Over the last six or seven years, Nike Golf kind of lost their way For a while, they just didn’t get it. The magic was gone, and I personally just kind of stopped caring, like a lot of other people out there And that’s why I’m kind of surprised, but also so excited, because, guys, I think Nike golf is back, and I’m here for it. So today, we’re going to talk about these shoes and why I love them. We’re also going to talk about kind of my history with Nike golf because it’s a long and lengthy one. And we’re going to talk about where I see the future going with Nike, because I think that after really the last five, six, seven years of them not getting it I think they’ve finally got it, and I expect to see them come back in a big way So here’s something you should know about me. I grew up in Eugene, Oregon, the birthplace of Nike I grew up going to the prefontaine every year. My childhood was tennis, and I was Nike everything. It’s like you don’t grow up in Oregon, going to every Oregon duck football game for two decades without becoming a Nike fan. So when I started Breaking Eighty in 2012, I was Nike, everything, my bag was Nike, my clubs were Nike, all my clothes were Nike And I thought they were great. And then slowly, almost like imperceptibly, that started to shift over the years Obviously, years ago, they divested out of equipment entirely. It seemed like Nike was just giving up on golf, which I was kind of bummed about. But also, I think I was kind of ready to move on from them as well As Breaking 80 was having more success, and I was getting exposed to a lot of other brands, a lot of other brands seemed to be more all in on golf, and Nike just didn’t seem like they really cared. They weren’t making stuff that was interesting, they weren’t making stuff that was inspired. inspiring And for years, I just didn’t go there. I don’t think I’ve done a Nike review in, like five years which is crazy, because that’s my hometown brand. That’s the brand that I love. But now, I think things are changing, and that’s really exciting So a few times a year, I’ll go into a Nike store, and it used to be that every time I would find a ton of stuff I would like, and it would be a few hundred dollars by the time I got out the door. But lately, over the last, I don’t know, five years, every time I go into a Nike store, I either don’t find something in my size or don’t find something I like And I rarely, if ever, have bought anything Well, a couple weeks ago, went into a Nike store, and for the first time in years, I was inspired about two pairs of shoes, two pieces of apparel And it weren’t the fact that my four year old was with me and was kind of crabby, I probably would have stayed and bought more. It was the first time I went into Nike and was like, oh, this is good. I like this. This is cool And it wasn’t just Nike golf. It was kind of Nike across the board, and that makes it even more exciting But this is golf, so let’s talk about golf So a couple weeks ago, I went to the I found these. These are the Nike Infinity Tour next percent twos And these are what I think are the best looking Nike golf shoes I’ve seen in years. You know, Save for I do like some of the throwback air maxes The Jordan golf stuff, I was kind of a little on the fence aboutout, but those are kind of a different category. These are actual performance tour level shoes made for real golfers who need a shoe to perform. And I got to say, after a couple rounds at them, that’s exactly what they do. They perform So lately with my golf shoes, I’ve been kind of all over the map. I’ve been wearing a lot of G4 The G112s, I like a lot, the G8s. I’ve been wearing a lot of the painter 87s, which are definitely more of a clean, classic design, and I’ve been wearing some true leakssware for some of my casual rounds And with all of those shoes, save for maybe the painters, they’re kind of like an acquired taste. They’re not going to be for everybody. Some of them are a little bit more fashion forward. They just look a little bit different. Well, these just straight up look like tour level golf shoes. And I think that’s a good thing for most people Everybody knows what a Nike shoe looks like just your general golf shoe or tennis shoe, and it’s a certain look that kind of hits a mass appeal. But to do that and still do it in a way that’s special is a tricky balance, especially for a company that, like I said, I feel like they’ve lost their way, I feel like they’re starting to come back around With this particular shoe, I love the colorway, white, gray, purple. It looks really good The air Zoom airbags on the fore foot look really good And then it uses their fly weave technology to not only keep the shoe light, but also keep them waterproof So one of the things you’re going to find with a lot of tour level shoes is they’re really heavy The Adidas 2 or 360s, the new true mavens that I recently reviewed, those are really heavy shoes And these feel significantly lighter in part because of the material that they use And honestly, in some ways, that’s something that only Nike can do. They’ve spent so many billions of dollars on material technology that we sometimes forget that, yeah, they’re a huge corporation, but they can do some special stuff that’s actually going to lead to some of the highest performing shoes in the world And after playing a few rounds with these, I can say that they’re some of the best performing golf shoes that I’ve used Hey, real quick, not sure which golf shoes are right for you, and do you have a very specific thing that you’re looking for? Go take my 30 second quiz. I will link to it below. You can go do it right now while you’re watching this video, and I’m going to give you my best recommendation on the shoes that are the best fit based on your needs I think you’re going to find it super useful, so go ahead and do that. All right, back to the video So let’s talk about actual performance on the course. I’m a size 12, often Nike sizing can run a little bit narrow, and these have been a perfect fit for me I was a little concerned about heel slip, as I had read that some people had issues with that. I had no issues at all These are a size 12, and they fit me perfectly Again, being a tour level shoe, I expected them to be a little bit more stiff. I expected more of a break in period But after walking 18 holes in them, my feet felt great, and there really was no break in period necessary. Just right out of the gate, they were super comfortable One thing that could kind of be a pro or con, depending on how you look at it is Nike uses their own proprietary spikes that are not removable I did find that walking on concrete, like walking through the parking lot, I noticed the spikes a little bit more. I kind of felt them when I was walking. Again, 98% of the time, when you’re wearing a spiked golf shoe, you’re going to be on grass on the golf course. So it’s not that big of a deal but I did notice the spikes a little bit more on concrete than I have with other golf shoes I think that’s probably just through the fact they’re quite a bit wider than your typical soft spikes, maybe a little bit higher So not really an issue in any meaningful way, but it’s definitely something that I noticed Traction on these shoes was excellent I have yet to play with them in the rain, but I had absolutely no slipping. Most of my rounds, I still play in spikeless shoes, so every time I go and play with a spike shoe It’s like, ohh, I do notice the extra traction. I do notice the fact that I feel noticeably more planted when I am swinging, and that’s exactly what I got with these. I felt super stable, super planted And while I haven’t tested them out in rain or wet weather yet, on a dry course, they performed wonderfully So are these shoes going to be for everyone? No, there’s going to be a lot of people that are still kind of anti society, anti big box Anti Adidas, Nike, all of those big companies, if you’re looking for something a little bit more unique or a little bit more boutique, then obviously a pair of Nike golf shoes are not going to be right for you But if you’re looking for a shoe that I think looks really good, has a ton of proprietary technology built into it, is super comfortable, lightweight, performs, then I’m not sure there are that many better spiked shoes out on the market right now Don’t get me wrong. I still love all the G4, the painters, the truths, all the stuff that I wear on a regular basis, but I think part of it, for me, is just surprise It’s been so long since I’ve dove back into Nike and worn a pair of Nike golf shoes that I’ve just been pleasantly surprised and really excited about what’s to come It seems like they’re really starting to take golf seriously, and with the money they have behind them, the design talent they have behind them, their storytelling ability, I have a feeling we’re going to see some really, really cool stuff from Nike over the coming months and years, and that’s exciting One other quick recent discovery I’ve found that I just want to mention, because I’ve loved it, is this is the 247 line They have like 24 seven pants, jogger shorts. This is a crew neck. It is like one of the most comfortable sweatshirts I have ever worn. It is so soft. It’s a little bit baggier than what I’m used to, but that’s also kind of the style these days But the more I wear it, the more I like it, the more comfortable it is So if you’re looking for comfortable clothes that you can wear while traveling or around the house or really doing anything, a big fan of the new 24/7 stuff, so go check it out Vvet, I kind of want to know what you think. What do you think about the new Nike golf stuff? Do you like the direction heading? Do you think they’re coming back around? Or do you think that they’re too late and they miss the boat? Drop comment. Let’s have a conversation about it, because I really am genuely curious. what you think. With that, my name is Sean Ogle, the founder of this thing here, breaking 80, where you talking about cool golf products, cool golf courses, and all of that type of stuff. So if you’re into cool golf stuff, then you should probably subscribe. I’ll wait. Three, two, one, thank you. Thumbs up, drop comet, do all of those things If you’re not sure what to watch next, go watch this video where I talk about my all time favorite golf shoes. Hope you have an excellent day, and we’ll see you on the next video. Peace

  1. like the shoes Scotty Scheffler wears , real removable spikes. haven't tried them on for fit sometimes run small for me also.

  2. Seriously? Are those Nike shoes trying to go woke? What kind of color is that? Certainly not appealing to traditional golfers.

  3. I have three pairs of these. Once they break in, it’s been the best performing shoe I’ve worn on the course. The forefoot zoom sole is clutch. I’m sure there are better shoes out there. But when these are on sale I’ve gotten them for about $110. IMO it’s a no brainer. Oh! Get them in wide lol

  4. Currently wearing these, really supportive and comfortable. They do a variety of colours, just FYI lol

  5. Will never buy Nike Golf shoes again. Purchased a pair years ago and within 2 months the sole is separating form the upper. Contacted Nike and they would not replace the shoe to stand behind their product. This has never happened on any other golf shoe to me. I would avoid.

  6. Nike all flash no substance the shoes look good feel terrible and poor stability/grip/overall performance

  7. Too late for me, I have a pair of Nike Zoom's which were by far the most uncomfortable golf shoes I've had. Currently using Ecco Biom H4 BOA which nothing beats for comfort, due for an upgrade at he end of this season and I cant see me getting anything other than another pair of Ecco's.

  8. I have a pair of the Victory Pro 4s and the Infinity tours and find myself playing in them alot more than my FJ Premieres. The Victory Pros are just so comfortable.

  9. The infinity are so damn narrow i tried going up a size, the same size, and wide in both; nothing worked. They looked awesome but the toe box was so narrow i couldnt keep them

  10. This is are real shoes. I have the BOA version and they are fantastic. You can play couple of rounds and very comfortable.

  11. Honestly they lost me. Footjoy got it with the Hyperflex carbons, best overall shoe I’ve worn in my 30+ years of golf (and I used to call them FootPains).

  12. surprised your reviewing these over the Newer Scotty & Rory models.
Been eyeing this model in the white/green for a while… just got email that they're reduced down rto 134$ from 180 on golf galaxy right now. Hmmmm.. Coincidence?

  13. I had the prior generation, really liked them but between holes at my course there are a few gravel paths and one of the spikes broke off after a couple of rounds. If they came with replaceable spikes I’d probably buy again
