Golf Digest’s Best Young Teacher in America, Gavin Parker, explains USGA Rule 4.1b: you’re only allowed 14 clubs in your bag. It’s a simple rule, but one that’s easy to break—especially if you forget to check before teeing off. Gavin walks through the rule and the penalties you’ll face in both stroke and match play.

let me tell you something If you’re new to golf I wish I would have knew that you can only have 14 clubs max in your golf bag Now when it comes to these 14 clubs you can have less but if you have more you’re going to start being penalized for having too much When it comes to training aids or alignment rods you can keep those in the bags because they’re not golf clubs You can have a few lefties You can have a few righties if you’re that skilled But I’m telling you all you need to know is make sure you have no more than 14 clubs and you’re good to go [Music]
