Every two years, 24 of the best players from Europe and the United States go head-to-head in match play competition. The European Team are the reigning champions after winning at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in 2023. Drama, tension, incredible golf, camaraderie and sportsmanship are served in equal measure, captivating an audience of millions around the world. It’s an event that transcends sport, yet remains true to the spirit of its founder, Samuel Ryder. The 2025 Ryder Cup is set to take place at Bethpage Black in New York.

a calm head, amazing amount of experience, just doesn’t seem to get too flustered. Three winning teams. The only European player to ever go five in in a Ryder Cup. Franchesco Molinari has done it for Europe. Really excited to announce that Franchesco Molinari is going to be joining me again as one of my vice captains for New York. He was obviously a big part of the team back in Rome and uh to have him and his experience means a lot to me personally and uh he’ll be an amazing asset for the team. He’s just magnificent. If you ever wanted a game of golf, it would be his game. Franchesco Molinari obviously very happy, you know, something I was hoping hoping for having been part of of the group in in Rome. I think anytime you you get a chance to be a part of a Ryder Cup team, a RED Cup group, it’s an incredible opportunity. So, I’m really thankful. Rome was very special. Obviously, being Italian added to the joy of seeing the European team do so well. It was great fun to be part of the group, but it was to be honest a fairly easy group of players to to manage. Uh, everyone was pushing in the same direction, so that made it even more enjoyable. I couldn’t have been prouder to be their captain. Uh, this is just an an unbelievable feeling. Uh, we knew it wasn’t going to be easier after Whistling Straits, but uh, we came together and, uh, we won back the cup. That you did. That you did. Look, he’s a very smart switched on individual. He’s obviously been very successful. He’s an easy person really to work with and it’s great to be able to see firsthand how much he’s putting into being the captain. You know, he did the same two years ago and he’s doing it again now. He sort of leads by by example. So that passion trickles down to to the players. Two more years. Two more years. Two more years. Plenty of experience having played three Rally Cups, been on three winning teams. 2010 as a rookie playing with his brother Eduardo. Oh, this is fantastic. 2012 out number 12 in the singles against Tiger. Ended up getting the point that made us win outright. Europe have won the RER Cup. Unbelievable. What a day. What a what a day. And then what he did in 2018 who might never be eclipsed going 5-0. Francesco Molinari has done it for Europe. No one has ever won a major and all five matches in the RDER Cup. I love his demeanor. You know, it just doesn’t seem to get too flustered, doesn’t seem to get too high, too low. I think that’s going to be really important uh in a place like New York and on the Way Rider Cup. So, I love what he brings. is very excited that he’s a part of the team again. Everyone knows how how hard it is to win away from home. It’s going to be tough, you know, it’s going to be a difficult environment for the players to perform. A really tough challenge, but at the same time an unbelievable opportunity to make something really historical. The US have a really strong team and we’ll do our best as a group.
