been a long home stand but three consecutive delays in this series but the good news is more good news reds have a chance to win this series and also a chance to change the entire tone of this home stand this game today has the potential to make this home stand look a lot better if the Reds can get a win some of the biggest moments of last year that’s when Nick Martinez was dominant the last couple of months of the campaign he’s coming off his best two starts of this year he was strong with belief in his defense against St louis his last time out cj Abrams one for four career against him with a home run first pitch rolled to Matt McClean there’s a tone center routine ground ball out ahmed Rosario’s in the box and Rosario hits this one on one hop back up the middle fielded behind the bag by the second baseman mlan his throw to first in time to get Rosario james Wood hitting 273 eight doubles end of the day tied for second in the National League and sixth in the majors with nine home runs he’s driven in 21 right to Matt Mlan initial bobble but he stays with it that’s a 10 pitch one two three first inning mckenzie Gore is 10th in the league in innings but he’s only three short of Zack Wheeler for the league lead and of course he leads everybody in the strikeouts mlan trying to slow things down he’s a struggling hitter does have hits in four of his last six games but only four hits sharply sent off the glove of a diving Rosario matt Mlan trying to get back on track and that’s a good sign there’s a lead off hit that’s a great sign right there another three hit day yesterday including a bunt hit he’s nine for his last 15 over the last four games mlan goes good jump and the pitch rolled to short diving smother play is at first and there’s no play fumbled by Abrams there’s another infield hit two men on so runners at first and second base here’s Ellie de la Cruz it’s bounced to Rosario hits the bag throw to first not in time they force out Mlan twoon one out marte again filling in in that cleanup spot this would usually be Austin Hayes the Reds hopeful Hayes might be able to come back as he’s eligible on the coming road trip bounce to Rosario goes to second up the line a bit safe now spencer Steer comes to the plate with men in the corners he kicks and he fires and a swing and a miss he struck him out on a curveball good job by McKenzie Gore his first strikeout ends the inning poor Nathaniel Low behind Tay Oscar and Nico for the most hits with runners in scoring position national League two last night resulting in two runs batted in well if he hits one with any kind of pace it’ll be a double ah he’s going to go the other way and fool all of us that’s a rocket to the right field wall nathaniel Low is four for 10 in this series that’s his seventh double of the year to go with six home runs and that man is locked in at the end of this road trip 0 for three with a walk here on Friday and I’m sure Kar Ruiz and his body were very fortunate to have a long day off yesterday kar 375 with runners in scoring position add another click that ball hit so hard it got to the right fielder in a hurry couple of great pull swings by the Nats here so right after McKenzie Gore gets out of a big jam the Nats come up and create one for the Reds and Louis do 0 for nine one RBI on a sack fly in this series that was his first time up Friday night skies this one to center that is plenty deep to score Nathaniel Low kar’s going to tag just in case it’s a bad throw one- nothing Washington on Garcia’s 11th run batted in alex Call in the number seven spot great change up from Martinez his first strike out tonight dylan Cruz swing and a miss struck him out slider down and in cruz swings right over the top back-to-back strikeouts for Nick Martinez to close out the second tyler Stevenson leads it off careerhigh 19 home runs last year a breakout offensive season stevenson lifts this ball to left a race back for Call and that’s going to go tyler Stevenson ties it tyler Stevenson with his first home run of the year with their bedrock back stop injured the backup catchers produced incredibly well offensively but Tyler Stevenson is one of the elite offensive catchers in the game three up and three down a nifty inning for the right-hander Nick Martinez three up three down here in the third so Gore has a couple of strikeouts given five Ks through three innings as Vananiel Low rifled one down the right field line his first time up swing and miss outstanding change up make it four strikeouts for Nick Martinez this has been the pitch to get the swings and misses little bit of movement down and away from that left-handed hitter cert Ruiz has singled over first the one-1 has popped into the air out behind the left side of the infield there’s Ellie and there’s Marte it’ll be Marte to make the catch and the Boy those two are funny now they are funny so that’s strikeout number six for Gore put out two to three in Gore since giving up the home run has retired seven in a row five via the strikeout so he’s settled into a nice groove spencer Steer struck out in the first inning off the mound Abrams on the spin off line another infield hit for the Reds he’s the first Red to reach since Tyler Stevenson began the second and McKenzie not very close with some of those first walk of the day and it takes him until his 45th inning of the year to walk his 10th bat against 65 strikeouts here’s Gavin Lux gore put him down on three pitches well that’s nasty number seven lux twice and Lux strikes out on three pitches gore trying to strand a couple keep this game tied and the batter is the catcher Jose Trevinho line drive on couple of hops to short bhanded by Abrams throws to second garcia makes the catch running through the bag in time for the out so Abrams able to lead Garcia to the base and Gore strands two so the Reds do get their leadoff man aboard here in the fifth inning now the key is you have to figure out a way to move done there’s Matt Mlan oh that’s going to be an out at second base ball got away from Kar Ruiz Blake Dunn a late break and Desi in this series kar and Riley Adams have really helped control the Cincinnati running game and McKenzie struggling a bit with some long counts here in the fifth inning he came into this frame at 67 pitches and it is mounting and that’s similar to the one he missed with against Blake Dunn two walks in a row and now he’s walked three of the last five hitters santiago Espanol the right fielder today reached on an infield hit to short of the first inning clay goes good jump pitch miss down throw down is late now six for six trying to steal this year there’s the hook and it comes down for a strike what a time for number eight two down here in the fifth so now Dea Cruz will hit down the left field line fair ball a line drive missile from LA de La Cruz the de la Cruz never dropped the bat he was nearly a top first still staring at McKenzie Goriz going immediately to crew chief and home plate man James Oy insisting the ball was fouled david Cruz seemed to doubt it heavily but as it stands the call on the field is 3-1 Reds the umpires now huddle up the Reds dug out certainly thought it was foul everyone surprised down here foul ball has been called so crew chief review you see that ball there looks to be on the left side you don’t lose sight of it against that yellow pole after review confirmed foul ball they’re going to do it over again and he walked him and fell down he collapsed after releasing that pitch way in and it looks like he’s all right and will resume playing parte shoots up the steps got him with a big hook downstairs struck him out on a curveball on Gor’s 100th pitch of the afternoon that’s his ninth strike out of the game sixks from Martinez here’s James Wood with two down change up driven down the left field line deep toward the corner it’s way back there and this one will be one hop off the fence at the 328 mark throwing it towards second the left fielder Lux wood slides in safely doesn’t overlide the bag he’s got a double and James Wood delivers his ninth double and the Nationals have the go-ahead run in scoring position swung on and it’s hit a mile high into short right field mlan is out but it’s Espanol in from right to make the catch and end the inning so one down on hard contact here in the seventh inning it’s Garcia garcia see you way later back of the bullpen finance on top on Louis third of the year here I am right on time boys late in the game sorry I’ve been taking a little break this series but we’re going to have a happy flight so now runners at second and third so now a hit could mean two but Abrams in a in trouble here down 0 and two against the tough lefty and contact accomplished cj is going to drive in two the ball into the gap in left center he is in there with a double and the Nats have busted it open a bit here with a three-run seventh inning to lead 4-1 and so the four and five hitters create a two-on no out situation here in the eighth barlo has struck out Garcia both times they faced each other career spins that one in for strike three and Barlo has the second out with a strike out so now Alex Call will bat base is loaded two outs for Dylan Cruz cruz swings into a lazy fly right center field there is Blake Dunn and Espenol’s over from right it’ll actually be Espanol in right center to make the catch side retired and the inning is over final hope for the Reds will be their catcher Jose Trovinho trovinho first time ever against Finnegan swing and a miss it’s the last pitch of the series and the Nets come back to win two out of three in Cincinnati

  1. Mackenzie Gore has really shown his ability to be a top tier ace for the Nats. Dude is always collecting a ton of Ks the defense prob gets bored lol

  2. Still can't win games at home against sub-.500 teams. 3-4 on the home stand with 3 blowout losses after going 6-3 on the previous road trip.Been a trend for the last several years.A recipe for not making the playoffs.

  3. The ball tipped the pole. you can see the ball make contact with the poll and change its trajectory.
Elly got robbed and that pitcher should send the ump some thank you flowers.

  4. Jt should have caught the ball out in front of home plate 10th inning on that throw from Schwarber, also herrera had way too many passed balls
