They usually email instructions. I was 6th last year and they told me to come at 6 am and wait. I think they told the top 10 people on the waitlist to go at 6 and they slot you in as availability comes up. I went off around 8.

No experience, but I’d get there early. If someone cancels a tee time, they’ll probably call you and you’ll have plenty of time to get there. But if someone just no-shows, 30 minutes away is too far. I don’t know what kind of dumbass no-shows a tee time on the Old Course, but I know there are lots of dumbasses out there, so enjoy your round.

  5. Show up early in the morning before the 1st scheduled Tee-time of the day. Enjoy your golf…I’m happy for you…really…I swear…I’m…happy.

I was 4th last year. Showed up at 6 am, I was teeing off by 8:15. Lots of members with 3 in the group they ask if they’ll take a guest as a 4th. Sit there and you’ll get on quick. Lots of people no show their tee times

Hit the link in the red box at the bottom of the page, it will have some information about the process 😉

Show up when the starter’s hut opens. Members tee off early and have right of refusal as to whether to invite singles. The starter will likely tell you what your chances are of getting out and from there, you may want to just wait, or be able to grab breakfast and come back.

2 weeks ago, I was number 7 on the list and never got on. You never know. I thought I’d be a lock. Sad day waiting around and watching other people play and you can’t.

I think the dirty little secret is there are always a couple starter’s times for the starter to get on track if the tee falls behind. It rarely falls behind, so they always fill those times with singles from the waitlist. Probably 8-12 people easily.

You have a pint of the finest on tap, a dram of something stronger, and then go to bed early. Enjoy the round and hit em straight

I was first alternate. Someone had already cancelled their tee time the night before. SO I showed up at 6:15, was the first person to talk to someone, and got a tee time. You aren’t guaranteed a tee time as the first alternate, but I would bet my 401k you get on. Congrats and have fun!

  14. I was 12th a couple of weeks ago and needed up teeing off at 12:40.

Go straight to the starters hit and check-in. They tell you what to do from there.

    Most importantly, enjoy your round!

I just came back, some guys in my group got in after being around 10 on the list, you should absolutely go down there in the morning and chill at rusacks until you get called
