Chunking your irons?
Yeah… that’s not your swing’s fault. It’s how you’re set up.
See, if your hands aren’t leading at impact, you’re probably stopping your turn and flipping at the ball.
That’s what causes fat shots.
And it’s baked into the conventional golf setup most people are taught.
What we do instead is set you up in a single plane position — where your hands are already in front, and your body is in the exact shape it needs to be at impact.
No more jumping, lifting, or chunking. Just turn… and compress.

If you keep chunking your irons, you’re making this common mistake. Look, you might be hitting behind the golf ball. You see it all the time. The problem with that is is that you’re not getting the hands leading the shot. And really, the cause of that is improper body position. See, what happens in a golf swing is when you’re turning and you stop turning too soon, the hands start moving and then you chunk and hit behind it. In other words, the hands aren’t getting in front of the golf ball. A lot of that happens because you’re just in a tough, difficult address position from the conventional swing. If you’ve learned to hang your arms down here and you’re close to the golf ball, you’re jammed up. You’re trying to figure out how do I get to that ball and turn and get down to it. There’s so much stuff that goes on in a conventional swing. Let me show you an easier way, and this will make a lot of sense to you. What I’m going to do is I’m going to go into what I call a single plane position. All I’m really doing is putting the club in a position very similar to where it’s going to be at impact. See, I’m not changing the club’s plane. And what that does, look at my body. It makes it easy to get the hands to lead. See how easy the hands are leading because I don’t have to jump and move and lift. I basically all I have to do is turn and the hands lead. I’m going to put the club on a single plane. I’m going to go from my conventional address, arms hanging down to a single plane, arms up. And now look at my body. Look at my right shoulder. See how easy the hands can get in front? And that’s what stops you from chunking it. By setting up with the hands already in front on a single plane, I take the club back and it naturally comes down and it won’t chunk it. Watch this. And so what happens from a single plane? The natural movement leads the hands. No longer have to jump out of the way. The body can rotate through on a perfect single plane.
