Are You Making This Golf Mistake?

Avoid common chipping mistakes by understanding loft. Many amateurs use a 60-degree wedge too often, when a simple golf tip is to use an 8-iron for short shots. This video highlights a better short game approach to improve your consistency around the green.

  1. I ditched my 60 last year it was just collecting dust in the bag. I have been using my eight for chipping in close to the green as it gives you much better control. I changed my stance to one of your recent tips wih great success.

  2. And even less can go wrong with a putter im a .4 and I use my 60 around the green 99% of the time I have no problem hitting a bump and run with that but my wedges are definitely my strength but if im a double digit handicapper and im that close to the green on the collar or fringe im still going to putt that the majority of the time unless there is some kind of blemish or mark that’s going to affect my line. If you struggle with chipping in general you should putt this when you’re out on the course next time and have a shot like this try a bump and run with an 8 iron then try to putt it I guarantee 8/10 times or more the putt will get you closer to the hole I do it with my friends all the time after they hit a poor chip I’ll tell them to stay their toss them a ball tell them to putt it and it’s like a light bulb goes off. Of course none of this applies if you’re in the rough then you need loft
