Canada Day celebrations
On July 1, gather downtown to celebrate Canada Day. Join us for free and family-friendly events starting at 10 a.m. Enjoy an Indigenous Spotlight and Powwow, live music, cultural performances, food trucks and more.

Fireworks
Canada Day will end with a spectacular fireworks show launched from Stampede Park at 11 p.m. The best viewing location is at The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland (formerly Fort Calgary).
The Stampede grounds will be closed to the public due to the set-up of the 2025 Stampede.Vehicle access into West Ramsay (Scotsman’s Hill) will be restricted.
Tee up at City golf courses
Get into the swing of things at City driving ranges or tee it up at one of our seven municipal golf courses at five locations throughout the city. Visit calgary.ca/golf to learn more and book a tee time.
Visit a local farm stand
Consider visiting one of our community farm stands open on July 1 to find a variety of fresh, healthy and seasonal food options and support our local/regional farmers.

Getting around
Calgary Transit
On July 1, Calgary Transit will be operating buses, CTrains and On Demand on a Sunday level of service. The call centre and customer service centres will be closed. More information about transit service on Canada Day can be found on the Calgary Transit website.
Calgary Parking
Enjoy free parking in on-street ParkPlus zones on July 1. Weekend rates apply at all Calgary Parking surface lots and Lot 24 Parkade (Arts Commons), while all other parkades are free. Please note that regular rates will be in effect at partner lots such as TELUS Spark, the Calgary Stampede, Calgary Zoo and Heritage Park. The Calgary Parking Contact Centre and Impound Lot will be closed on July 1.

Road closures
Sunnyside Flood Barrier: Lane closure on eastbound Memorial Drive from 10 Street N.W. to Centre St N. Westbound Memorial Drive is single lane in both directions. Signal timing has been adjusted to optimize traffic flow.
East Village: the following road closures will be in effect on July 1 from 6 a.m. to midnight:
8th Avenue S.E. from 4th Street S.E. to 6th Street S.E.6th Street S.E. from 9th Avenue S.E. to 8th Avenue S.E.5th Street S.E. from 9th Avenue S.E. to 7th Avenue S.E.
