The oldest of Donald Trump’s 10 grandchildren, 17-year-old Kai Trump made her first major political appearance when she took to the stage at the Republican National Convention on July 17.

“I’m speaking today to share a side of my grandpa that people don’t often see,” she said, addressing thousands of cheering Republican Party delegates on the third night of the event at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Kai went on to address the shooting and attempted assassination of Donald at the outdoor rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. Describing the incident as “heartbreaking”, she told the crowd that “a lot of people have put my grandpa through hell and he’s still standing”.

“The media makes my grandpa seem like a different person, but I know him for who he is. He’s very caring and loving,” Kai continued as her grandpa looked on: “He truly wants the best for this country and he will fight every single day to make America great again.”

Donald Jr and his then-wife Vanessa welcomed their first child and eldest daughter Kai in May 2007, just two years after tying the knot. She is the oldest of the former couple’s five children. Vanessa filed for divorce in March 2018 and the pair split up after nearly 13 years of marriage.
Soon after his and Vanessa’s split, Donald Jr began dating Kimberly Guilfoyle, his current fiancée and former Fox News presenter.
