The PGA TOUR returns to Tahoe Mountain Club in California this week for the Barracuda Championship with plenty of up-and-coming talent alongside established names teeing it up. One of the most notable being Max Homa who returns to Truckee for the first time since 2017 after a T5 finish in his last start at the John Deere Classic as he looks to improve his standing in the FedExCup. Defending champion Nick Dunlap became the first player to win as both an amateur and professional in the same season last year. There’s plenty on the line for Adam Hadwin this week, who finds himself at No. 129 in the FedExCup standings. Former champions teeing up this week include Erik van Rooyen, Chez Reavie and Andrew Putnam.

And we see that it’s out there. Doug Gim making a move on the front nine for birdie on the ninth. Filling it up. Gim with 12 points on the day, 25 total. Jason Scrier, the shot of the day coming on the par five, 11th, his third. And check out the reaction there from Chris Ventur. Did you just make that? 78 with 18 holes to go. 2021 champ Eric Van Roy came into the day one point off the lead and thanks to that Eagle he is ball starts right at the hole starting to fall a little bit to the right though. That’ll play. Nearly holds it to kicking range. What a shot by Van Roy. Sudden it completely changes things. At the ninth, Ryan Gerard. So, in terms of FedEx Cup standings, Ryan is certainly the cream of the crop this week. And with that comes some expectations, some pressure. Well, this would be exactly what Kim was talking about, how it’s starting to firm up a little bit. Delicate shot. [Applause] Yeah. So, well done. I think he can handle that one there, boys. Up on the green, Isaiah Celinda, the rookie for Birdie. He has had a good year this year on his rookie years. It’s always the hardest challenge. There’s a good way to finish the front nine. Very impressive indeed. Is one of those things. It’s It’s so mental, but it can become a mechanical flaw because of how you think. Trust me cuz I know. I’ve been there. Andrew Putnham on the 16th. Where? make him think about what he’s been doing. Or she. Putters are always pretty good to Andrew Putnham. I promise no more Putinham puns today. Maybe tomorrow. And a very thick lie here. And he’s judged that perfectly. Is it perfect? Yes, it is. Perfect speed, perfect line. back to back. Now Whitnell trying to chip one in here. He’s thinking about it. He got the flag stick out and that’s why you do that. It’s funny how when you want to chip it in, you take the flag out, but when you’re putting a lot of times you leave the flag in. I don’t get it. If you 11th fairway, Gerard. So in prime position off the tea, one bounce and there it is. Now, what a opportunity that’s going to be for Eagle. That may come back just a little bit off the bottom of that slope. Keep coming. Okay, so going to have to take it all the way up to the edge of the green and he pitched it absolutely perfectly. That was a really good shot. That was [Music] not a lot of guys I would imagine, are going to be hitting eight here. Oh, this is a good looking line right here. Just a smidge right of it. Yeah, really nicely played below the hole. I’m saying 38. I think that’s the number I’m kind of looking at right now. Gerard for birdie. Wow, nice putt, birdie. Okay, can he keep the pace up from here? Just drift off to the right. If he doesn’t keep the pace up, well done. I look at what it means to them. I love that there it’s a hold that’s getable but nobody in our last group taking advantage. Jacqu Chrysik earlier look then from a similar spot where we’ll see Eric Van Royan Ben Martin earlier. There we go. Not a lot of good things have happened in the last round or so for Ben. That was one of the highlights. Got a lot left for Vale coming off that birdie the previous hole. Yeah. See if he can get one all the way to this back pin here at the 12th. Yeah, that’s really well played. Val. Mhm. French version of vamos or let’s go. Oh, look at this. Look at this. And not stoic. Stoic. Yeah, this guy’s in control of his emotions. Beautifully done there. Yeah, I think they’re concerned about that false front because it’s only three paces over that false front. Now Rico Hoey ball on the way from 110 yds. Needs to get up one big bounce. And it does. Gerard par 316th. Wind’s kind of laid down. This is a wedge. Oh yeah, this looks really good. Yeah, that’s an accessible pin today at the 16th. Yeah. 166. A little breeze in from the right. This is an aggressive line if it’s enough. Yeah. Really good. And couple nice. Hoey feeling it now. Backto back birdies. He’s up to third with 30 points. Two behind Gerard. Let’s smooth this one on. Get it on the green and make something happen. Second shot on the way. Oh, you can see him trying to turn that to that back left pin if it stays up. Oh, how good is this? Veagle putt up coming. Let’s make the tie at the top official. 23-year-old Frenchman Tom Vant who’s only got a tie for 26 as his best showing this year on the DP World Tour a share of the lead with three. Hoe’s third. He’s made backto back birdies. That’s a good looking shot there. Steady, steady. Great shot. So, another opportunity for birdie. Let’s see if this one rolls true into the back of the hole. Oh, that was a little bit of a jab, wasn’t it? Yeah, but I think a little bit in the back of his head, he was thinking, I’ve missed a couple of these ones to the right. All right. All right. Oh, what a bonus. That thing was a going a good 68 ft by the hole. the best. But this was a big piece of fortune. Look at how far by this ball was going to go. Clatter is right into the center of the flag stick. Sounded like a tiny mishit there. Bit heavy that putt to tie it up, but it’s Ryan Gerard who’s the outright leader standing by with trip. All of those big events for 2026 and beyond. Ryan Gerard in the pole position right now. Rico Hoey joins him. He’s found a little something on the greens, isn’t he? On this back nine. Beautifully done there. That first cut of rough. So, he’s going to have to play something low. He That’s kind of the call shot here because he’s got some green to work with. Sometimes when you’re forced BR to just play a shot and you don’t have options, sometimes it can actually help as a player. You earn the right to A mediocre day. Beautiful camera angle. There we go. There we go. Ryan Gerard, Rico Hoey, both guys looking for their first win in the final group with 34 points in the second to last group. Huge opportunity for Tom Veant, the 23-year-old Frenchman who plays on the DP World Tour and Eric Van Royan, the closest Chaser one back. Thanks for watching the PJ tour on YouTube.
