Yeah, I was in there with the rules official and wasn’t arguing my case, but I’m disappointed that they don’t have more camera angles on it. You know, the one zoomed in slow motion, you know, they’re trying to tell me if it doesn’t move from the naked eye, if you don’t see it moving, it didn’t move. Um, I told them I definitely was looking down towards the ball as I was taking that practice swing and I didn’t see it move. So, but um I had to take the penalty because like I I’m still not sure to be honest whether it was or not, but I had to take the penalty because I can’t have my name talked about or tossed around like that and I just, you know, I get on with it. It’s obviously very disappointing. Um I felt like I played really really well today. Uh and yeah, that’s that’s hard to take. It’s um but look, I’ll just have to dust myself off and get out there tomorrow and um yeah, give it a

I think its possible that he didn't see it move, but it definitely moved. they both can be true
How could he remember 3 holes later that he was definitely looking at the ball during a practice swing. Hmmm
It did move, but I still think that's a ridiculous rule. He clearly didn't intentionally move it or actually touch the ball at all. It moved based on the air from his practice swing and shifted from one blade of grass to another. That honestly shouldn't constitute a penalty in my opinion. But i'm not a purist.
This is bullshit, he isn't trying to get an advantage from this. Golf is hard enough don't penalise a golfer for this.
Fair play for him taking it like a champ
A good example of a great sportsman 🏌️♂️⛳️
More camera angles!!! Hilarious. The PGA should have at least 2 camera close ups on every ball all the time!! Actually, it only takes one to catch a cheater like Lowry.
Shane Lowry is the new Patrick Reed
If he was looking down he definitely would of seen it move
Silly game somtimes ini
It moved. 😂
"I think it moved." -George Costanza
How can this really be a penalty when the ball is sat up on rough like that, it's just the grass gradually giving way… Stupid ruling!
Keep your club away from the ball and you won’t get a penalty. It moved buddy.
Can’t stand the bloke, children watching and he’s always swearing, like McIntyre, disgusting role model!
I am not a fan of Shane but this penalty is ridiculous. The rules of golf need to be simplified and is more common sense.
I think his career has nosedived. Consistency is just not there now.
This is class
Didn’t make contact, manipulate, advance ball, or improve lie… I get the practice swing disturbed the ball somehow but just walking around the ball can do the same thing, especially if you weigh 225lbs
It's a ridiculous rule because not every practice swing by every player is on camera. No more television penalties, it's not a level playing field.
If the rule says you have to see it move, then why is the camera outweighs the rules book? Either stick to the rule in the book or throw the book away.
It doesn't even look like he caused it to move
I think what happened is there’s a bunch of ppl with money on Lowry to finish well this week and the Sportsbooks called it in to secure the $$$
I keep my opinion on Lowry to myself but gee you read some of the comments here and people are very nasty and judgemental.
It moved. He wasn't trying to cheat. But it's a known rule that's there for a reason and the best players in the world know this can happen if you ground the club in the wrong spot.
Karma. He is a jerk
