Tiger Woods’ ex coach defends the 15x major champ with a three word response to a complaining fan

Tiger Woods enjoyed a fruitful coaching relationship with Hank Haney in the past. Off the course, Haney stays quite active on social media, frequently posting golf related content on his ex account, formerly known as Twitter. Earlier this week, Nuclear Golf posted a clip from a 2023 Tailor Made video showing Tiger Woods and current world number one Scotty Sheffller discussing swing techniques. “When I’m flushing it, I don’t take divots. It just is what it is,” Woods remarked in the video. Haney reposted the clip on X with a brief comment. He flushed it a lot. One fan responded in the comments, pointing out, “Yes, but Tiger took some crater divots back in the day.” Haney then answered the fan with a simple three-word reply. Woods has been absent from competitive golf lately, having not played on the PGA Tour since the Open Championship in July 2024. With the 2025 edition of The Major Just Ahead, fans are eagerly awaiting his return. His absence follows surgery earlier this year, from which he is still recovering. Hank Haney also weighs in on Lucas Glover’s stance regarding live golf players. Ahead of the 2025 John Deere Classic, PGA Tour professional Lucas Glover discussed live golf players during an interview with SiriusXM. Speaking candidly, he shared his reluctance to compete alongside them. “I don’t want to play with them. Me personally,” Glover said as quoted by Nuclear Golf on X. “I don’t think they should be back here. I don’t want them here. They made their decision. I don’t blame them, but they chose to leave this tour.” Glover continued, emphasizing his long-standing commitment to the PGA Tour. As someone who dreamed of playing on the PGA tour and has dedicated 21 seasons to it, I don’t want someone who deliberately walked away. In response, Hank Haney reshared the post on X, adding his perspective. Of course, he feels that way. Why in the world would he feel any other way? It’s worth noting that live golf players remain banned from competing in PGA Tour events. However, the landscape continues to shift. Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan previously announced a framework agreement aimed at unifying the PGA Tour and Live Golf, though formal negotiations are still ongoing.
