The Club Doesn’t Need You to Pull. It Needs You To Trust #golfswing

  1. One of the hardest moves in the golf swing is letting the club fall into the slot.
That feeling of weightlessness – where the club drops behind you – doesn’t just happen.
It only works if your right hand is completely relaxed at the start of the downswing.

    And that’s tough.

    Why?
Because your right hand is usually stronger.
It’s lower on the grip, closer to the clubhead – so it has more leverage and wants to take control.
But the more you try to control the club here…
…the more you block the natural drop.

If you pull from the top, the club won’t fall – it will come forward.
    You’ll run out of space.
And that’s when you’ll see a chicken wing or that over-the-top move in your swing.

That’s why a big part of your training should be learning to relax the right hand – again and again – until your body trusts the motion.

  2. The weight transfer can not get ahead of the club falling, you can't slide left and have what is happening in this video occur. A sense of calmness to allow the swing to happen.
    Great video.
