Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. Welcome to Robert Sports Show. I’m your host, Robert. All right, NASCAR Expinity Series and NASCAR Cup Series on the streets of Chicago this weekend. I know some folks think NASCAR belongs. It’s July 4th weekend. You got to be in Daytona. It’s tradition. You know what? There are some traditions in 2025 doesn’t make any sense anymore. to me and that’s one of them. Um we’re in the stretch of Chicago for two races. Um get started tomorrow with practice and qualifying in the morning for Expinity, then cup, and then expend race in the afternoon. Yeah, the first two years have been played by rain. Overall, I think it’s been fun. It’s been entertaining. I know a lot of people don’t like NASCAR road course racing, let alone street racing. It’s 2025. We have to change from what’s been done in the past in the 70s and 80s and 90s because people don’t watch same way they did then. You had a older generation then that apparently is way old now or not dead. So, you got to kind of change things up. Street racing is kind of that. I know a lot of people talk about how big F1 is. They they say NASCAR needs to be more I’ve heard this. NASCAR needs to be more like F1. Sweet. So, street races a road course race. No, no, no, no, no, not that part. But the So, yeah, you got to pick and choose there. But anyway, NASA finish series. The loop 110 110 miles, 50 laps around downtown Chicago. three stages, 15, 15, and 20. I know again there’s an argument on stage racing at Road Courses. Here’s the thing. Look at Mexico City. Shane Van Gizberen stayed out at the end of stage two knowing he had to pit during stage three. So instead of flipping the stage like some do, instead of staying out staying out and pitting at the end of the stage like some do, they just didn’t pit at all and he won the race from it. So there’s multiple different strategies. The old strategy would have been you can go say you can go 50 I think you can do this on probably done this on one stop maybe two stops. So if you can go say you go 20 laps on low fuel you need enough for lap 50. So 20 laps back from the back what left 30. So put on lap 35ish. 20 laps lap 15 to 20ish. Done. There’s your pit stops. That’s how everyone did road course racing. We didn’t have a lot of that different strategies. It was once it once people saw running the race backwards worked, Jeo’s team did it at Soma. Everyone started doing it. So in road courses in the last four years since 2022, 21 races Shane Van Ginsburg and this is just extended series in five races, three wins, average finish 2.0 Defending champion of this race, Connor Zilich, 2.3 average finish with two wins in three races. Taylor Gray in two races, average finish 4.5. Connor Zilich, I know with the news came out this week of Daniel Suarez not returning to track house in 2026. The new thing, you know, obviously more than likely it’s going to be Connor Zilich and the 87. Um, they’re going to number swap 99 for 87. I’m good with that. I like Conor Zilich. I’ve I’ve liked his interviews. Um, do I personally think he needs another year in Exfinity? Yes, I do. Do I Do I think it would have been beneficial for Track House to do a one-year deal with Daniel and bring Connor in in 2027? Yes, I do. But that’s not what Justin Marks felt that he needed to do for his company. I’m been becoming a fan of Connor Zilich and I’m going to continue supporting him as a fan. Um Taylor Greg getting average finished 4.5 in two races this year. Adrier five wins since 2022. Average finish eight point or 4.8. I know he’s not in this race but just kind of want to throw his stats out there as well. He’ll be in the booth which is going to be great. William Salitch 7.5 average finish. Jesse Love 10.57. Austin Hill 10.81. 81 Sam Mayer 11.19 Sheldon Creed at 14.19 as long as he doesn’t win Justin Algar 14.23 at the two races in Chicago so far average running position of those two races Shane Van Gizburgen 4.64 he’s only in one of them in the Infinity Series Austin Hill 4.78 he’s more than just a super speedway guy Jesse love 4.86 86 Sammy Smith 9.74 Justin Algar 11.60 Sheldon Creed 14.51 Sam Mayer 16.86 Jeff Burton 20.4 these are average running position for the two Chicago races Ryan Sie 20.57 and Parker Rzoff 22.28 average finishes for the Chicago races Gizburg in one race one win Jesse Le 5.0 Justin Nagar 6.0 0 Austin Hill 6.0 Sammy Smith 9.5 Jeb Burton 17.0 Sam Mayer 18.5 Sheldon Creed 18.5 Conor Mosak 20.5 and Ryan Sie 20.5 on the two road courses in 2025 so far. So Connor Zilich actually leads the way with the average running position on the two row courses in 2025 with 6.71 followed by Taylor great 7.11 Austin Hill 10.88 Sammy Smith 11.14 Jesse Love 11.84 Christian Echis 12.77 Carson Quapel 13.45 Brandon Jones 14.03 William Solage 15.22 and Sheldon Creed 15.24 24 average finish position in those two races. Connor Zilich 3.0 with a win. Austin Hill 3.5. Again, he’s more than just a super speedway guy. Christian Ekus 4.5. Of course, he’s in that 16 color car in the video series. Little AJ Rub on him. Taylor Gray 4.5. William Solich 7.5. Sammy Smith 10.5. Shelon Creed 11.5. Jesse Love 12.0. Sam Mayer 13.0. Jeff Burton 13.65. So with nine races left in the regular season and the regular season finale as Gateway Worldwide Technology Raceway, I will be there for my first ever Expinity race and the Cup race on Sunday. Can’t wait for that. The fact that is the regular season finale there at Gateway and we have pretty decent teams outside the playoff bubble. We could have that surprise just win and you’re in guy. Right now we have Justin Algar leading the way with three wins followed by Sam Mayer who’s minus 63. He’s plus 136 to the cut line. Austin Hill with three wins. Jesse Love with a win. Connor Zillich with two wins. Now he’s not on yet, but he’s won on the road course and a triangle. Carson Quapo sitting there at 16 points plus 63 to the cup. Brandon Jones with a win. Taylor Gray plus 28. Jeb Burton plus 20. and Nick Sanchez with a win sitting there in 10th. And then Sammy Smith has the other win. And then we have Jeff Burton or sorry Sheldon Creed tied plus zero. And we have Ryan Seminus 0, Harrison Burton minus one. Then everybody else is almost a race behind. And we have Christian Eckis – 51, Daniel Dy – 52. We have Dean Thompson – 53. Brennan Pool – 99. Jerry Jeremy Jeremy Clemens – 105. And then Josh Williams top 20 minus 126. So right now we have four rookies in the top 10 in points. We have Connor Zillich in fifth, Carson Quapo in sixth. Must be something in the water there at Junior Motorsports. Taylor Gray in eighth, Nick Sanchez in 10th, and then Christian Ekis, Daniel Dy, both for collect racing 151 16th, Dean Thompson 17th, and William Sage 23rd. So, we can have that surprise kind of winning your end like a Daniel Dy like a Christian Ekis, which would be really cool to see. But for typically right now, more than likely just now, guys will win the regular season title for there for Junior Motorsports. And who is in is more than likely going to be in. We really have a three-man battle for that final spot. Sheldon Curry, Ryan Sig, and Harrison Burton unless we get somebody win like a Josh Williams or one of the calllet cards. Now for the Loop 110 win picks, I got four of them. Obviously, I’m going with the big two like everyone else and the owner of the sun Shane Van Gizburgen in the nine for junior motorsports and his junior motorsports trackhouse teammate of Connor Zillich. I love the fact that Shane’s driving the nine WeatherTech Red Bull and Connor’s got the 88 Red Bull Weatherte and they’re just kind of the opposite PE scheme of one another. And then Taylor Gray, I got picked him kind of an outside shot against his first career win. And then Austin Hill, kind of that dark horse pick, but I think it’s going to be Shane versus Connor. Um, we can definitely going to see that next year at Road Horses as well. But in the Cup side, we may have a new one, new player in the game. We’ll talk about that next. As always, thanks for watching Robert Sports Show. Don’t just have a great day. Have a spiffy day. Robert Sports Show, your YouTube leader sports content.
