on the mound it’ll be the veteran right-handed pitcher Jose Bereios 2-2 with a 3.86 ERA bereios has allowed three runs or fewer in seven of his last eight starts he’s one and one with a 3.23 ERA in that span went with a change up here and he gets a roller out to second and he dispatches of stop one down now trey Turner home runs number six and seven on the season for Turner last night 02 and strike three cold a change up at the knees to get him so Turner strikes out two down and the base is empty but no soft spots in this Philadelphia lineup here’s Bryce Harper right he’s 01 broken bat bouncer just up the middle towards shortstop picked up by Bo Bashette he slings to first in a very different first inning than yesterday bereos goes through the Phillies are you ready for the encore i think that’s what we’re all thinking about as Mick Ael gets the baseball for the Phillies coming off a resounding first start tying Curt Simmons for the most strikeouts in a major league debut but tonight it’s a little bit more of a challenge nothing against the Pirates but there’s some pretty good players that he’s going to have to deal with tonight with the Blue Jays
no question about it a lot more patience in this lineup and a lot more veteran hitters and it’ll be a tough challenge for him i’m excited to watch it the one-two and a bouncing ball deep in the hold short backhand Turner couple of steps but plenty of time he’ll set his feet that brings up Guerrero that’s hit hard right to center field and Marsh makes the catch
that’ll bring up Addison Barger one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball certainly one of the hottest for the Jays two- two pitch swinging a miss struck him out curve ball got him and there’s the first strike out of the night for Mick Ael two down
dick Castanos the batter hitting .276 out to right center field that’s well hit going back on it is Lucas it is gone opposite field home run for Castanos the Phillies jump out to a one- nothing lead it ends an 0 for nine for Nick
mick Ael who’s got a one- nothing lead thanks to the home run by Castianos so four up four down for Ael so far and now George Springer who has hit the fast ball very well this season spring of the DH again tonight towering fly ball to center not deep marsh is under it another two outs mick Ael an out away from making it eight straight scoreless innings to begin his major league career nathan Lucas comes up able to one two swung on lined into the glove of Harper over at first base a cap high grab definitely some hard contact for both clubs so far tonight one away second strike out for Bereios that’ll bring up Brandon Marsh
three balls one strike line drive off the end of the bat out toward left center field that’ll drop in for a base hit a one out single two down that’ll bring up Trey Turner
two two pitch is bounced on the ground to shortstop charging in both throws to first and gets his fellow shortstop Trey Turner to end the inning one out and Jonathan Class hits from the left side three balls two strikes ninth pitch of the at bat and a strike three called right on the inside part of the plate that was a thing of beauties
i mean you couldn’t drop a pitch any better than that he painted it on the inside part of that plate
now Andre Jimenez in his second game back since coming off the IIO and 0 for three with a walk in his return last night lined into right center and that’s the first hit and the first base runner of the night for the Blue Jays as Bo Bashette steps in pitch swung on hit sharply diving he’s got it on the backhand he’ll get up and throw to first what a tremendous play on an absolutely smoked one hopper back up the middle and Bryson ends the inning with that dynamite play at second base there’s one out in this inning kyle Schwarber to step in
line drive base hit it to right field so he smoked his last one at the second baseman and he hits that one through the hole he’ll lead off first base with one out top of the fourth one- nothing Philadelphia burios to Alec Bow broken bat bouncer up the middle over the hill backhanded Jimenez steps on the back throws to first for a nifty 43 double play bereos erases the one out single getting the ground ball he needed to the platinum glover Andre Jimenez here’s Vladimir Guerrero Jr center field again marsh venturing back fortunately he was not able to get extended two down alejandro Kirk the one-two pitch swinging a bouncer deep in the hole backhand Turner he’s got it plenty of time will throw out Kirk and there’s another clean inning for Mick Ael who now does have 10 consecutive scoreless innings to begin his big league career and so Kepler draws a one out walk and it’ll bring up the catcher JT Ralmuto 1-1 swung on and it’s lined up the middle just out of the reach of Bett it’s a base hit into center softly hit but Bette was over in the hole and well something going for the Phillies now two on one out and Brandon Marsh who had a base hit his first time up
and the 3-2 no fast ball ball four and he walks them loads up the bases for Bryson bryson Stodd will hit with the corners in and the middle a little bit like halfway in
again the 3-2 and it’s popped up barger underneath it the infield fly rule is in effect two down
and now Alejandro Kirk and Pete Walker head out to the mound along with members of the Blue Jays infield how you want to attack Trey Turner here third time through he hits with the bases loaded two outs top of the fifth one- nothing Philadelphia on one is lifted to the right field pretty shallow near the line racing nathan Lucas makes the play to end the inning a pair of walks issued and a single burios loaded the bases with one out but he gets out of it no runs on a hit three left on base for the Phillies and this is still a one- nothing game in favor of the visitors mick Ael who’s been really really good tonight is back out there for the bottom of the fifth there’s out number two roden swings and grounds one to short turner’s got it and that’ll be the end of the fifth inning a one two three frame again for Mick Ael what a start again for the young right-hander bryce Harper will lead off for the Phillies we start the sixth inning and Bereo strikes out Harper for the second time tonight
one out kyle Schwarber to hit
i mean look at that you cannot do it better than that
pitching 101 yeah the fast ball on the inside corner he froze Schwarber alec Bow who was over for two
two pitch hit on the ground toward third base picked up by Barger takes his time tosses to first to retire Alec Bow mick Ael the rookie threw six shut out in his debut this is his second career start and he’s thrown five shut out one hit so far
can they get the bats going against 23-year-old Mick Ael
jimenez one for one today he’s the lone Blue Jays base runner there’s another good swing by Jimenez so the Blue Jays have two hits tonight and Andres Jimenez has both of them
he’s on first base he’s got nine steals this year bobetta off the glove of Rio Muto that’ll work as well
that plays Jimenez up to second first time a runner is at second for the Blue Jays tonight three 0 green light and a fly ball to deep left center field and it’s down off the glove of Marsh jimenez is in to score bette is on his way to third and in there with a triple that will tie the game bett’s first triple of the season the first run given up in the big leagues by Mcel and he is now done for the night
as he’ll officially go down as having begun his career with 11 scoreless innings
one out
two and two ground ball toward third backhanded by Bow flips it across the diamond showing some arm strength and there are two outs i mean you don’t make a better play if you’re a third baseman he’s going full board to his right almost to the dugout and throws a BB
here’s the pitch to Jimenez one-two pitch hitting the air to center rojos backing up stops and makes the catch there’s a one two three inning for Tanner Banks as these bullpens in a battle righty hitter Alec Bow is coming up and the Blue Jays go into their bullpen for the closer former Philly Jeff Hoffman pitches against them for the first time since leaving Philadelphia
bone greases him by lining a single into left field
nick Constanos is up go ahead run on first base two outs in the ninth the payoff pitch hit on the ground at third clemen stumbles as he charges it picks it up still and throws on to first to end the inning a lot of folks with very fond memories here in these parts for Markham Ontario’s Jordan Romano a two-time allstar as a Blue Jay a standing ovation in certain parts of the ballpark tonight you can imagine how badly he wants to succeed here tonight and look who’s coming up
the first two batters Romano will face will be Bette and Guerrero ouch wow oh my goodness he’s down at the plate and Bette actually waves to the Phillies dugout to say come on out that’s not good
that’s a bad spot to get a catcher right there there’s no doubt
i think he’s coming out of this ball game he He just tried to turn around they needed to help him and they are going to help him off the field hate to see that from Real Muto who has to stop again as he’s leaving the field this is about as bad as I’ve ever seen it
now Guerrero to face Romano one down and the Blue Jays get a run to walk it off fast ball grounded up the middle and into center a base hit and Guerrero is aboard the winning run is at first with one out here in the bottom of the ninth guerrero is running and he will steal second base jordan Romano blue Jays know him very well Dan and I don’t doubt they came into this series knowing that they can run marshon throws pretty well as a catcher
and Barger waves and misses there two down alejandro Kirk is up a base hit could win it kirk has been behind the plate for so many Jordan Romano outings now he’s trying to spoil a Romano outing for the first time in his career all those Blue Jays hoping to hop over the railing if Kirk can deliver a game-winning hit one two again fast ball hit high and deep right center and off the wall and the Blue Jays win it alejandro Kirk has done it again alejandro Kirk is your hero tonight as Toronto gets the big hit off its former closer to take it two to one and even the series
what a ball game what an ending what a big win for this

As you see time and time again it's not pitching but the hitting for the Phillies! These guys cannot hit get another hitting coach! Or bench some of these players!
Mick was getting hit hard. But luckily right at Phillies fielders. Still looks good. Offense went silent again tonight… stranding bases loaded early was the key to the loss. WAKE UP
Look how many guys left on base!
Phillies need to make a big trade, they need to trede for Chris Sale
Stott is something else at 2nd, what a great play! Anyone else wanna know what Marsh and Berrios were jawing about? It seems like there was some friction there. Noticed Marsh was out of the game in the later innings, what happened there? Tough loss, but we'll get 'em tomorrow.. Go, Phils!!.
I hope Able sees how well he can pitch and still lose cause he’s part of the most consistently inconsistent team to ever exist.
KIRK'S BEEN ON FIREEE LATELY YEA BABY HELLLLLOOOO
The Toronto Blue Jays are 32-29🔵🔴⚪️🐦🇨🇦
Kirk being up against Romano was so perfect he knows his pitch preferences and what his pitches look like better than most as his former catcher
Time to move Stott back to the bottom and Scwarbarain to 1 , , b4 June goes bankrupt
Kirk is clutch!!!!
Kirk again, what a ball player!
Romano is not performing save him for bigger leads.
WOO HOO!!! Great pitched ballgame by all, but sorry Jordan. We got ya this time, Buddy!
thats crazy the blue jays celebrate like they just won the world series. is that how bad teams feel when the win?
My anti hero had the last laugh / hit!
Let’s go Blue Jays
Baseball can be romantic sometimes
Poor JT. Hope he's ok
Nice to see Kirk exceeding his potential. He loves coming through in the clutch.
Besbol🇺🇲⚾️
Go Jays! What a hit by Kirk.
Blue Jays did nothing for about 90% of the game…
then a mistake from Marsh and a classic Romano performance handed them the win
Whilst Phillies leave bases loaded AGAIN…
Same old, same old…
Mets won. Phils lost.
That's a good day.
Clear to see we should have kept Hoffman
If Toronto misses ROMANO so much……they can GLADLY have him back for free! Another Phils LOSS bc of Romano and HE HURT our best JT! 😡😡😡😡
Can’t believe Romano is a two-time all star, he’s been nothing but bad since joining us. The Rookie is making him look like a minor leaguer!
In the top of the second did someone mention pope Francis death because nick hit a bomb
Mick Abel pitches like someone who's under constant threat by his own fanbase… which he is.
I don't understand how romano still has a job.
Great win blue jays!!!!!!!!!!!!
Swept them phillies go brewers
Let’s go Blue Jays!
Phils= worst outfielders in the league
One of the best wins of the year against one of the best teams in baseball let's go JAYS🎉
score 2-1 or 3-1 ?
Thoughts and prayers for JT's Realmutos. That hurt just to watch.
6:03 I wonder what they were saying.
and thats why Jays got rid of Romano. He sucked.
Philly a significantly better team, so nice win for Jays.
The catcher took a ball and he wasn't even batting
More of Dave Dombrowski’s Greatest Hits-letting Jeff Hoffman get away.
vladdy stealing bases is so funny lmao
KIRK!
Walking it off against Romano was a picture perfect ending, once more, Atkins’ move to let him go and get Hoffman is proving to be the correct one!!! WAY TO GO, CAPTAIN KIRK!!! I saw many Jays fans say that we couldn’t beat the good teams, and yet here they beat one of baseball’s best with only two runs!
Having the best pitching is so important, and boy, did we!!! Great outing by Berrios giving up just the one run and stranding the bases loaded in the fifth, and how ironic that Kirk’s game-winning double off our old closer gave our new one the victory! Romano is still Romano in tie games lol🤣🤣
Not enough credit to vladdy for stealing 2nd! Crazy gamble in the 9th from a player who never steals haha so good
Rob Thompson's gotta go he decides what pitcher goes in and out of the game and he never chooses the right pitcher, you should have let the rookies stay in and earn some experience
