[Music] it’s a new day baby there’s a new day we checked out of the hotel we’re about to get the let’s get the rental car and go get some food and get over the olympic club so recap of yesterday and last night we checked in the hotel okay this is actually really nice we thought the hotel was haunted this hotel legit feels haunted did that give you such a i’m getting killed dude that actually scared me bro like i’m not even kidding i have goosebumps right now let’s take a look at the room you hear that this feels haunted oh this looks nice yeah it looks nice but we got a view over here let’s see what this looks like dude look at your view all right well we’ll see right now see grant yeah yeah all right dude i hope he’s okay man yeah let me do it all right actually wait wait actually whatever sick whatever that was in the 50. we’re gonna see that tonight yeah we’ll do a couple of warm-up rounds so i was just asking joey if the strategy is to go for the hundreds up in the corner you want to go for the 40s and the 50s down the middle that’s kind of the ultimate strategy because if you missed 100 you’re guaranteeing yourself a 10. but if you’re going down the middle 40 and 50 it might jump up to the 50 or come back down to the 20 but you want to like maximize your chances right nine balls it’s a kid’s game so it’s low and you want to get your your stance right so here come on lather rinse repeat 100 [Music] we had some dinner we came back to the hotel we went to sleep we woke up now we’re checking out of the hotel actually we just checked out of the hotel we’re gonna go get some food and go to the olympic club we’re playing the us open course today we are playing the lake course today is going to be a treat this series already has been unreal we’re getting out of san francisco today after we play the olympic club so that will be next episode after we finish up with the olympic club it’ll be episode whatever that number is going down to monterey monterey is next poppy hills the hay potentially tiger woods is part of three course then after that santa barbara let’s get it we’re playing some tetris here we’re gonna try and organize this perfectly are you wearing that today yeah dang dude he’s dumb i want it we we’re in a rough kind of you’ll just keep playing the puzzle until it finally clicks because i didn’t like the way we had it and so we’re going to get it better here we had way more top space that we didn’t really utilize i think that’s the way you go see a little bit more room that right there could be the difference six inches sometimes guys even five inches could be the difference you guys know the drill it’s my third bite and then i’m gonna rate it i gotta say just first inspection of the burrito it’s very hard the tortilla so today a little overcooked on the burrito i’m sticking with the six today honestly we had a 10 which is all you really need you can’t have tens every time that’s the thing so i’m going with a six i’ll give it like a six yeah yesterday i will say it did taste really good this one had a 2.5 star yelp review that could be why you know serious deal guys we just posted a video with chase since the longest hitter in all of college golf we’re gonna do a little segment where we read some comments we reacted some comments man chase is a lady slayer we gotta respect i can respect that chase is a good looking he’s a good looking dude let’s be honest graham’s playing so much better than garrett it’s not even close what has happened to garrett’s game no shot tracer wtf man can’t watch sorry i think we should explain the process behind the tracers max is the one that does the trace for those of you who do not know who at it’s very full time for good good it’s a long process sometimes he doesn’t have enough time to get the tracers done and unfortunately for this video he could not get him done i’m sorry i really wish we could bring in traces every video we want to okay it’s not like right here we are day two at the olympic club what can two scratch golfers shoot on a u.s open course i was looking through i think it’s like four or five times they played the us open here it’s legit u.s open 1955 1966 1989 fifty five eighty seven twelve twenty twenty one i mean they have played some insane tournaments on this late course today’s gonna be intense all right before we go on with the quite the fourth swing yeah for me at least that’s the good miss though if you know you’re gonna miss it one way the entire day i feel you can eliminate the left side of the court mentally you’re gonna feel more confident over each tee shot i feel like every day i got to be working on something i do i’m the same way i have to have a swing thought i cannot if i don’t have a swing thought it’s it’s over for me right i’m screwed am i all the way over there i’m getting 215. i’m gonna hit the five iron here guys 215 into this par five oh wait i’m back what the that ain’t my drive man let me get back here come on ryder oh i don’t know if i have enough club now well hopefully this elevation helps me out because we got 240 now we’re in the fairway here it’s gonna be a good forum i’m playing for a little bit of roll out hopefully this will get there here we go off the toe i think it’s on the green i towed it a little bit i think we’re good though major championship time this is a major championship i cannot say championship i guess this is what can happen at a major course like that this is what can happen major championship course i got a bad lie nice thanks love a legend from there i need i just need to be in the fairway as long as that’s not in the rough we’re good see that’s pure strength that comes down to just being hit in the gym you know this right here is not going to be finished until probably the back nine yeah i just sipped on mine it hit me way too hard i’m like jittery the thing was we were kind of rushing through our tea time here we got a little caught up hitting some range balls and then we just had to run over to the tee so that got the heart rate going but i i think we’re rooting for each other today honestly after yesterday i want to play good look at the pin it’s on top of a little hill although grant can you give me yours brother yeah grant’s grant’s gonna get me yardage here 103. i know i don’t really have any room right we’re gonna just dial this in we got the 58 degree here get up okay i got scared of going right on that shot it’s honestly a safe play very safe play there on the first hole we did need the hybrid i towed that four iron maybe if i hit it flush i would have made it but i don’t think it was enough club we got a pretty easy little pitch shot here there it is grant sit wow that’s cool that’s cool that’s fun i know i know what i got into today and it’s gonna be a battle the greens look quite fast here got so caught up in hitting balls in the range that we forgot to and didn’t have time to hit any putts i’m kind of hitting and hoping here if i can hit a good putt here i’d be happy with the par for the tee shot oh pretty good speed there i’ll take that first part of the day okay guys right to left here i don’t see too much break beauty good verdi it’s a really good start that’s like the second birthday i’ve made all week nice pot gee that’s a good start i mean after where his drive was in that stuff it was questionable if he even got it out of there it was that deep so okay we’re going back here this right here is the kind of stuff that you got to think about when playing the course today because if you go long and you’re in this it’s like you’re not gonna really get out you’ll be lucky to even chop it out or find it you gotta keep that in the back of the mind today [Music] straightaway par four driver in hand there you go it’s going to draw back nice shot bomb there you go garrett thank you you guys are going to shoot better on this course i feel like then we’ll see i’m if i can die honestly if i can dial in my swing i’m feeling a little bit better with the putter i can already i’m sensing that vibe right now it’s been one whole rider’s already hyping us up yep should kick left no oh no okay i thought that was going to draw it stayed out in that rough a little bit that’s the difference sometimes it’s crazy because joey he’s number one and skee-ball the guy we’re playing with today and me and ryan were just talking about like when you’re a kid it’s good to play like a ton of different sports if you’re a golfer play basketball play all the different sports to keep the athletic movements if you don’t you’ll end up like me a golfer that literally can’t catch a ball i’m just kidding i’m kidding catch oh we’re on the range some guys came up to us they watch our content they they’re talking to us for a little bit so you know they like the videos one not then at the end they’re like oh and by the way if you’re four over in the first six holes on this course that’s pretty solid it’s never what you like to hear but grant’s currently one under i’m currently even so we’ll see we can’t can’t listen to that right now we just gotta go out it’s just a golf course who’s who you gotta hit the shot i would assume that’s you dude go back go back that is bad dude ryder just took someone’s car rider rider river dinara he just accidentally took those guy’s car hopefully he can just put it back and act like nothing happened he’s trying to do it right now i feel like he’s just gonna do it right now and nothing’s gonna happen yeah he’s doing it we’re good this is what can happen i want to explain this garrett’s got a really nice flat lie here i’m currently on the side of a hill so this is what they were talking about yesterday if you’re not in the flat part of the fairway you can be like this so it’s just what can happen out here 160 so you probably got 158. oh get up get up i think that’s just going to be short it carried the bunker but it might have rolled back i’m not sure if it carried the bunker how far do you have 160. that was playing a lot farther guys i was playing a lot farther it comes out so low or at least it looks like it comes out so low because you’re so uphill hit your full nine yeah that’s what i got absolute full okay oh he played the hook and this is looking really good oh did it carry it just landed next to the pen oh my god but i don’t it’s a roll it rolled a ton after it landed but i think it landed close from ryder’s view dude this is such a cool course so far it is yesterday was awesome but this is like more you can tell it’s more of a player’s core the undulation everything about this is it’s pretty nuts a bit short i’m happy i’m putting i thought it was going to be in the rough a little lucky here got to take advantage of this break i got scared of it i was i was running everything by yesterday so i’m kind of i’m a little tentative today okay i’m gonna play it pretty straight then we thought this went left to right this actually just went left so now i’m just gonna play it at the hole [Applause] i cannot believe that goes left nothing’s good baby nothing’s good this is the beauty of a course but let me tell you it is it’s hard okay well i made that putt uh ryder was not recording unfortunately but it was two feet i made it i knocked it in the right side all right here we are on to the third hole of the day i’m even grant is currently one under par which is quite the start out here these starting holes are quite tough oh my god this is one of those part threes that it’s a par four realistically this is more of a par four it’s downwind too so it’s it’s 235 all right grant’s first what do you think it’s playing it’s 235 it just looks so downhill and it runs away everywhere like you basically it looks like you have about a 15 foot landing zone on this hole yeah i’d rather be a little short i feel like i’d rather be a little short see no it’s fading i mean that is a good shot that’s okay that’s a good man i have a seven iron i thought that was actually plenty of club it’s falling out of the sky too yeah yeah it’s the thing is right now there’s clouds there’s like heavy clouds and moisture in the air and i don’t think the ball is going far yeah i played it like it was 200 or even 190 definitely not the right idea there this right here is where it’s tricky because i don’t know how much it’s going to release it’s our first chip shot of the day into the grain then it’s downgraded into the hill downhill then uphill then downhill oh yeah oh yeah good shot i i gotta say that’s pretty lucky because i had no clue how that was gonna react and thankfully it reacted i wanted it to that was good that was really a solid shot what’d you hit there gee 54. yeah i got a 56. oh no chips have not been too good i need to start practicing there’s no way i left it short i can’t believe that nice pot g thanks those are tricky these putts are grainy today i can feel it it’s almost like the grain just kind of grabs your [Music] dude this is nuts i don’t even like yeah it’s pretty straightforward right you just completely explained it and i still have no clue what i’m looking at but we’re gonna go with it let’s need a big pot that good sometimes that skirts through don’t like that i hit it good i actually hit it really good i was hoping for a little bit of wind fade but i think i hit a little bit of a draw unfortunately so i’m gonna go for the smarter target by just a hair i’m gonna go for the smarter shot here dude this is nuts is that too far right oh that might catch drop a little too far right but that’s okay here we are guys i’m curious to see what my ball looks like i hammered it and i hit it dead straight i just hit it straight left maybe we got something maybe we don’t i did not know this is what it looked like i don’t want to get ahead of myself but i think we’re going to see one up in the rough all right guys i’ll take this this was it was a mis-hit hybrid it wasn’t a very well struck hybrid but i feel like it was a smart play gonna hit a full six iron here 200 yards i can’t do it much better ryder i i feel like it’s short though i really do it wasn’t too far left and this is very thin stuff so we should be able to find it realistically callaway yeah that was so close to being so good if it kicked through this rock i mean that’s that’s kind of unlucky i can’t even lie that’s terrible i basically i gotta chip out take my medicine here can’t get aggressive nice no no not nice grant not nice grant not nice i was surprised it came out that hot i just wanted to make sure to get it past these trees i didn’t want to get caught up in this rough but hit it a little too hard all right here we go to get up and down four par see if we can do it he’s lucky he stayed just left to this tree so he’s got a clear shot oh that was good oh oh two that looks so good from this angle that looks nice oh it’s nice great shot g okay here we go oh it’s all there good bar yeah that’s just it’s crazy like that five iron was short and then this was short i’m kind of confused solid par i mean that was not necessarily the easiest up and down i was way short so i’ll take that we’re still leaving park no good pot dude that is crazy how far that his first part rolled by he’s got to be really respectful of these greens and i tend to hit mine a little harder so got a little lucky there kind of slipped that one coming back in the right right lip there ended up in the bottom of the cup it’s an unfortunate bogey but i will take it honestly after the tee shot it is what it is [Music] on to our fifth hole here is currently he’s cruising at even part let’s see if he can keep him going he’s got a driver in his hand take it over that right side right yeah i’m gonna try and cut this yeah i like it i hit cuts now gee is that too far i didn’t know i could actually reach that when i hit it i was like there’s no way that trees even you have to actually cut it around there that was a dead straight ball flight but man i could not cannot really hit it much better it’s fine i’ll take it he went far enough through it let’s see what we’re looking at i like that swing bray and i are both fine grain is just left of the fairway i’m quite a bit left the fairway but this is where you should miss it looks like dude this is like okay that is some bull crap because look this was just cut that has not been cut yet i’m in the thick stuff if you guys can see the mower line going right there garrett’s in this nice thin stuff is it a pitching wedge from 165 do you think it’s gonna get there pitching wedge yeah it’s not going far today i’m sorry i think a nine you’re going to be perfectly fine i’m scared of the flyer i’m scared of the flyer you want to step on a pitching wedge i think you you’ll never go along with a pitching weapon no absolutely not oh that flew that flew so long dang it dang it dang it now now it’s probably a little more scary huh yeah i got 160. i’m still just gonna hit a nice nine i’m just not going to swing hard because garrett swung pretty hard at that and that’s what can happen if you get a lot of clubhead speed it can jump so i’m just gonna swing easy i should have honestly swung probably pretty normal i don’t know what i was thinking i’m just gonna swing at a nine i’ll try and land about 155 that’s my yardage right now 155. it’s still flew but it’s it might work out for him no watch that see that yeah i wasn’t sure but i was scared you guys heard me talking about i was like oh pitching wedge or not honestly what’s crazy is 165 i should have swung normal and i’m pitching how aggressive these flyers are now we’re screwed no well great i think you’re down over the hill garrett i know mine was uh you’re down halfway to the next hole mine was like 40 yards long it wasn’t even just a little long look how little these greens are too what did the guys say in the clubhouse again we said in the beginning they said if you’re like four over through the first six seven or six is that a good score holy crap bro okay i’m sitting up dude this is uh this is brutal got a little bit of mud on my ball that’s also probably part of the reason it flew because at a mud ball okay i took a full swing flop for the most part at least they’ve got to barely get this on the grain you got to land it here huh really i do no i think i can just try and just land it on ryder oh dude scent this is crazy i know what the guys feel in majors now just gotta go i’m scared to get into the hole today that was it that was a good stroke i just didn’t trust that much break [Music] well here we are 448 458 yards 450 this course is no joke you’re two over on one over let’s bring it back let’s get let’s get hot let’s get some energy see it come on i want to see you get hot that’s nice thank you [Applause] here we go here we go there’s the fairway i love the fairway i like the fairway it’s a cool place i guess it’s just a really interesting place okay that was cool that is launched dude that is so far past me that like waved on my ball as it landed next to my ball it just went like it was like saying goodbye to it that one was hit well i got this weird fall through going today but i’m not minding it those are two great drives here we finally hit the fairway now let’s attack let’s get back we’re not gonna let what happened on our first series kind of well you know what’s crazy is we’re like one over two over whatever it doesn’t feel bad we’re over par i mean this course is hard so we’re gonna see what we can keep doing it would be awesome if somehow we could shoot under par out of us all right here we go 158 guys i’m gonna hit a full nine iron are we filling a birdie from grant i feel like all right nice little roger’s like sure here we go i gotta play a little bit of a hook got a hook lie here it hooked all right dude ah that was a good swing man i like that sling all right 138 i’m gonna play it about 135 i think it’s a little down a little downhill downwind got the 50 degree let’s make a birdie come on oh it does oh oh after seeing grants i should have known i should have known that it’s gonna draw so much off that line but poor mistake poor mistake grant said we’re screwed and as soon as i hit that shot over here i i knew it this sucks this is bad all right good luck let me go first go ahead yeah i don’t want to stand by your ball i think that’s probably dude i don’t know what we’re just gonna have to swing hard and get some spin i have a better chance putting this one out honestly oh oh i had it too stopper jumper you had an upslope too and a good lie i had it i just pulled it i pulled in it was too far oh that was it too it’s just too hard to get no i’m taking that ten times out of ten i’m very happy with that just experience what like the pros experience in the us opens really really awesome it puts it into perspective how good they are all this whole drivable uh this is our seventh hole 284 it looks like it’s still probably a daunting daunting green up there we need to bounce back we both need to rip off some birdies all right grant you’re gonna have to no i gotta hit this thing off the screws to get it there i think you can oh when he hit it good oh that’s money like that was kind of just like a low cut i honestly knew i couldn’t get it all the way there because it’s uphill into the wind but we got a nice little look now i think garrett can carry it he can carry it a lot farther than me so he’ll have a chance to get to the front oh dude what a shot come right oh it’s on the green go in oh my gosh it did not go in but he was still filming for a long period dude that was so cool though that was like a low cut slice it’s just like a low state something about oh man that would have been so cool if that if ryder would have yelled i would have said i’m done with no i would walk off the course at that point you’re done quit i don’t know how you do it man i really don’t that was just free it was into the wind and i was like i need to keep this under the wind and roll it up there and oh my gosh that one got the heartbeat i don’t even know where it’s at it could be like 20 30 40 it doesn’t matter but i i know it was close to going in i i can feel it i don’t know why he kept recording it rolled up there like a putt like a little you hit like a low bullet dude that was just crazy two feet stop dude it’s two feet away stop stop oh my god i’m shaking right now because i was looking at you i’m like oh yeah my gosh what on earth rider dude the shot i got was so sick too you could see it like again same thing you could see it through the air you can see the whole way yeah and then it just rolled up perfectly i bet you’re just like you’re like no way there’s no all right we gotta film great wait should i go for the back slope here gee i hope i don’t hit your tee brother you shouldn’t it’ll help if it does that’s pretty good just need a little more on it dang it i pulled it just a little bit and i saw it like it was cutting and i thought i was going to keep cutting i wouldn’t have known what to do i might have been speechless i don’t think words would have been able to come out of my mouth and tell you anything same thing with me like i would just i would have stopped there if you said it went in i would have just stopped there and just just no way no reaction you can’t react here we go guys i got a lot of break on this one actually kind of a tough putt i left myself with thought he made it it stayed in it that stayed in the tree that stayed in it was right there it’s somewhere up in there did you feel that i zoomed but i never i didn’t see it go look dude what the heck all right i’m climbing the tree that is a fun couple holes right there i mean so i heard this if i take it unplayable and i go underneath it or what i don’t think that one’s rattling too much there ain’t much rattling going on it’s in a bird’s nest i hit it like a lower one right into the tree and it stayed up there what a series of holes here for me it’s over it oh yeah oh yeah yeah good shot thank you we can’t say this any interesting content this is some i mean leave a like for that almost uh holding one on a part four and then you hit it up in a tree well and then i i two popped for birdie from two feet then i hit it into a tree i was i was like waiting for it i was like where’s it gonna come down where’s it going where’s it going and it uh it stayed up there so technically i think you can take where it crossed or where it’s at through the pin and it’s back as far as you want so i think you’re gonna drop under the tree i’m gonna go out there drop you go up to the green i’ll go film you [Music] okay here we go guys let’s try and get good speed here on this first one oh i’ll take that all day that was about a 60-foot putt there 70. i think we got these guys that is a all-around solid bogey i’ll take that there’s a lot that just happened in the last two holes but after it’s all said and done i’m currently still two over par i was a solid par and garrett is three over so i’m going to make some birdies coming in those couple lip outs i had i understand what i’m doing [Music] i need to take a breather you guys can probably hear how deep i’m breathing the group was kind of like coming up behind us and i literally have to go out and drop 115 out so i’m like hey bogey we’ll take it nine i’m gonna try and hit a cut here it sets up for a cut series the one thing about this course is it forces you to hit shot it really does it’s a shot shapers course that’s so good it’s beautiful oh bounce back into the fairway a little spinny we’ll take it middle of the fairway like that little fall through you got going on you’re on top of it you’re squeezing it right here i’m a little steep right now swing’s definitely a little off but sometimes you just got to play what you got and go from there we’re gonna slow down we’re gonna close down let’s regather we should both be like even right now at a two footer for eagle i feel like we both are swinging good right now there’s potential we just gotta calm down dial it in my goal setting out was to have a good time and i gotta fully tell you guys i don’t think it matters what i shoot today i’m genuinely having a good like i hit it in the tree and i was laughing obviously it was a bad break but it’s hilarious is she right here yeah this is me he got me i i hit that low on the face good job thank you i feel like you gotta launch it here 144 138 138 actual yeah i got to hit a 50 degree i have 138 but i know this is playing short because it’s downwind i’m gonna go at these right bunkers try and draw it in there oh just short of it no look at it stop ball stop i thought that was about to roll off the green we got like 138 to the pin i made it a full pitching wedge i know if i hit this full it’ll just go past it a little bit i gotta hook it again i’ve had i’ve had hook lies like every hole gotta play a little bit of a draw oh boy it’s turning over too much that’s interesting hey that’s what they were saying with this course too that the side hill eyes they’ll get you and that they’re certainly getting me right now i don’t know why i feel like one’s going in today from someone we’ve had a lot of a lot of a lot of shots right at the pen so i say that every time a lot of left to right let’s let’s drain a putt today did he do it they’ll come they’ll come i’m gonna be patient i’ve lifted out twice that’s just because of bad speed in the heart just short okay ah yeah that’s nine oh wow so we shot two over and three over yeah two over and three over major champion we can take it under par on the back for sure [Music] we had some good opportunities on the front unfortunately we didn’t really convert yeah it was a lot of fun that is episode three of our long drive series next location after olympic club the championship course here where they’ve played the u.s open i believe five times our next course is gonna be poppy hills down in monterey which is a two hour drive from here after we finish it
