what’s up everybody ben Renez here for Stoastic PGA Time we’re going to talk picks strategy lineups and everything in between for the I apparently it’s the Rocket Classic now I call it the Rocket Mortgage Classic what do I know we’ve seen this tournament it’s not a major it’s a far cry from a major but it’s not an elevated event either so we’ve got a cut we’ve got some randos i actually like this better than what we saw last week at Travelers where Tommy Fleetwood ripped out my soul as he did many other people but we pick up the pieces there we’ve got a lot to break down first things first welcome to Stocastic all things DFS if you play DFS you enjoy DFS it’s place to be honestly take a look around this channel if you like it subscribe i’m going to get into all the tools all the data all the stuff that we’ve got here on the site we’re going to have some fun right now now fair warning I may pass out from Heatstroke during the show and that will be a ratings bonanza because it is so hot where I am but we’re going to power through no days off and we head to Detroit i don’t know what the weather is there but I do know a little about this course Detroit Country Club that we have seen uh you know more than half a decade here it’s been there for a while for this event it’s pretty easy um par 72 you got the par fives to take advantage of you can be pretty aggressive uh at times pretty fast greens all this stuff what do I care about i don’t think it’s putting competition even though you need to roll it to make birdies you can be aggressive off the tea but it’s not comically long so it’s not just be aggressive with Bombers Paradise it’s just be aggressive in the sense that you have to score now if you’re spraying it all over the place yes you can get in trouble in this rough but for generic purposes for me uh strokes gained off the tea strokes gained te to green blah blah blah birdies are better par five scoring that’s the type of stuff that I’ll be looking at amongst just you know we know the players it’s late in the season get to these players bringing up the data hub here at Stokastic we’re going to run through uh and let’s get it started so the first thing that you notice that I noticed we have to change our mindset from what we’ve been dealing with and I like this exercise i think it’s a much more difficult challenge we have been dealing with talking about a $14,000 player a $13,000 player even a $12,000 player that would be Rory i was alluding to Sheffller first none of that is here none of those guys are here none of those prices are here so what does that do well one it allows you to pay up a lot more freely and not be absolutely crushed at the bottom of your range but two we have to acknowledge that there is no one that’s two to one to win this tournament there is no one that’s like minus 500 for a top 10 or anything like that morawa Keegan Patrick Kentlay Ben Griffin Deckey Harry Hall Cam Young i just ratted off some names of guys that are looking for their first wins in quite a while i just ratted off some names of guys that are in the mid7s for majors this is the top of the range and that is something that I think is we have to acknowledge uh that it’s going to change how you build ownership wise it’s somewhat dispersed we always see that you don’t have that one guy for me I will go to Morawa and Kantley as my one two long term I think they’re clearly the best players you could throw Deia in there as well in the short term they’re not playing up to the standards of them but I still like some of what I’m seeing now Kantlay let’s start with him he’s been god awful in the biggest tournaments he missed a cut at the US Open he missed the cut at the PGA he was 36th at the Masters around that he’s actually been pretty good 13th at Heritage fourth at the Truist 12th at Memorial 12th at Travelers off the tea automatic the putting hasn’t been great i think his game’s closer than it seems he’s just been a frustration point morawa also automatic off the tea the irons flash at times he’s been a little more consistent but also not really there 50th at the PGA 23rd at the Open 14th at the Masters he was runner up in Florida he had a good start to the season a lot of you know top fives top 10s still not winning at the clip i mean we’re going back through 2024 to search for a win so that’s where you’re at with that keegan he won last week no problem with him he’s playing good golf uh captain Ben Griffin also playing obviously very good golf this year he has not had a problem winning um and being right there he followed up a win at Charles Schwab second at Memorial he’s just he’s just been automatic now the putter is on fire for him it doesn’t mean it’s going to cool off but he is putting out of his mind at an unsustainable rate decki’s just been indifferent around the green is always strong for him for me you’ve got Kantley Morawa ben Griffin is solid but he’s gonna be very popular cam Young let’s talk about Cam Young i’m combining this whole range because I don’t think there is like just a a top tier per se it seemed like Cam Young was building towards that win fourth in Canada really close for the US Open and then he’s 52nd at Travelers he’s also putting out of his mind and his irons actually haven’t been good throughout this run he’s just been putting out of his mind i do like the course i do like the setup he’s in the pool but I do want to point out for the third time in a minute he’s putting out of his mind uh all right let’s scroll down or let’s not scroll down let’s Okay here we go you know these things are never easy there we go you can still Yeah well we’re going to have to zoom in we’ll zoom in a little bit for you oh look at that i’m I’m an innovator all right sew Gryman Luke Clanton Tony but he’s not here uh Killer Keith Mitchell Ricky Fowler Windham Clark and his destructive nature Minwi Matthew Fitzpatrick Rasmus Batia i like this range past couple weeks when I’ve done this video it’s not for any specific reason i have not liked the lower nines upper eights much i like it this week i like Gryman quite a bit uh the guy is consistent on tour the next step let’s get consistently into the top 20 because he has made eight straight cuts and he has made zero top 20 appearances when it’s all said and done but I think he’s going to break through that right here and these were good tournaments 23rd at the US Open 33rd at the PGA grman’s got the game for this uh ball striking is fine off the tea is good putter usually an asset i’m good with that um what do I do with Ricky i I honestly don’t know you know this is a situation where Ricky showed some signs at the memorial he was fine at Travelers he flashed within the tournament um you know he’s won here uh and you got to go low i’m fine with Ricky i think 87’s a little rich he’s in the pool i’m not planning on jamming him i’ll be over 9% i’ll tell you that much uh no doubt about it if Clanton is and and again these are our ownership it will update and I’ll talk about how you can get all this data and more in just a bit if Clanton is only 6% I’m going to get over it even though I don’t really like the spot I just think that that’s pretty appetizing in terms of an easy leverage spot fitzy I bought on Fitzy last week not great um but at the same time 17th I can work with it was 17th with no putting and that that’s something that I am kind of interested in i actually like this course for him now it’s kind of a mystery of what we get but I think he could take apart some of these he certainly can roll it i don’t love him if it’s like minus 28 winner style that’s not how I picture Matthew Fitzpatrick getting it done but he still can be effective at 8.4 rasmus is right below him he’ll be leverage if you want to go there he is someone that off the tea is very strong the putter is is very erratic and with that you’re going to get erratic results now he has made the cut at all three majors not a lot of guys can say that he also has nothing inside the top 30 at these majors take it for what it’s worth this is a class drop in terms of the field strength i think you could get a better finish there uh so for me you’ve got I didn’t talk about Seaw i’m indifferent i think he’s a fine play risman Ricky Fitzy Rasmus those are those are the names that for me uh I will probably be over on not gonna take any like crazy shorts here because you don’t need to there’s not a lot of ownership you know just to scroll back up for a second the ownership is obviously up top because you can mix and match and then you’re going to get more ownership as we work down kind of to this next range davis Thompson is going to be potential chalk ryan Gerard who I do I do like a little bit is gonna be Char but I want to talk about Gotup at flat eight he can take apart these par fives he’s one of the best players off the tea in this field he has been pretty consistent he’s made four of six cuts but everything inside the top 30 so he’s giving you a little more upside than some of these guys i like him as a natural pivot off of Davis Thompson off of Ryan Gerard don’t want to discount those guys particularly Gerard who I will be uh looking to this guy is rocking an ice cold putter like crazy ice cold he’s lost more than two strokes putting in four straight events everything else looks beautiful and before that he was rolling it fantastic so I don’t know what to make of that but I do have some interest there as we scroll down to the mid range Thunderbear Thorborn Olison Norin these guys are pretty neutral uh Joerger he was someone that I I played last week and I actually thought to decent success now he has had a price increase because this is not an elevated event got an ownership increase as well i like the play i just don’t know if I like it as much as everybody else and that’s kind of a similar theme with Benon i’m going to get to some of these guys there’s no doubt about it but I don’t know if I’m going to be allocating 25% of the portfolio you look at Benon 14th at Travelers he’s always crafty around the green he’s always good off the tea his putter is not good but it’s not been terrible lately and not terrible is basically all we can ask for at times with a player like this taylor Moore is going to be the high leverage but keep in mind that’s because we have him projected at only a couple percented i don’t have a lot there i’m going to talk about Go then we’ll talk about some fun stuff here go 7,400 he’s projecting north of 15% ownership he has a bad leverage score i understand all of that i still want him in the pool he is striking it beautifully he was great uh at obviously took Oakman and dealt with it admirably um 19th there 24th in Canada 16th at the Charles Schwab he’s another guy the putter is going to come and go but I like this course for him don’t love it again 25 under is not the not the jam because he usually can’t putt enough but he’s 7,400 there’s a lot of equity there that he gives you middling returns you know he’s over two to one for a top 20 i can live with that with ties if you’re talking about betting but go belongs in in the player pool i hope this ownership comes down a little bit and if you want to find out if it does I have mentioned this and I hope you guys honestly the tools that we have here are not just for one type of DFS player and I I can speak to this because I’m not a 150 maxer i like to build for three maxes single entries some of the high stakes stuff and I absolutely use these tools each and every week not every tool every week but I find the ones that work for me and that’s how we set this up as you can see we’ve got weekly and monthly and we have four packages here and they have different features all of them come with some of the optimizers and things like that if you want the ownership and the data if you want the single lineup simulator which we’re going to build some lineups in just a few minutes here that is part of this as well if you want the sims if you’re really looking to say I want to take the next level i want to be able to evaluate my lineups all that type of stuff it’s here and my advice I say this don’t commit for 10 year come in for a week check this out the link is below just click the link in the description read about the packages and give it a shot if you play any sort of volume it is worth it to see how this works with your process you get in Discord as well you can ask questions make sure you’re getting the most out of these tools absolutely worth it i couldn’t be more proud uh to use these tools and just honestly hopefully help me make some serious money like so many of the people uh that we’ve had this year obviously there’s testimonials for days link below we’ll get you right in the door now start going let’s start getting start getting a little dangerous low7s uh Rico Huey bomber jake Knap bomber rio popular Rio uh deep flyer on Patrick Rogers deep flyer on Cam Davis who shot like 300 over the last time I saw him um it’s kind of a dead range for me skill set stacks will be relevant what I mean by that is if I go you know three four or five bombers if I go tea time stack I may pluck from this range but I’ll be honest I’m underweight on the range i don’t love a lot of these guys if I had to pick my favorite I think Lee Hodgeges uh would be that he’s neutral leverage decently owned relative to the range but I’m fine with that i think I think NAP is kind of interesting but again I don’t think I’m going to need to get here because I like some of these guys right below them ricky Castillo is a name in terms of now we’re getting to flyers but Ricky Castillo is in my range of straight flyers you look at him he’s actually been all right this year he’s fifth to CJ Cup 12th at Valpar he doesn’t have the most consistent he’s got he’s missed three of five cuts but it’s not been off the tea it hasn’t been irons it’s been mostly putting field strength that’s more reasonable i’m okay with that uh you look at that Sheamus is right here if he’s 1% owned and I take 5% I get nice leverage and I don’t overhaul my pool to do something like that ecro the man the leverage man every time Ecro grades out really well and he hadn’t been playing well and then a travelers boom he gained five strokes with the approach in route to a 25th place finish he still has not putted at all he has lost in seven straight events with the flat stick he has to fix that but if he does this could be an interesting spot for him didn’t rule him out you don’t need to get crazy with this range As you can see everyone on my screen the most popular guy is 6% own so you don’t need a lot of shares to get a lot of this range champ Mega Bomber Rosner kind of interesting it’s starting to get a little dangerous we are in the straight salary saver range as we go down and two things to note i want to tie this in nicely to the beginning of the video you’re not jamming to get Rahm and Sheffller Rory and Bryson a lot of times when you do that you have to take some guys at the bottom this is a field without those top end players it doesn’t mean you want to rule out the lower sixes or even the sixes at all it just means that the win equity is distributed amongst the entire field a lot differently so keep that in mind when you are building this week like I said it’s 100° in here you don’t know i’m battling the elements uh this is like dealer’s choice you’re just choosing best available there’s no doubt for me Hadwin at 68 i actually blindly allocated some shares to Hadwin last week and for about five minutes I felt like a genius he ended up being in 57th he made the cut in Canada he’s off the tea game is weak so you’re going to have to kind of reverse what we talked about if you get to him you’re not going to get to him in the traditional stats that we’re factoring now again these are flyers so you can open it up to that if you’re looking for traditional stats you would go to a lot of guys right next to him specifically Trey Mullenax um Steven Fisk some of those guys they’re more traditional off the team metrics that you’re that you would look for hadwin is not that toasty that’s another wild man valam Mackis down here but here’s my guy you want a sleeper pick jeremy Paul um I have been macro buying on this guy and when I say macro buying what I mean by that is just I’m playing him basically indefinitely because I believe that there’s a good finish in there i don’t know where it’s going to be but I can kind of just allocate five eight 10 12% and just have healthy positions and hadn’t done much he was 18th in Canada he gained in all four categories that was really encouraging this guy has a couple top 20s on the year that’s about all you can say off the te seems to be his strongest part of the game i’m going to take some stabs at 6700 for a guy like that as we scroll down there’s a lot of names and not a lot of ownership and not a lot of interest and now we click to the second page and it gets even crazier you’re looking at a lot of names i’m gonna say this if you told me I have to play one guy sub6500 one guy I would play Trevor Conn one I don’t think I’ve ever played him so I would add to the all-time player pool uh two though on a more serious note this guy he made the cut at the US Open he has gained five straight events off the tea and he’s gained four of five with the approach now the putter is weak the results are not you know he has nothing really sustained on tour but at the same time there’s nothing in this range uh I actually like the ball striking numbers relative to the range i don’t think we need to spend a lot of time on this because my advice would be don’t go into this range if you had to if you were playing in a new format that doesn’t exist where you have to play someone at 6,500 or below I would play Trevor Home now we just went through the field let’s have some fun again I already talked about you can get involved at any time the link is below check out these packages and find the one that works for you give it a shot for a week and when you do an DM me or anyone on the team for any questions I want to build a lineup you guys want to build some lineups the answer is going to be yes even if it’s no I can’t hear you so it doesn’t matter um we’re building lineups let’s get to it all right man look at the val you got to be kidding me with that go yeah that’s what I’m talking about ryan Gerard that’s what I’m talking about couple chalky guys though so let’s keep that in mind we don’t want to get too crazy with that i mentioned that I like Lee Hajes we’re going to have plenty of money so let’s go the other way i’m going to sort by projection now uh and again the beautiful thing about this is you you can kind of just you can mess around with whatever you want um you can sort by projection you sort by this you can just use this as a guide of like okay let me see where these lineups are if I just click some buttons and then I’ll refine i do that a lot um I’m kind of doing that right here so I’m clicking buttons and we’ve got 8,200 left batia i don’t really like Davis Thompson but he would fit nicely here and I’ll put him in and then you could pivot to a guy like Godup uh if you wanted to so I’m just going to run this you press run simulation you go over here and the tools go to work for you and this shows you a a readout of what you might be expecting and that’s the beautiful thing about it it’s not the end all beall but it puts you on the right track if if it’s wildly negative you might want to improve if it’s in the green I think you’ve got a pretty effective lineup and that is kind of how we go about this it’s very simple minus 5% that’s not too bad it’s golf here you also can factor your pool size large contest percentage to first so like something I think that’s pretty interesting i’m just going to mess around with this i’m not even going to change the lineup but watch you’ll see some interesting things here this is the exact same lineup but I did change some of the parameters and we will definitely get a different readout and you can use that as a good barometer as well is this a great large field GP team is this a cash team is this a threemax team you can do some of those calculations on your own right from this tool uh one of my favorites as you can see it seems like this team is not the best suited for a topheavy large field tournament maybe a little better in satellites things of that nature and then you can 2v2 you can knock a couple guys out we could do this all day uh in fact I frequently find myself doing this all day as I build lineups um changing up some things changing up this seeing what happens it’s so fun and it’s a great way to set the tone for your week particularly if you’re honing in on some lineups if you’re generating a bunch obviously you’ve got the contest generator the pre-contest simulator all that stuff to build hundreds and hundreds and you know simulate the entire field and all that so you can do that you can work off this a lot of ways to get a lot of value right here at Stokastic i appreciate everyone tuning in quick and easy here for the Rocket Classic we talked about some lineups we talked about some strategies again my theme this week certainly is you got to attack and you’ve got to score but just keep in mind the difference in the cards that we’ve all been dealt with the field it is an absolutely different puzzle from when you’re allocating 13 and change for Sheffler who’s three to one to win tournaments versus guys like Morawa Keegan and Kantlay who are not on that level they’re still the most likely winners of this tournament but they don’t suck up as much win equity distribution and that is a major factor this week if I did not get to somebody please tweet me at Jazzrazbetss i will answer any golf question you have i will dig in any of the numbers i will give you the scores the leverage and whatnot you can get to all this info for yourself again link is below in the description let’s make some money and when you do my last request tweet me so we can celebrate we love to see the screenshots uh and when we get big winners we celebrate as a community we run some fun sales and giveaways and all that so when you guys win and you’re rocking the avatar let us know you’re at Stoastic so we can all celebrate together because we’ve had some big wins we want to keep it rolling on that note friends good luck at the Rocket Classic eg never ends so I’ll see you next week for another tournament and hopefully to celebrate those big wins [Music]
