  3. I question how accurate these estimates of old home runs are. I would almost bet that the longest home run ever hit had to have been hit by Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, or maybe Aaron Judge.

  4. 12 year old me saw Jackson's massive shot from the UD in LF. It actually hit the light-tower on the roof in RCF. The crowd was stunned at 1st and then erupted in applause. The ball waa flying out that evening: Aaron, Bench, Robinson, Killibrew, AND, my hero of heroes- the immortal Clemente: 460 to UD in RCF. Ruth's crush-job would have been hit in the vicinity of Jackson's, only there was no upper-deck, at what was then Navin Field, to stop it from smashing into the facade of the lumber yard across the street from that (legendary) ballpark. God bless America.
