World No.1 enjoying a sensational year as he plots Renaissance triumphScottie Scheffler of the United States walks on the 17th green during the final round of the Travelers Championship

Superstar Scottie Scheffler arrives into Scotland as golf’s $15 million man.

The World No.1 is at The Renaissance Club aiming to maintain his magnificent 2025 form and add another title to his CV ahead of the Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

Scheffler’s numbers for the first half of the year have cemented his spot at the game’s leading player with a third Major added to his collection at The PGA Championship.

On top of the big win at Quail Hollow, he also bagged Top 10 finishes in the other two Majors at The Masters and The US Open as the potential-epic at Portrush awaits.

Scheffler has also won at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson and Memorial tournaments and posted six more Top 10s outside of the Majors with last start seeing him end the week at tied-sixth in the Travelers Championship.

The American icon’s win at Muirfield Village made him the first man to successfully defend that title since Tiger Woods in 2001.

As well as the titles and the ranking points which also made him the first player to automatically qualify to the United States team for September’s Ryder Cup at Bethpage, the 29-year-old has amassed a staggering bank of prize money through the season so far.

Figures posted by Golf Digest state the Texas-based superstar has collected a whopping $15.8 million from tournaments this term, a figure which converts to just under £12 million.

Scheffler can add to that significantly this week with, as well as the prestigious Rolex Series title on offer at The Renaissance Club, the impressive purse for the co-sanctioned PGA Tour and DP World Tour spectacular stands at a juicy $9 million.

Of course, it is not about money for the American hero as he continues to rack up the titles and carve his name into the folklore of the sport.

Scheffler has yet to win the Scottish Open title, but his last effort at the Renaissance was highly-impressive as he ended the event two years ago in a tie for third behind top two Rory McIlroy and Bob MacIntyre.

Due to a heavy schedule and the extra week added at The Olympic Games, Scheffler opted to leave the Renaissance off his 2024 schedule prior to the Open at Royal Troon and his decision was vindicated as he stormed to the gold medal in Paris.

Scheffler will go from East Lothian to Northern Ireland for the Open also aiming to land a first Claret Jug.

His four previous appearances at The Open have seen make the Top 10 twice with a tied-seventh 12 months at Royal Troon the best effort so far.
