Collin Morikawa, Tommy Fleetwood, and Sahith Theegala spoke to the media following their TGL Semifinal loss against NYGC, where they were asked:
– Take us through the match?
– How was your strategy today?
– What will you take from this first season of TGL?
well yeah I mean uh New York played great and uh you know we I I think we had our chances and uh you know I didn’t play great at take responsibility on that and um we just you have to make putts in this format and in these matches you have to make putts you got to hit some decent shots but comes down to making putts and and we weren’t getting the ball in the hole first I mean that matters a lot and um it sucks cuz uh I felt like we played we had a nice Rhythm throughout the season um still love these guys I think we’ I’d take any of these guys on our team on the LA team against anyone uh any day of the week and it just happened uh to not be our day today strategy was good um I think um yeah I I I think look overall I think it was a pretty high standard of match um you know couple of mistakes but you know even with um the chances that I feel like we could have taken um we’re all the type of people that are probably going to blame ourselves but at the end of the day had a four footer there that would have taken us down the last hole anything can happen from there so even with the chances that we didn’t take we were still you know right there looking to take it to the last hole where we I felt like even when we were put under so much pressure where we had to decline a couple of those Hammers and we’re already down I felt like we did a really good job of that and um you know at the end of the day uh you know look at it they they perform better play better and hold the p and um you know good luck to those guys in the final look we didn’t really all know what to expect fully I think and um I think I could speak for a lot of these guys it was a lot more fun than I thought and um it it was super competitive and I I enjoyed every moment of it um it went by too fast to be honest uh obviously wish our season was a bit longer uh into the finals but yeah it was just feel like every match we played had had a bunch of highlights um I think that just speaks volumes to to the guys on our team um when when the moment was big uh they stepped up all throughout the season and it just didn’t go our way this this match but um yeah we had a lot of highlights I think this is a good the whole setup that we have going is a good kind of highlight Factory in a sense uh lets us showcase our skills to to the best of our abilities and um you know wish we wish we had a few of those Highlights today I mean we still did we still had a few but um yeah uh just sucks to to have just lost that
