I attempt real life MTB challenges at the helfarm before trying to beat Matt Jones at the Mavrix game to celebrate the fact I will be a playable character in the new MAVRIX MTB game!

I head over to Matt Jones house to ride bikes and go head to head in the virtual world of Mavrix a new game designed by Matt jones himself. The whole video is also to announce that I will be a playable character in the game and it’s up to you guys to decide which bike I should be riding in the game!

We start off with my first session on the game before heading to the pitbike track to try and break some records on my Surron Lightbee. After this its time to hit the indoor skatepark and see if we can land some tricks. But the real excitement happens when we go head to head on the game with Rob Warner commentating to add to the excitement, but who will win?

I’ve got an insane announcement. I’m gonna be a playable character on Matt Jones’s Maverick’s game. So many of you asked for it. You wanted Sam Pilgrim to be a playable character in Mavericks and it’s happening. We’re only two weeks from launch. So Sam’s come to the Hell Farm today to play the video game and react to his first time sessioning. We’re also going to be doing some real life bike challenges around the Hell Farm. So let’s get into the action. Wait. No. Coming into the command center where I’m about to play the game for the first time. I’ve had a few little words of what buttons to press, but I don’t exactly know what’s going on. But basically, let’s go. Pedaling. We’re going to drop in here on what’s this one called? Waterfall’s Edge. Waterfall’s Edge. Okay, we’re in. It’s going to be pretty mad watching a pro rider play it just like oh my god I’m sending the stuff you want to do. Here we go. Okay. Oh my goodness. He’s found the scrub. Right. We got this bunny hot but I’ve doubled it. Nice. Cleared that. Right. We’re going to sort of This is sick. Keep it on the track. When you discover this trail, it becomes a proper track that you can see on the map and everything. This is unbelievable. Look. Graphics are insane, aren’t they? Okay, let’s just try and like do a normal bit of a whip there. Right next to the edge. Oh, huge bunny. I’m so close to the edge. We’re fine tuning the bunny at the minute. People don’t What way? What way? Uh, straight over. Yeah, go full speed cuz it’s a massive step down. Oh, massive. Oh, he pulled it. You’re never going to land that. 180. Oh, I landed it. Beat that. Right, that’s a set for the game. I’ve sort of forgotten. I can do double lean kind of. Yeah. Right stick’s kind of like drift. And if you hold that sideways bit on the whip longer, you’ll do a bigger whip. Okay. Nice. You want to break for this step down. It’s completely heavy. That’s quite cool. You actually have to do breaking and stuff. Hey, should we add a doomer when we add you as a character? Please don’t deep. Oh dear. Oh, we’ve bugged that out. Do you know how you can like break down? So, the two things we’re changing at the minute, which is sick, is making it that you crash more. Yeah. Cuz you shouldn’t be able to send it 200 foot off cliffs and that you can’t like kill flick rotation so much. Okay. In real life, you can slow them down and speed them up, can’t you? Yeah. I like that you actually have to break the stuff. Like, you discover this track now. Oh my god. Do another one. Oh, new one. Free ride. This is literally I’m just bad at You love bunny hops. It’s like the Dave Mirror era of gaming, isn’t it? Um, down here is a hell farm as we’re at the hell farm. So, I hop that. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Then on the last jump, if you pull back and roll it left or right, hold it early. So, like hold it to the side. Okay. Oh, yeah. Big old side. Hefty one. So, then what is this? The hell farm? Is it? Yeah. So, this is like a skinny there. Look, I go to the right. Oh, immediately went left. Can you see those orange flags on the left? Right. Head to them and if you go through them, it will trigger the start of you attempting this tech challenge, which I just need to get prepared a second. Wait, just got to track stand a bit. All this stuff, these tech challenges are deliberately challenging. So, I like never known someone to do it all first go. All right, I’m up. Never seen someone go all the way over. Then around here. Yeah. And then go slow. There you go. Right. You want to just break as soon as you land up here. And that’s to the right. Can you see that board? Oh my god. Tech. This is sick. This is proper trials. Yeah. So, the first time you went straight on, you got the hang of the brakes. The bunny hop. No. Back to the start. Do you want to actually show us that it’s possible? This is going to be fun. Yeah, I’ll show you. Immediately not get through it. Look at this. Trials maneuvers. The world’s sick, isn’t it? Like, there’s so much of this to explore. Right, here we go. Sprint boost. Oh, I don’t get there. Right. Yo, is that it? Oh, sick. Reward 150 m. Go and buy a jersey. Oh, right. You get money for that. Oh, cool. And look, cuz I’ve completed the hell farm. If I go on the map, now I’ve done it. See that? That’s now a fast travel point. So, at any moment, you can come back here. Oh, cool. Oh, well, good. Right. Do you want to do something else or should we go outside and do some challenges and come back and do a You need to do a race at some point and try and beat one of my lap times. Right. First challenge, Sam. Here’s a start line. Set a lap on my backyard pit bike track. We’ve had the likes of Tommy Cell, Billy Bolt, Eddie Carlson flew here to smash the record. Wow. On a start, but we’ve never had a sir on. Yes, it’s sir on a clock. Are you ready then? It literally finishes when you come around that flat corner and across here. Yeah. Okay. 3 2 1 go. Heat. Heat. Oh my god, that is unbelievable. What is it? A 39 97. Oh yeah. So, no one’s ever been under 40 seconds on not a Stark or a 350 motocross bike. He beat Tommy S on a motorbike on that. Easy. First challenge complete. Then, should we do a little follow with the boys while we’re here? Racing. Cool. Yes. Uh-oh. Scary. Wet. [Music] We just finished that lap time and having fun on the pit bike track. Let’s find out where I got third place. So that’s Eddie Carlson, pro rider, Billy Bolt, like world champion, and then Sam Pilgrim. I actually like it here. That would look funnier, wouldn’t it? Go to Billy B. That’s Look miles faster than these guys. Look at you down here. Look, you It’s your track. You need Yeah, I’m humble. You need to do some pract Yeah. Right. I see you. You had a flatty, didn’t you? This is honestly the sickest thing anyone could ever have in their garden at a skate park. So because of that, it’s the flare challenge. Disc pipe flare. I reckon we’ll both do it first. Go. Rock, paper, scissors. Oh, you win. Right. Uh, so you’re first then. Wow. Heavy though. No, that was sick. That was a big one. That was Well, that was a tall flare. I like that. Thank you. Right. Right. [Music] Nice. There we go. Then let’s do a team one. 3 2 1 go. [Music] Nice. That was perfect. Perfect execution. Right. For those of you that think Mavericks isn’t real, look, this is me being that game, you don’t need to put your feet down, do you? And we’re back in the game. Back in Mavericks. That glitch from real life to here has made us This is a race then, is it? I’m going to absolutely smash you. Put these on so you can hear Warner. Oh, yeah. Yeah. That’s going to make me way more stoked. Look how gamer I am. I’ve even got a ready go. Here we go. I’m about to smash the time. Rob Warner in my ears. Left your phone around this bird. Just rail it. It’s actually definitely the easiest race track. The times get so tight. So sick. They’re good. Carrying great pace through this turn. Let’s try and ste a bit. Oh my god. Look at it. Do you know what I’m really happy about? That the loop’s not running. I knew you were going to say that. Sam’s obviously gutted that the loop the loop’s not running cuz he was desperate. That’s what I was like hoping to do today. So Oh, you need that in the game though. Yeah, it’s coming. Yeah, massive one. Like over a village. Definitely. That’s really good. Mavericks is still in development, but we’re launching on the 24th of July. go and wish list it on Steam and then all of us are going to be going to be playing it together.
