Taxpayers did little to hide their frustration with President Donald Trump upon learning that they’d be spending $600,000 to provide Secret Service agents access to golf carts and portable toilets at one of his private country clubs.
Over the years, Trump has routinely flocked to his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey — which was recently hit with 18 food violations and ‘lowest in US’ rating. He allegedly once made a questionable demand to an employee at the club before posting a brazen image of his friend being attacked by a goose on the fairway.
According to federal records reviewed by The Independent’s Justin Rohrlich, the Secret Service inked a pair of contracts with Associates Golf Car Service of Poughkeepsie, New York, and Restroom Resources LLC of Wrightstown, New Jersey last month.

The first agreement — which would potentially come out to around $550,930 and is reportedly slated to run through June 2, 2026 — is for “Golf Car Rental and Transportation Services.”
The latter deal, meanwhile, will reportedly be in place up until May 31, 2026 and carries a $80,385 price tag for “portable restroom rentals and services.” An additional three-year, $333,801 renewal option is also available.
Taking to social media, droves of disgruntled Americans expressed their anger after hearing where their taxpayer dollars are ending up.
“Gross abuse of taxpayer dollars,” one X user wrote, with another adding: “Secret Service can now ride around and relieve themselves on OUR dime. Where’s DOGE on this waste of money?”

A third chimed in, “Remind everyone, [this] is Donald Trump, the guy who is forcing the US government to rent golf carts and cabanas for his own protection and charging them back for it. No one has ever done that.”
In order to ensure Trump’s safety during his golf outings, Secret Service agents often ride in golf carts several holes ahead of the 79-year-old.
As for the portable toilets, a Secret Service spokesperson revealed that the abundance of restrooms are “needed to support the number of personnel onsite” at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, which boasts a whopping $125,000 initiation fee according to The Wall Street Journal.
“The U.S. Secret Service has contracts in place for portable restrooms and golf cart rentals to support protective operations in Bedminster, New Jersey,” the spokesperson told The Independent in an email on Monday. “The golf carts are used by personnel to move around club property.
“Secret Service personnel have access to restrooms in club facilities; however, additional restrooms are needed to support the number of personnel onsite.
“These rentals also allow for restroom access in additional locations on club property and when club facilities are closed such as after business hours.”
