Are you just getting into golf and wondering what kind of clubs you need to get started, without breaking the bank? In this Your Golf NCG video, our PGA Pro and presenter Jack Backhouse team headed up to Edinburgh to take a look at what’s on offer at GolfClubs4Cash. He sought to complete a beginner’s set sourced from GolfClubs4Cash, the UK’s leading pre-owned golf equipment retailer.
From driver to putter, we break down each club in the bag, explain why it’s beginner-friendly, and share tips on what to look for when building your first set. Whether you’re heading to the driving range or gearing up for your first full round, this guide will help you feel confident and prepared.
The rules of golf say you can have up to 14 clubs in the bag, but we say if you’re a beginner there is no need to have that many to begin with. We believe that most golfers generally have too many clubs in the bag. So, we have outlined all the essentials you need to get your golfing journey off to the best possible start.
This video is perfect for new golfers, casual players, or anyone looking for a budget-friendly way to get into the game! Got questions about beginner gear or need advice on your first set? Drop them in the comments, we’d love to help you get started!

Welcome to NCG Your Golf. This channel is for you, the dedicated club golfer to help you improve your game and enjoy your golf more.
We specialise in equipment reviews and golf instruction, and we are lucky enough to play some of the Top 100 golf courses in GB&I.
The channel is hosted by PGA Professional Jack Backhouse, and he will help you improve your golf by helping you fix your slice, fix your gook, help you drive the ball longer, strike your irons pure, and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
Steve Carroll, an R&A rules official will often stop by to ensure you are not breaking the rules and get the opinion of an average club golfer.
Jack will dive deep into technology in reviews of all the latest golf equipment, helping you decide which is the longest driver, which fairway wood will stop you from topping the ball, and which wedges will pitch it closer, so you can lower your scores.

Great video!
New golfers, just getting into the game, have no idea yet how good a video this was.
Driver (a simple block of wood), 3 5 and 7 irons and a putter were my first set 62 years ago.
I felt I was better with a wood over a driver.
Really great video . Thank you 🙏🏼
BRAVO! Pure Gold this vid!!
I am 55 years old and just getting into the game. I recently read an article stating how little the technology has changed in the last 5-10 years. Shortly afterwards, I stumbled upon this video. This was perfect for me, I went into it thinking : get all the high end models from a few years ago that folks didn't end up liking enough to keep. I also went on eBay and found many of 2022,2023 models brand new and deaply discounted. My driver and putter were the most costly @ few hundred each. The irons were 300 and I did pick up a 7 wood and pitching wedge. New new Ping Hoofer bag 60, but its camo.
I need but how i live in Bangladesh
2 Wood, 5 Wood, 7 Wood, 5 Hybrid, 6-P Game Improvement Irons, Attack Wedge, Sand Wedga, & Mallet Putter = 12 Clubs. Easy Clubs to control and plsy. The Callaway Diablo Tour 15 Ball Pack for $30 US are good (Twin Pack Sales for $45 are Superb Value for beginners!). Good pair of golf shoes and glove for lead hand are also important as well.
