no some flowers or something it’s nice to come to a place where I’ve played well at and have good memories xander Shoffley wins the Travelers Championship so I can sit here and think back to what I did that week maybe some good things can happen ready y this event has delivered some sensational Sunday finishes stage is set for another great final round but everyone is still chasing this man Xander Schoffley we are both way thinner than Oh my god remember this right here this has ripped up the left half may need a good bounce

this is when you gave me the wrong
the wrong wind direction austin this is my favorite i got to find this guy
this guy right here look at him yep my man i hit a ball hits the car path and I was like “Oh boy.” You know there’s like a pick and fence there and it hits one of the posts and comes back in play and I have like a completely clear shot off a matted lie to a to a middle pin that’s a two shot swing at least cuz I would have to rehit that T- shot so I just told myself you know you have to take take advantage of it and you’re not going to get another one

well that could have been a whole lot worse for Shaw
that’s probably one of the best breaks we’ve ever gotten in our Yeah playing career huh you’ve you’ve been given your your chance here you know you got to take advantage of it here’s one man making some noise sah Theala for Birdie he was doing the thing that people do coming down the stretching and you know trying to catch up to him
we’re set up for more drama on the 18th at the green thala eyeing up a bokegei putt oh that is cool you hear this guy there’s a guy up there that says saw his just made double of the tournament is yours

i thought for sure you heard it

we were one back yeah we were thinking birdie on the T fortunately had a good number coming in here was it lob wag yeah
contact was good and the result is great [Applause] xander Shley wins the Travelers Championship you had buzz head down too look at that i think you gave me the haircut guys that’s why I look so dodgy
i mean it’s a buzz i mean I wouldn’t call it

i want to say it’s been about 3 years now i not say I’m a professional barber but I I I do all right I guess i mean he doesn’t complain and he keeps coming back to me so I guess I could add Barber to my my LinkedIn preparing the golf bag is mainly Austin’s job
so nightly I got to make sure he’s got protein he’s got bars to eat stock golf balls enough gloves here’s his protein shaker uh need to rinse that out
that’s disgusting that’s from last night
i’m going to I’ll just put his new protein in there i won’t even wash it out mess with him a little bit i carry backup contact lenses in here
just in case you know he goes blind on the course can’t read a putt
that was a first alternate my rookie year at um Waste Management
Waste Management and this gentleman every year I’ve seen him and he’ll give me silver like coins there’s a 1964 quarter and my dad was born in 1964 i don’t I mean I don’t know if it’s so much me being really superstitious or just me feeling like having everything be the same so call it what you want and then golf clubwise we have a few wood options whether it’s a three-wood a four-wood hybrid and couple different wedges a couple different lob wedge grinds you know depending on the surface that week if it’s rained if it’s been really dry that kind of affects the whole back actually he has nightmares about having like 15 clubs in the bag once a month I have a nightmare where I’m just pulling clubs out and they’re never ending and it’s just literally my nightmare that back left pin you could actually hit long
because it’s been back right before hasn’t it feel like they’ve had it back right front front left before too right on Sunday

and you want to be down left but then you can’t flirt with water so you know this chip from from right is downhill so
you know that’s a that’s a tough pin but
for sure
this is our uh yardage book for TPC River Highlands here in Hartford Connecticut you know I’ve accumulated you know 8 nine years of notes in here if I lose this I’m in trouble
i think you’d be all right yeah but you just have to redo a lot of work it’d be a lot of work
we like to sort of go over what what we did last year you know what we’ve done really well and um depending on the wind certain pin locations are are more or less uh accessible austin will take his notes in terms of lines targets uh lands things of that nature obviously it’s my job to try and hit those um that’s the hard part i feel like we always have a discussion this on this hole huh
yeah should I hit a driver
no no you shouldn’t no i see someone up on the hill over here
yeah Jordan speed’s up there making birdie from there and I’m trying to tell you to hit four iron off the tea so but at the end of the day we just need to hit fairway there i mean control your spin coming in
yep exactly i think the biggest thing for me is we’re always just trying to put myself in a good spot um to succeed and talking it over enough can sort of take the edge off of you know a good or bad shot 800 ft turn left you think you would not need directions after 8 years but you know
not that familiar being out here can kind of be lonely and you know what better way to make it fun than to bring one of your buddies out and kind of learn the ropes together it definitely makes uh travel on the road go by

oh my gosh that is amazing got his own billboard
that is absolutely wild i could see you paying for your own billboard to go i plan for the unexpected in golf just by having a really good team with Avis you know planning for the unexpected it’s easy just I know they have my back you know that app is super super friendly uh and it it kind of works pretty quickly so I’d say that sort of flexibility and and reliability is for people that travel so much is is is an awesome thing car down looking for our spot looking for our spot oh look at this

is nice reserved oh they put the open on there too that’s pretty cool look at that all right
looking back on the season it’s been a battle i’ve had some really really really statistical highs in in some events and then some extreme lows as well tough break for Xander to drop back to four over as they go to nine
at this point of the year I still have lofty goals you just got to sort of lean on some self-belief to achieve those goals xander Schoffley is one of five past champions in this event
we call him the summer soldier it’s only a matter of time i play my best golf over summer and we’re kind of entering that stretch so I only have a few events to to do something crazy and I’m just looking forward to competing the rest of the season i still have a lot of golf in front of me uh to sort of make my mark this year [Music]
