Brand new Tacomao driver has arrived. We are not in tight with Tacomao. However, they’ve been very kind and been sending us products to review. That’s about the extent of our relationship. Like we’re we’re not sponsored by them. We’re nothing. So, they sent us this driver to review. The problem is ignous. They have not told us anything about it. So, this is going to be a blind Ignis. Ignis Agnes. We are going to do a blind review. You know, sometimes like a triple diamond video or something, you’re like, I know this is going to be hard to hit based on what what I know about it. Is this a low spin driver? I don’t know. I don’t even know what it looks like. Oh, it says Ignis on it. D1. Oh, it’s got three weight. This looks like a PX speed driver and to give us an extra weight. Okay, so we can put weight in the toe or heel. Looks like it’s got a little speed pocket. This looks like a tour edge mixed with a PXG is what it looks like. 10 1/2°. So, their last driver I think was 360, Alex, was that right? Yeah, 360. So, I’m assuming this one was going to come in around that same price point. But obviously, you’re seeing this the day it dropped. So, you probably know the price. We don’t. Aesthetically, let’s talk aesthetics. Looks pretty good. Now, their last one was called the John Wick of Drivers cuz it was all murdered out black really. So, this is 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 eight. So, I’m assuming this is an 8 g and these are 3 g beds. If I were a benton man, so the heavy weight’s in the back. I’m guessing we can swap this to put a heavy weight in the toe to help keep the face open or put it in the heel to help close the face depending if you’re draw kind of a matte black murdered out. You said based on the old one, Tate, you said the old one’s 359, so it’s probably going to be the same. You counted the dashes? Yeah. This is 13 dashes. So, this one must be a heavy weight, an extra heavy. This one has eight. So, you can flop it. So, it looks like two degrees up, add 2° or subtract two degrees. So, probably flat mode. Yeah, we can put it in N for neutral. Um, that is shattered. So, see that, dude? I’ve never seen a torque wrench do that. I didn’t know they could do that. It’s broken. We’re assuming it’s going to be 350ish. Their irons. Yeah. make a lot of sense as a budget iron because there’s not a lot of iron sets for 300 400 bucks, right? Yeah, there are a lot of really good drivers in the $300 price range. Yeah, there’s a lot. Drivers harder. You got Tour Edge, you have the Highore, you have Muno’s $299. Oh man. Yeah. And for the money, it’s a good driver. And like what’s the Qi10 going for right now? Still four $3.99. AI smokes you can get for $3.99. You just break it more. Oh, we got pieces of plastic chunks of plastic. Ah, Sim 2 is $2.99. You can still get that. Yeah, she’s broken. That’s a pretty nice head cover. I like it. I like that shape there. It’s kind of cool. Sits nice. I think it goes well with the Tacoma lineup. So, technology wise, outside of shiftable parameter waiting and this cute little orange line. Is it plast? Oh, it’s just paint. No, I can’t tell you anything about it. Titanium face. I can’t tell anything by flicking it. tell you that right now. I tried. Didn’t didn’t tell me anything. Got these nice ingrained lines. Those are actually milled into the face. Those called grooves or Yeah, that would be your classic groove. Yeah. Yeah, we’ll go with grooves. Yeah, we got the Ventus 6X in it. Non Velcore model. I like the murdered out black. You like the black? Yeah. I prefer a matte black. I think that bother me. Let’s see how it goes. First swing. Oh, probably not. So, first impressions, performance obviously was okay. I pulled a lot of those. The sound was horrific. One of the worst you’ve heard. Yeah. Yeah, that was that was rough. And I’m sure it wouldn’t sound as bad outside, but we hit a lot of different drivers in here. And I’ve never been that shocked. That was a pretty organic reaction there. Good thing we were caught on camera. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Okay, that makes more sense why you’re pulling them left. It’s offset, huh? Lot of offset. Yeah. Lot of offset. I’m thinking this is just more probably at this price point, it’s just a driver for the average Joe that doesn’t suit everybody. Yeah. That’s probably why they give you the extra weight, huh? Yeah. We purposely walk and be the first group out. That way we’re not waiting. And we were ahead of timing and these guys were literally running with their golf bags like, “Can we play through?” While we’re trying to putt, like literally messing us up, screaming from the previous hole. Yeah. They’re like, “Hey, can we play through?” Like they were not even done with the hole and on they’re not even on the T- box waiting for us. They were they were jogging through the par five trying to trying to catch us trying to jump us even though they weren’t finished with the while we’re in the middle of putting. Yeah. And so I had some some words with them about that. You got to be ready to play through if you’re going to ask. I’m like that’s why I got up 2 weeks ago and booked the 6 a.m. tea time. Yeah. So this exact thing doesn’t happen. And so you’re not bugging me. Yeah. Cuz he’s like, “Well, we got to get to work.” I’m like, “I got to get to work, but sure. Your time is more valuable than mine. You go ahead.” Yeah. And then he’s like, “Okay. But no, I was never going to give him a bang. Like no bang. No, never never going to give him that southpaw. It was There was a lake right there, though. You could have You could have chucked. And he was a small guy. I would have just tomahawkked my driver off the T- box at him. Sam um Windham Clark style. All right, got a toe weight here. I’m a tow guy, so this should help me. Oh yeah, I can feel that toe weight now. Cuz what’s the swing? Your guesstimate was 5 g extra weight. Yeah. Yeah. So that’s almost that’s But now that I know that weights in the toe, I can really step on one. Cuz you have confidence in it. I have confidence I’m not going to overcook it. Oh yeah, that’s a hazle. That’s a hazle right there. Whoops. You know who might? He seems like a very nice person. Who? But Brian could throw a couple people in a lake. The same. Yeah, this Brian. And then I’m going to try it against my game real quick. So, what did you you move the lighter weight off of the back of the club into the toe? So, now it’s less forgiving. No, I put the heaviest weight in the toe. So, in theory, do you you move the heavy weight, the more weights in the back of the club, the more forgiving the club should be in theory. So, now the toe should slow down, which means the face should be a little bit more open. Face is definitely going to be held open. See, and you knowing that tried to overorrect out on the toe. Oh my goodness, dude. I don’t like this. No, I messed it up. Yeah. Shouldn’t have messed with that weight. It was a lot easier to hit before. No. Let me try this. Cowboy now. I made that way too spinny for you. Yeah. You know, God, and that’s the best. Oh, you’re trying yours. I put these weights back. Are you okay? I just want to see like how much better this sounds. Let’s see if we can hear a noticeable sound difference. Oh yeah, Alex. Still swung on me. Third party. Was the sound different? I think so. Yeah, definitely more of a thud instead of a loud harsh tink. The Tacoma only sounds weird every couple of shots, though. You think that’s that cheap material like that is with the irons? Dude, I Oh, what happened? Alex, did I just strip that out? Yes. Second time ratcheting it and it slipped. Oh, no. What do we do? I think I just tried it again. Trust me, I’ve stripped a screw in the past and you just you keep going till it’s circular. All right, that’s it. Not touching it now. I love my driver so much. I just love it. Yeah. Don’t you think? Yeah, I do. I mean, what am I even thinking testing other drivers? How much is that driver, though? Double probably. No, triple with the shaft. This This driver is 599 plus 350 on the shaft. So, yeah, 950. Actually, it might be $9.99 with this M’s edition Callaway Elite Core model. But I put the weight in the toe on this. Helps keep the face open. And then this is the result. Dude, this thing is stripped good. See, that’s the result. Just beautiful. Just lovely. Getting saucy. 154. That’s all I got. Can I try my gamer? Yeah. Look at that carry though. God, you know it’s good when your driver is good when you can swing that hard and it still goes down the middle. 162. Go in, dude. So, my gamer is the Qi 10 Max. 12° knock down to a 10 five like 10 the third so it’s 10.3 which helps me keep that butter cut but it doesn’t look offset at all. So we just created a video concept within making the video. Okay, these Tacomaomas versus our drivers and what besides that shot, what a difference having a properly fitted driver makes. Well, also that’s my first swing from that stock setup to my gamer. So, it might take me a couple. Okay. I mean, you don’t have to get defensive. It’s fine. It’s too I think the Qi10 is a little hotter off the face than my Callaway, though. You think? Mhm. Really? I think the Callaway is more forgiving, though. I think the titanium face is hotter. Oh, yeah. See, having a fitted driver, I think, just makes a big difference. Let’s try one more with the gamer. This is the hard thing about um testing different clubs is it takes you a while to get back in a rhythm. 10 minutes ago, I was I was just in such a rhythm with I went through my whole bag, was hitting everything great. Then we start testing other stuff, moving weights around. It’s hard to get Yeah. your swing bat. There we go. Let us know in the comment section if you guys want a speed training video. So, I think we’re going to have the same issue with driver that we talked about with the irons is you really it’s it behooves you to get fitted. I never heard that word before. I liked it. It does behoove you. Behoove hoof. Behove the plural form. Hooves. It behooves you. So, as you can see, the Tacoma driver can confirm. Can confirm. and confirm what the Tacoma driver can perform. Uh-huh. But you’re just kind of picking. You’re picking 6S, 6X. You’re kind of in that same lineup of just going to Golf Galaxy and grabbing something off the shelf. And is that really worth saving the money? If there’s one thing you want to get fitted for, it’s driver. You’re swinging it the fastest, which means it’s got to be the most dialed in. Yeah. But like obviously you can see my fully fit driver can still be a little squirly. I don’t know, man. Half the price, third of the price, we don’t know what it’s going to come in at. I think it’s very very adequate and and solid. It has good ball speed. Um I like the adjustable weighting when they don’t strip out. Um was that you or is or did it seem a little way it stripped way too easy? It stripped too easy. Um Tour Edge Exotic cost driver same price like $299. Their their base model is $299. Oh, the exotic is $3.99. So for $50 more you can go into a studio and get fully fit. Let us know if you guys want us to put that up against the Tour Edge. That might be a good natural fit. Tour edge versus similar price point. We’ll start with the letter T. There we have it. There’s your Tacoma driver, folks. So, we could Sorry. Sorry so we couldn’t tell you more about it. Um, hopefully you enjoyed this video. I think it’s rock solid, but unlike their irons, no, even with their irons, there’s still alternatives. There’s less alternatives in that price point. I think in this 350 to 399 price point, it’s a much more crowded space for Tacoma than it is with their irons. The irons, they separate quite a bit. We’ll see you guys next time.
