, it’s a second home for me. Um my next competitive start is the Hero Dubai Desert Classic in January and I hope to see you all there. Thank you so much. Let’s hear Maroy. To watch another DP World Tour video, click here. 1. Seriously? This channel is obsessed with him. Where are the highlights for Fitzpatrick who was the best finishing British player? Or McIntyre?
